  1. The fluid should be changed ever so often. I changed mine last year. Very well said M61A1MECH . Thanks.....
  2. Not stealing anything Barrycuda. This is what I consider the forum to be all about. People finding friends and help here. Gathering for rides and the such. Post on my friends....
  3. I do not understand why the photos came up sideways.
  4. Are you any akin to Danny Tacket, retired police chief ? I know him well and to talk him and others on the CB every now and then. Drop by some time if you like. I hunt myself, deer and turkey and squirrel with a bow. I love to bow-hunt. Mostly strictly bow-hunt. Me and my 8 yr old son done some turkey hunting together this year and some squirrel hunting. Well I never even realized that Dons Maintenance day already passed. I hope all had a good time and safe traveling.
  5. Well I almost forgot again, even after the reminder. Been busy building Flag Mounts and so forth. Hope everyone is doing fine. I am not going to be able to make it to Freebird's Maintenance Day this year. I hope everyone has a very nice and very safe ride. Take care my friends. :thumbsup2: :usa:
  6. Good, very good news. About time they joined the rest of us. Thank you for sharing the news.
  7. Great, I was kinda thinking that you may have done that. But I never knew dying the leather was something that could or can be done. Thanks... Fuzzy
  8. Thank you Brad for your service. Thanks to all, past and present. I do appreciate your sacrifice and I also do hold Memorial Day as a special time to remember them all. God bless and take care. Respect Honor Remember, PGR.
  9. Nice ride Starfan, very good taste my friend. One question, what did you do with the M and M seats. I think they would look great on my RSTD. Red is much much much more faster. Also adds to the beauty of my bike when flying the red white and blue. The red just pops out at you. I do really like the tan seats. I wish we could have worked something out. Just PM me if you have them please.
  10. Glad your comfortable. Best two wheels I have ever been on in 35 yrs of riding. Man, it sucks to get old.
  11. Well looks like you are doing a complete removal of everything. Wow, kinda surprised unless you are also doing other things as well. I am thinking about the barons lowering idea also. Hope it all works out for you. A lot if good information here to help you on the way. I like the Avon Venom tires myself. Good tire life and very good handling in dry and wet conditions. Would be a good time to have graphics added to your fenders if you are doing that. I would like to have some added to mine one of these winters. I have a 2007 RSTD. I like the pictures. Keep us informed of your progress and things to watch for on a lowering rear project. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69147 I did the Flanders bars and stainless cables from, well shucks, can not remember right now. They are located in Cincinnati Ohio. Very good people to deal with. I really like the extra pull back they gave me. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67699 Thanks, Fuzzy.
  12. Thanks Leo3wheel, I enjoyed the photos. Looks like you had great weather and a good time.
  13. Yep, I know what you mean. Good food. We waited outside with a big crowd. We where number 108, I figure that place really brings in a lot of money. I was really wanting to see some of the Ozark mountains. Did you get any mountain photos whiles you where there Leo ?
  14. We ended up leaving the Ozarks because of the severe weather threats. We rode out of Mountain Home, Arkansas south and east through Memphis and Nashville, TN the next day. Stayed in Lebanon,TN and then on to Cherokee in the Smokey Mountains the next morning. We then picked up the Blue-ridge Parkway. We where caught in a pretty bad hail storm there. We got out the bike covers and made makeshift tents for the bikes and us. First time I ever was out in a hail storm with out some kind of cover. Nickel size hail for quite some time. It covered the roadway and we had to wait about 30 minutes for the rd to melt off enough to tracker on. No harm to the bikes. Stayed in Ashville NC that night and then on to home the next day. We rode 1750 miles all together and we had a good ride considering all the bad weather. We did a lot of running from the storms. I think I will stick to our eastern mountains and forget the western tornadoes and flat land. We only got to see some small foot hills of the Ozarks I am sure. Pretty country out that way. But I am no flat lander here. Give me the hills and mountains. Really nice folks out in Arkansas. The Days Inn Hotel in Mountain Home, Arkansas even had a can of bike rags for you to clean your bike windshields. Very clean and nice state to visit. The mountain photos where in TN and KY and North Carolina.

  16. Well we changed our minds. We are sticking to our plans and heading west straight into the storms. We will hole up hopefully before it gets bad. Hope we are not making a bad decision. We are keeping an eye on the radar as we go. I love these iPhones.
  17. We ( my long time friend JD and I) left my house in Olive Hill, KY at 8 am yesterday morning. We crossed the Mississippi River at 4:30 pm yesterday evening. Arrived at Lamberts Cafe in Sikeston,Missouri around 5:00 pm. Home of throwed rolls cafe. Very very good food. A+ Changing Ozarks Mountains plans because of the severe weather threat. Heading down interstate 55 to and around Memphis TN. Then on down into Mississippi today. Jumping over to a scenic RT heading south. Hoping we can get out of the hail and tornado threats. Finding somewhere down that way to hole up the night and see what happens.
  18. I just got off the phone with my expert Brother in this field. He says that is either the defrost thermostat or the defrost element. More than likely from what is explained here, it is the defrost thermostat. But could be either. So I would get a reliable tech to check it out. It would be worth fixing. If it had been a refrigerant leak, then possibly buy a new one. Sometimes the leaks are in the walls of the fridge or freezer. My brother checked a freezer for me. The Freon leaked out and the leak was in the walls of the freezer. There was oil in the floor underneath it. I junked it.
  19. Well I called this fellow ditzbiz and he has the part. Mailing it to me today. We worked out a good pricing and also got another part that I may or may not need later. Thank you very much Sir for your help. Thank you to all my VR friends. I can always depend you all for help in any matter, just like family. I love you all, Godet Bless You and Ride Safe My Friends. My son will really be a happy camper when I get the cart fixed. But I may end up selling it. Found out I have a really special unit. Then buy another.
  20. I have that lift. A good lift I think. I paid a lot less though. There is a local here whom buys a lot of HF stuff that has parts missing or a slight shipping damage. He then resales it in a garage store he has. I get the HF stuff for cheap, when he has it.
  21. Well I finally got time to add the load equalizer. It is a single output for two signal lights only. Easy to wire with supplied splicing things. The blue things in the picture. Violet goes to your brown, brown goes to your green, and black with red stripe goes to your black. Done deal, easy instal. I think it was $15.00 from eBay. I installed under my seat and behind the battery. Clean the area with alcohol and use the supplied sticky back rubber pad.
  22. I just purchased a 1994 Hyuandai Golf Cart. A friend has helped me get it going. It has been sitting for a year and a half. I have the carbs cleaned all the old gas out and some new with a little sea phoam. New plug and oil and what ever I thought would be good to do. However we still have a problem. The igniter/CDI box has a bad wire inside it. I can hold the wire a certain way and it makes contact, then the engine runs fine, sorta. I even zip tied it a certain way and it ran long enough so that my little boy and wife could take a ride. It has a V270 Suzuki 8.5 HP engine. Four stroke gas. The box has two attaching bolts and wires that easily unhook from the harness. It is called the igniter box or CDI box. I would really appreciate any help here. I can not find a new CDI box on line anywhere. I bought this for my son to ride around the place here. He is 8 yr old. Here is some schematics, but this place has no parts. I need part number one in the schematics. http://gmcarts.com/store/hyundai/catalog-gas/Hyundai%20Gas%20Cart%20Ignition%20System.pdf
  23. Got the lights 95% done. I still got to wire the load equalizer. I really love them. Spent about 6 hours total so far. Taking my time, soldering and tying every wire and covering the wires with loom and or aquarium tubing. I really love them. A lot if work but worth it.
  24. Very good story of a hard working achiever, a family man, a farmer, a soldier of war, an appreciative immigrant, a American citizen, and just a simple man. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. Such great craftsmanship. I would really like to see this sometime, located in American Precision Museum in Windsor, VT. http://http://www.americanprecision.org/ http://http://www.americanprecision.org/2011the-miniatures-of-john-aschauer-master-craftman http://www.americanprecision.org/2011-12-08-16-25-51/general-information-and-directions Fuzzy
