  1. Hello everyone, We've got a lot of snow up here in Vermont also. I was off from work the last three days and had to spend my time shoveling the roof of the house and the roof off the mobile home that I own. Plowing driveways and snowblowing walkways I don't mind but the roofs are another story! The house is a large two story Cape with a full front porch that took almost six hours to do, boy it was cold up there. Well mud season will be here in another month and a half so it won't be so bad then. Bring on the warm weather Joshua
  2. Hey everyone there is a 06 Venture on RideSafely.com. Low mileage and looks to be an easy fix Joshua
  3. Thanks Duke!!! Those will be the ones. Joshua
  4. Hi people, A couple of weeks ago while browsing on the internet I saw something that might help me. It was a company that sold a little pocket (two to a set) for you headphones that attached to the webbing of you helmet. My wife and I have about four helmets apiece but none of them are full face or full helmets so regular setups from Chatterbox won't work. I'm like most people as I visit a hundred or more sites a week but I can't remember where I saw these pockets Anyone got any ideas? Joshua
  5. Jonesy, we're located in the small town of East Dummersaton Vt. which is off of rte 5. (Moved here four years ago from Cape Cod and haven't looked back!!!) The Apple Pie Festival is a gas! The volunters make a lot of pies for the week prior and always sell out on the festival day. We've seen bikes and riders from New York, Jersey, Conn., R.I., Maine etc. This year unfortunetly we had several bad accidents within a few miles of the center of town, the roads are very curvy and very hilly. Sometimes when a large group gets together some of the riders tend to drift over the line a little. I highly recommend that anyone attend next year. Margret, thanks no harm done Joshua
  6. sorry, I still haven't quite figured out where to go on this site. I was supposed to put this in the wateringhole and screwed it up to sending it here Joshua
  7. Well I've owned my 07 for almost two months now and I've done about 1500 miles in and around Vermont and down to Cape Cod twice. Everyone is right, it is a sweet ride. I've still not gotten accustomed to the noises that it makes. Harleys are a lot differant. But anyway, my wife and I did a 200 miler on Sunday and we finally saw another Venture (two riding next to each other) We were in the town of Manchester in bumper to bumper traffic, damn tourists! But anyway they saw me and I yelled hey there's a Venture and got a big smile from both of the quys. I know kinda hookie but it was pretty cool to see another one. If any of you riders are in The Vermont area on Columbus Day Weekend come down to the Apple Pie Festival. Its a day long event in the town of Dummerston and usually they see at least 500 to 600 hundred bikes stop for Pie!!! Great area to ride in Joshua
  8. Hey! Wanted to let everyone know that RideSafely now has three Ventures up for auction. 07, 03, 99 and none of them look to bad. Josh
  9. I wanted to let you all know about a salvage site that I belong to that has a 2003 Venture up for auction. Its a 2003 and its black. It does look like an easy fix and it seems like (from the pictures) that the owner but some money into it with extras. The name of the site is "RideSafely.com". Their main office is in Pa.. I did buy an Electra Glide thru them a few years ago (wreck) and was very satisfied with their service. Please don't think that I'm endorsing them but you may find the bike that you've been looking for here Josh
  10. thanks everyone Josh
  11. Hi, I need some help with a question about the windsheild on my Venture. Because its a full sheild and I can't see over the top of it I was wondering if its all right to use "Rain- X" on it. The bottle says not to be used on plastic and I wasn't sure if the windsheild is considered "plastic". If anyone knows of a similar product as this which is safe for our windsheids please let me know thanks, Josh
  12. Hello everyone, I just recently joined this great group of people and I was wondering if there is a group that meets in Southern Vermont or within a resonable distance from the Ma/Vt border. My wife and I still belong to the local HOG Chapter but we're looking to expand our search for new friends (Big Metric Bikes). I'm still learning how to navigate this site so I may have missed something somewhere. thanks Joshua
  13. Thanks everyone for the help and encouragement! I'll be buying a Harbor Frieght Trailer over the winter and getting it ready for the spring. Just bought a Sears Turtle Top for it Josh
  14. Hello everyone, Man do I have a lot of questions for all of you. My first one today is about towing a trailer behind my bike. I've never done it before and am a little concerned after reading about the rider from Canada who lost control of his bike and trailer. My new bike just doesn't seem to have the storage space as my old Electra Glide so I do need the extra space. Will the Venture be okay to tow with? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated. Where can I buy a hitch? Thanks Josh
