  1. He's been in my thoughts and prayers since I first heard that he was having trouble....was hoping to see him at WNY Rally...Keep in mind that when we send such well wishings, it's for ourselves as much as Bob...we don't want to see a good man leave us, nor do we want his family to be in pain. We should keep in mind that, if we have faith, that faith must accept that this may be part of Gods plan. Should Bob continue to suffer, it may be best that he's allowed to return to his true home. If we have faith, we should temper our pain of loss with the joy of knowing that this may be his time to return to the eternal love and joy that we all hope to someday achieve. Bob....if you're to leave us....Gods' speed...I'll look forward to seeing you on the other side. Still praying for recovery, but failing that, I'm sure he'll find peace.
  2. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your father during this difficult time. You're both fortunate to be so close, and to have so many pulling for you. God bless you both.
  3. I need to replace the vacuum caps on the carb test ports, and the vacuum hoses on my 06 RSV, but would like to have the correct sizes handy before tearing into it. Any gurus out there know the sizes???? And... Is that something I can get at the local Auto Zone or the like?....or do I order them online...?
  4. Happy Birthday Brother !!! Many happy returns. !!!
  5. Thoughts and prayers will be with him.
  6. Lisa and I are plannin' on it. See ya there. Looking forward to another great rally !!!
  7. Went from Don's to Youngstown, where I replaced an air conditioning condensing unit for an old friend, then home where I backed off the gravel drive into the yard and got the motorhome stuck. Couldn't pull it out with the truck, ...had to hook up the winch to get back on the gravel.... A full day. Thanks to Don and Eileen for putting up with us and being such gracious hosts. Always a good time, and love meeting the folks on the site. Now looking forward to NY Mini Rally.

    A/C ?

They can be fixed. Not that much to them. Come on up to MD and I'll look at it for ya. lol Like Don axed,....is the fan motor and compressor running?....if so and it's not putting out cold air, it's likely a leak, which is usually pretty easy to fix. If no fan or compressor, could be fan motor or compressor failure, or either on / off switch, (usually a turn knob type switch) ...or could be thermostat. Anyhoo, if you can work on a Venture, you should be able to work on your AC. Feel free to call or PM if there's anything I can do to help.
  9. I understand your reasoning, but being a Venture owner is only part of the equation. Sad to see you go, but you don't have to renew to visit. Best wishes for your future endeavors.
  10. CONGRATS !!! I'll be watchin' for ya on the National news !!!
  11. Been going over the motorhome to get ready for the trip up. Bike will be on the trailer. Motorhome hasn't been moved in 2 years so there's a lot of catch up to do. 75 gallon fuel tank, with 4 cans of Seafoam put in when I last used it, and it started like it was running yesterday. Anyhoo, I'm planning on working a half day Friday, and getting there in time to do the dinner ride. See ya there.
  12. I have ! I have ! THANK YOU to my anonymous benefactor!
  13. Bummer.....Hope whatever you're up against works out for ya. See ya next year!
  14. Great poem...Thanks. I often reflect on how thankful I am for ALL Vets; not just those who gave all. You're absolutely right to say that without them, we'd have nothing. This American experiment has been a GREAT benefit to the entire world. Those who oppose us on an ideological basis are full of beans.....the human spirit longs for the freedoms that we represent and have secured for ourselves and many throughout the world. Those who would call us imperialist should recognize that such expansion benefits them as well as us. It's created a nation of unbelievable prosperity and generosity that's been a boon to the entire world, and I can only think it's from either ignorance or envy that others throughout the world (and here at home) would berate us.... I understand theological differences, but imagine the wonder that someone from Afghanistan would have walking through a Wal Mart....love it or hate it, it is a great example of what freedom can bring. My God, but we're fortunate to have been born in the Good Ol' USA. I am thankful beyond words that my Father and Brother, who've both been in combat, WWll and Vietnam came back to me. I can't imagine what my life would have been without them. THANK YOU to all Vets,....living or dead.
  15. Anyone hoping for a bell should make sure Don has their address. He already has mine. Just sayin'
  16. All I can say is that I'd feel a lot safer if I had one of those guardian bells........I wonder if anyone else feels the same way?
  17. I don't know that it'd work that way. If you buy one for someone else, knowing that you'll get one in return, it seems as if you're skirting the rules. Your intent when buying one for someone else was actually to receive one for yourself. I don't know if juju would be so easily manipulated.
  18. OUCH !!! Best wishes for a quick and complete recovery. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. This gettin' old stuff ain't for sissies.
  19. Happy Birthday Puc !!! Hope ya have a great day, and enjoy some of the happiness and goodwill that you bring to VR.
  20. Done. My thoughts and prayers are with your brother, and your family. Try to bear in mind that the true difficulty in this is bore by those who love him. He's about to be free....in a much better place....and yes, you will one day see him again.
  21. Happy Easter Everyone!! What a great time of year. Everything (Around here) is turning green, all the colorful stuff is starting to bloom, and the promise of 6 months of nice weather. For all with kids / grandkids it's a time of candy, Easter Egg hunts, feasting and celebration. I'm not a religious fella, but I think that through all of this we should remember the true reason for the holiday.....It ain't about bunnies and candy.....as great as all the other stuff is, it's a time to recognize the life and sacrifice of Jesus. Whether you're religious or not, I think that Holidays like Christmas and Easter show that we recognize that we are capable of horrible sins, but long to be better.....We celebrate the good and although we are weak creatures we long for the light......we want to be better than we are.....and that's something.
  22. Great video It makes me think of my older brother. He served in Vietnam, First Air Calvary. He was one of the guys that spent the bulk of his time in the bush. He had friends die there...darned near died himself, but he's like the guy at the counter in that he doesn't wear his service on his sleeve. You wouldn't know that he served just by looking at him. That "Conflict" changed his life and if you happen to be there during one of the rare, reluctant times he talks about it, you'll likely see this tough as nails guy start to break down. I've never felt the call to serve, but I truly thank GOD that my father survived WWll and that my brother survived Vietnam. I wouldn't be here if Dad hadn't come back, and I can't imagine what life would have been like without Lenny.....He's had quite an impact on my life......the families lifes.... I too would like to offer a sincere Thank You to all our Vets. It's nice to see that, as a nation, we're getting back to a place where it's OK to thank them for their service in public. (I do)
  23. Happy Birthday, Annie....Glad to see that ya dipped yer toe back into the waters around here.....Stick around !!!
  24. Enjoying the thread, but not completely comfortable posting online what I have. Ya never know who might be looking.
