  1. Every time my wife says a similar statement, I learned to always consult her anyway because it almost always turns out to be the opposite of how she feels.
  2. I left it at home today, but I gave it a nice wipe down. Her Clutch and Brake Fluid will be replaced soon.
  3. Weird? Well, I still have my most reliable 2007 Toyota Prius with 143,000 miles and climbing. Love it to death!
  4. On my '07, I was already 4 miles away from home and then the engine died. Lights were there, battery in good health but the engine just died for no reason. I coasted on the side of the road and waited for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what happened. I really thought I may have hit the kill switch accidentally, but that was not the case. After cranking the engine for about 5 times, the engine went back to life and off I go to my destination. The following day, I decided to replace my fuel filter and it has never occurred ever since. Just wanted to share...
  5. The biker had great instincts to avoid the car that abruptly swerved to his lane and was very lucky that he did not go down. As for the cager, that move was to intentionally hurt the rider in some shape or form. Unfortunately, it ended up to be a very ugly outcome for the cager and motorists around the accident. Just another bad incident that we all have to learn and avoid and hopefully it never happens again.
  6. Yep. The '18 is a new model. As for any new models whether it be a car or truck or motorcycle, there has to be something that might need to be recalled or what not....time will tell and hundreds of miles on the road and helpful owner feedback will for sure help me decide what to do next.
  7. I am also thinking about the trade or keep my '07. I really enjoy my current Venture and it only had 51K miles and climbing. Perhaps I should first test ride the new Venture and find a place in the garage to park it someday. Have you test ridden the '18 Venture?
  8. To shoot a man just because you disagree with his government policies is very wrong. It is a sad day for America. The Congressman is still on critical condition and I am praying that he will recover fully.
  9. Yeah.....Welcome Back. Riding is truly in your blood.
  10. Hmmmm, I wish it is solar powered.
  11. Welcome to the forum, Scribz. This is the right place to get lots of information and help to assist you in any repair or maintenance or modification you would like to do on your Venture. As far as maintenance and such...I am not sure if it has been mentioned before, replace your gear oil every other oil change. I use 80W90 on my bike and that seem to take care of most of the whine.
  12. Today, Tomorrow and the next day - will ride the bike as much as I can.
  13. One of the things I don't like about a Belt Driven motorcycle is the fear of having a belt break while I am hundreds of miles away from home in the middle of the night. I do a lot of night riding as well, so I want to have the peace of mind that my bike will not break down in the late nights and early morning hours. I also don't like replacing a belt drive....I heard it is not the easiest task to do as a DIY. With that said, I am very happy with my '07 knowing that I have a shaft driven bike and a proven motorbike. I may have to wait awhile until new owners of the transcontinental motorbike put out their likes and dislikes about the bike in the long term.
  14. That was not fun at all after loosing all lights on your dash and most importantly all turn signals are not working. At any rate, it may be a case of a wire being kinked and pressed unto something that is causing the fuse to blow prematurely. Hoping you can find the problem soon.
  15. I hope to remember to go online within 1 hour.
  16. That is a good answer to my question.
  17. Who needs Oil?
  18. I like that tool box that you can sit on. Very Handy for sure.
  19. Hmmm. This is the first time I heard about the benefit of Petroleum Jelly on battery terminals. I don't know, if we have something around the house. I'll ask the family. Thanks
  20. Glad to hear that you are just sore and survived the crash. Your guardian is truly watching over you. Hope you can get yourself checked out down the road. Heal and rest. Regards.
  21. So this is a reply to my own post.... I cleaned both battery terminals the other day and rode since then with no ill effects at all. I noticed very minimal amount of dirt and corrosion on the terminals - cleaned with a small wire brush and wiped clean and then reinstalled connectors. It is just amazing no matter how small the dirt is around the terminals, it still has a significant effect on the starting ability of the battery. FWIW, this is my 2nd battery and has lasted about 4 years now. The bike has 51K miles to date.
  22. I bought my first Mobil1 oil filter and it is for the cager. Next month, I am due for a change oil so it is nice to know what Mobil1 oil filter to get for the Venture.
  23. I tried to my Venture today and all I heard was a click...the 2nd time I pressed on the start button, another 'click' then all went dark. I noticed 2 months ago that my battery conditioner has been constantly turning on while plugged in on the bike. I thought this did not look normal to me. I am now leaning towards a very weak and dying/dead battery. Need to ride tomorrow, so I will have to pickup a new one locally.
  24. This is the original symptom I just had early this afternoon...as I already had all my things packed in the trunk and side bags then I tried to start and all I heard was a single click. There was lights until the second click and all went dark. I didn't have time to remove the seat and take a quick look since I am already on my way to work....had to take the cage. I will have to check the health of my battery and see how my cables look as well tomorrow morning. A little disappointed since I couldn't ride on a very nice day like today.
  25. Looks like you are having fun even when not riding. You encourage me to wipe down my bike tomorrow and head to the gym before the rain comes in the afternoon.
