  1. How in the heck could they not have caught that...???? Lol... Terrible situation, but that's funny.
  2. I'm kinda hit and miss when it comes to seatbelts, but the point of my comment is that to "check" if you're wearing seatbelts is not a sufficient reason to be pulled over. If you're in a state where seatbelt laws are a primary law, you can certainly be pulled over and ticketed for an observed violation, but being pulled over simply to "check" don't cut it. If you were initially stopped for speeding and he let ya go,.....that makes more sense.
  3. .....He pulled you over to "check if you were wearing your seatbelts"...??? OH, Hell No.... A man went looking for America and couldn't find it anywhere.
  4. Got a title transferred to my name today. Took about 15 minutes from the time I hit the door on the way in, 'till I hit the door on the way out. I picked up a Honda CT110,...cool little trail bike.
  5. Too Cool !!!
  6. I'd like anyone who knew me to feel that the world was just a little bit better place for my being there.
  7. I WON !!! I bought a raffle ticket for $20 for a chance to go nuts and run through the warehouse (20,000 sq. ft.) for two minutes and take all I could carry....and I won ! Boy...that two minutes went by in a blink, and the boxes were all labelled individually, but no labels large enough to read without stopping to focus in. Anyhoo, I did the best I could, and ended up with 16 boxes of premium cigars. They had to ring them out of the warehouse as if they were a sale to not screw up their inventory system, and the total came to $2177. That, and the 160 cigars I got as a normal part of Cigarnival (VIP tickets), means I won't be buying any cigars for a while. When I get home I'll post some pics and a link to the video they took.
  8. Just got here and set up. Event starts at 5. I checked out the link for the "Big Smoke" event in Vegas, and it looks a bit pricey. for a $500 ticket you get 25 premium smokes.. For the $540 the wife spent for the two tickets here, we'll end up walking away with about 160 premium cigars. I may get a box of Drew Estates as well, which would pretty much keep me supplied until next year. Certainly something to consider, but I'm kind of a cheapskate. Heck, I even discouraged the wife from buying tickets to see the Rolling Stones at $600 a pop. She seemed to understand......kinda.....
  9. Heading out to Cigarnival in the morning. Got the motorhome all loaded up, ready to leave before sunup. Should take about 10 hours or so. I'll try to get some pics to post when I get back.
  10. If ya put wings on my first gen,.....I know she'd fly.
  11. No, we don't. .....Are the second gens restricted to "slow lane only"??? Or do they allow them in the passing lane.....
  12. I have had parts fall off all my bikes. My Honda 350, 450 750 and Kaw 900z1.. but not YET has anything fallen off my GW. Not saying it wont. Short of dirt bikes that I've broken parts off of,....I can't remember EVER having parts fall off of any of my bikes. Sounds like you need to start using Loc Tite to keep the loosey goosey at bay.
  13. I've not been to that Cabela's yet, even though I pass it every day on my way to and from work. I've been told it's not so great when compared to the store in West Virginia. What'd you think of it....???
  14. The link wouldn't work for me.
  15. Best of luck to ya !
  16. Wow!!! I think I'd have to move to another state. Here in Ohio BMV isn't too bad. I usually try to go in mid week and am in and out quickly. Hope it works out for ya.

    Wicked

Went with the wife to see the musical "Wicked" at the Ohio Theater in Columbus. Great show. Having never read the book, it wasn't at all what I expected. It puts one heck of a twist on the Wizard of Oz tale. I highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance to see it.
  18. She did point out one of the blue ones....I wonder if it was yours. She liked the blue color scheme, and I did too, but I've always been partial to black cherry.
  19. In NE Pennsylvania, there's a "Simpler Times Museum" on scenic Route 6 near Titioute that is worth seeing. BTW, I enjoyed our brief conversation while the wife was checking out the pond. Godspeed, ...have a safe and enjoyable trip.
  20. The wife and I took the ride up to Oberlin to check out what was going on for MD 2013 and she (and I) really liked the look of some of the second gens that we saw there. She said " we should get one of those". After years of saying how much she liked our first gen, she's definitely open to a newer bike. Having said that, I couldn't imagine EVER selling ol' blue....I love that bike. I told her that maybe next year we'd look for a second gen. It'd have to be a looker, preferably the ? black cherry ? color scheme, with plenty of safety chrome, with a big comfy back seat for her. Any thoughts on which years I should be looking for? I don't know that I'm ready to buy right now, unless I came across just the right bike. (I'd prefer to pay cash), but if anyone becomes aware of one for sale, keep me in mind. Location isn't that important....I'd be open to flying out and riding back for the right bike. I'd keep riding the first gen, but when she want's to go with me, I'd ride the second gen. As much as I love the performance, reliability and comfort of ol'blue, I gotta admit,....those are some sharp bikes.
  21. Hey... I posted a couple of years ago about smoking my friends Harley and the folks on this site gave me a lot of heat about it. Mostly that it was dangerous to do so, and that Harleys weren't built for racing and such. How come you guys get an attaboy??? http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52516
  22. a passport moped/scooter (German Village) http://images.craigslist.org/3G63M93Nf5I35T55Hfd5u2cd3e5cf664814f7.jpg Selling a 1981 Honda Passport. Great bike for the summer. Its a two seater, it is in great shape and runs.... It had its tires replaced last season, along with seat and a bunch of other things. am replacing the batery and adjusting a few things tonight. Pls feel free to email any questions. Asking price is $1,000
  23. I recently bought a van off of the company I work for. It has high miles, but runs well, needs a little tlc, but it's a one ton Chevy, with a motor and tranny less than 50,000 miles old, with a ladder rack and all the tool / parts bins and shelves. I got it for scrap price.....probably less than scrap price at $500. In any case, part of the deal is that I have to remove all company decals and was wondering what's the quickest / best way to do it without damaging the paint. It has a large stripe, a smaller stripe and the company lettering across both sides and the back. I was thinking about using a heat gun, but am concerned I'll damage the paint. I think they're vinyl. Any other ideas on how to remove these decals?
  24. Hey....ya wanna sell it??? LOL I was looking around a bit, thinking about buying one for the motorhome, and found that there was a fairly wide array of prices. Generally, I found that the larger the motor, the higher the price. Honda's seem to hold value a little better than most, but if you passport runs and is in fair shape, I'd guess it to be worth between $500 and $1000. Check out Craigslist and e-bay to get an idea of value. Rock on.
