  2. Didn't you just have a birthday a year ago??? Happy Belated B'day!!
  3. The screw should be available at better hardware stores or Fastenall store. The broken stud can be removed with an easy out. Have a machinist friend help you out with that...
  4. Unless you also open up your exhaust and do a little carb tuning, the K&N's will just decrease your gas mileage. a 50/50 mix is the best regardless of what temp range you are driving in. Don't waste your money on premix, mix your own and save money. I don't do the signature maps so you're on your own but I'm sure you will get an answer soon enough...
  5. Heartwarming story my friend!! Ya done good!!!!!
  6. Way to go!!! Sounds like you need to update your compression tester. I have one from harbor freight that has several screw in adapters for various thread sizes, and a hose that leads to the air pressure gauge. Can't remember exactly how much it cost but it wasn't excessively expensive. Getting an accurate compression reading is essential to determining what kind of work may be needed i.e. valve adjustment, etc. As long as all 4 cylinders are within around 10 - 15 psi of each other that should be good enough to run OK. I think accepted is within 10 psi but a little more of a variance is no real big deal. Getting the carbs rebuilt properly and correctly sync'ed is the next big thing. There is an excellent video available on ebay about rebuilding VMax carbs but the Venture is the same, just a little different on the jetting. As far as spark plugs go, NGK is an excellent choice, and should only run 2 - 3 bucks per plug. The Irridiums will last a little longer but to just plain get it running just get the regular ones...
  7. Ben, we tooted and waved as we drove past on the QEW, didn't you see us???
  8. Uhhhh, last time I checked a globe, Canada is still part of America, North America to be specific! I just happen to be in Canada today and heard it was a holiday...

  13. Sure glad Iceland snow is green...
  14. Several of us have thought of this. I was even going to suggest the Pioneer Motorsports location but need to talk with the owners first. I'm sure they would be agreeable...
  15. Just read the label and make sure the coolant is compatible with aluminum!!! For anti freeze, a 50/50 mix provides the lowest freezing temperature. Believe it or not, straight anti freeze will freeze at a somewhat higher temperature than a half and half mix. This is especially important for people in Minnesota...
  16. Hmmm, wonder if you could morph a system from either a 1st gen or 2nd gen...
  17. Try a toothbrush to scrub the pins while spraying with cleaner...
  18. Yup! Once you get it running, drive it like ya stole it! Those engines thrive on higher RPM's...
  19. Praise the Lord!!!
  20. You will ALWAYS be a friend Don! If you need someone to talk to I'm a phone call away! Hopefully this is just a temporary thing and we can count on one in 2015...
  21. Most likely gummed up carbs. Those little passageways clog up very easy. Try seafoam in the carbs. you could also have a clogged fuel filter, fouled plugs, moisture in the TCI box, and a myriad of other things...
  22. Waaaay cool!!
  23. First try re-soldering the connector contacts on the board. The solder is old and may have gone bad.
  24. Try these guys... http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-2ND-GEN-ROYAL-STAR-RSTD-XVZ1300-CUSTOM-TOURING-SEAT-2005-2009-NO-RESERVE-/261393282421?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cdc40f575&vxp=mtr
