1. No I did not shorten the stand. but I did notice the bike is not leaning as much as before. right now I don't have any issues with it...maybe later I might cut and weld it up.
2. DONE!!!! Bike lowered. New Tires front and back. New Flanders handlebars and grips. Complete bike polish.....Took it out for a spin down the 401 highway...must say very smooth and comfortable. Time for BEER!!!
3. Well its been raining off and on today. Was able to reinstall the rear tire and fender when ever is stopped. Tomorrow will tackle the front fork removal and disassembly.
4. Just started my lowering of my 05 RSTD yesterday..Lowered the back 1.5" but its raining today to remove the front forks to install the Baron's Kit. Had new rubber installed as well hopefully the Kenda Kruz tires will be better than the other set I had on they were Bridgestones...very noisy in curves. Have some pictures to post on the build. After the lowering will also install Flanders handlebars and Kuryakyn Grips with weight ends.
5. Hi..First post here. I am going to start to lower my 2005 RSTD next week. The back should be easy enough will be taking the wheel off to replace the rubber as well as the front. Can some one please direct me to the correct link for instructions to where the two spacers from the Baron Front fork kit are to be located in the fork assembly. Will take pictures of the teardown of the bike front and back as well as upgrading the handlebars to Flanders.
6. Hi new to the forum .... Love the info here to maintain these bikes . I have a 2005 rstd. And just received the chrome fender tips . Bought these tips new from eBay and save over 120.00 from buying them here in Canada. The question I have is how to install them without scratching the paint job on the front and rear fenders. The bike was just presently repainted and I want to avoid any damage. Any ideas or suggestions would be a great help.
