  1. I don't remember what the switch settings were but I kept mine on stock. Played with it a bit at one time but didn't seem that it made any improvement to change it.
  2. Regardless of what you ride, it is one heck of a milestone. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/11/26/honda-builds-its-300000000-motorcycle/?intcmp=features
  3. You can post ebay links here, just post them in the right place. Links to Classifieds, Craigslist and Ebay. Anywhere else and they do get deleted.
  4. I think that most of these requests have been addressed. New software was installed that allows the photos at the top to be turned off. Ebay listings have been removed from New Posts and What's New. Sticky threads are now collapsable. If you miss something important posted there, don't come crying to me. Ebay is the only forum that I'm going to globally disable. If you want any others disabled, you can do it from your "general settings". Not everybody wants the same thing. Folks, I try very hard to give everybody what they want but the fact is, there is no way that I can please everybody. One person likes this, one person likes that, one person likes it all and another doesn't like anything. I try but please realize that not every single thing can be made customizable to your preferences. I will continue to do what I can to make it as much so as possible.
  5. It's a mute point now. Photoplog is gone. It has been replaced by something else. You can now collapse the pictures if you don't like them. Display them if you want to. Have it your way. Pictures from Albums are in the process of being imported into the new system. Some more recent pictures uploaded to Photoplog will be gone. You will have to upload them again if you want to.
  6. I think that this is a waste of time. I will figure out a way to make it user collapsable.
  7. I just made a programming change to the sticky threads. You can now collapse them by clicking on the chevron sign at the upper right corner of the sticky thread block. Condor, if you are losing your wysiwyg settings, it is something with your cookies or whatever. Advanced is actually the default so I have no idea why you would have to reset it even if you logout which you shouldn't.
  8. We had photos at the top of the page on the old site. They were always there. I have told you how to get rid of all the eBay listings or the posts from any forum that you don't wish to see. It is the same method that was used on the old site. Nothing has changed in that regard. If you don't want to see them, exclude that forum and they will not show up under new posts. Most everything here works the same as it did before people. Now I can turn off the photoplog images for everybody but some like them. I will go with popular opinion but so far, I've only heard a handful of people that don't like them.
  9. What I and most others do is to upload it to YouTube and then link it to here.
  10. Looking sharp my friend. I'm liking the hat too.
  11. All the information is right here. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?645-Small-VentureRider-Patches
  12. I'm ignoring you people. By the way, you may notice on the map that some peoples markers are a different color. For the most part, it indicates if they are online right now. The ones that are green are presently online.
  13. You'll need an inch pound wrench.
  14. Do you know how to fix that or do you want me to? All you do is add your city and state in the box a the upper right and then save.
  15. Yes, please let me know how it works now with your new settings. The New Posts is what I think you want to use though.
  16. I THINK I've also turned the Ebay ads off globally for the What's New and Activity Streams. Not sure yet. Will see if any more get posted. To be sure though, it may be best to turn them off in your settings. I know you don't want them to take over but believe it or not, they were a much requested feature. No reason we can't please the folks on both sides.
  17. I just looked and I guess I just don't understand what you are saying. If I click on "New Posts" in the small (lower menu bar...left end) it shows all new posts since my last visit and all threads that contain posts that were there before my last visit but I haven't read. I have a lot of those because all posts are emailed to me so I don't always physically click on every one of them. I have over 20 pages of posts listed there that show unread by me. I just don't know where you are getting the "48 hour" comment. If you are not logging out, they should be there. You should never log out. Just leave when you are done. The forum will mark you logged out after a certain amount of time but doesn't clear your cookies the way it would if you physically hit the log out buttn. The New Posts link seems to do exactly what you want. What am I missing? What's New, Activity Widget, etc....I almost consider those "eye candy". They get updated on a schedule and only pull so much info anyway. Not what you should be using if you are truly wanting to see every post.
  18. Recent activity has been updated to show newest posts. It was showing most active threads. As for the rest, it is cookie based. Are you logging out? If you log out, it clears all your cookies and doesn't know what you have or have not read. Here is an explanation of how it works. I am using option 3. This option controls how threads and forums are marked as read. Inactivity/Cookie Based - once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time (the value of the session timeout option) all threads and forums are considered read. Individual threads are marked as read within a session via cookies. This option is how all versions of vBulletin before 3.5 functioned. Database (no automatic forum marking) - this option uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. However, in order for a forum to be marked read when all threads are read, the user must view the list of threads for that forum. This option is more space and processor intensive than inactivity-based marking. Database (automatic forum marking) - this option is the same as a previous option, but forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read. This is the most usable option for end users, but most processor intensive. As for throwing everything into the watering hole, I don't understand at all how that would help. The watering hole is already over used and that is why so many things that are posted there end up being several pages back very quickly. People really need to get out of that habit. There seems to be a thought that if you post something in the watering hole that more people will see it. Well if people used the correct areas, everybody would quickly learn that is not true and items in the correct areas would remain on the first page longer. Not only that but the watering hole is pruned automatically from time to time so technical information posted there is gone forever after they are pruned. I'm not going to take the time to manually go through every post in the watering hole to determine what is worth saving. That would be very time consuming and I should not be expected to do that when people should learn to just post in the appropriate areas. We have always been lax here about that because I didn't want to be one of those forums that is always fussing at people for posting in the wrong areas but I think we have been TOO lax.
  19. Is Road Rider still around? If so, I would say that if would be better to not post it. If they aren't, we can probably get by with it.
  20. It should be gone now. Just experimenting with a way to notify people that their subscription is about to expire. Many people tell me that they never get the email. Usually because some providers, Yahoo being the worse, puts them in the spam folder. I hope that this way will enable more people to see it before they login and find that they are no longer able to post. I have it set now for 14 days before expiration.
  21. I plan to do a sticky pretty soon, just been too busy getting everything working. About finished so will do a writeup pretty soon. As for the mobile, have you tried switching to "Mobile" style in the bottom left corner or using TapaTalk?
  22. They are separate. You can turn off one or the other or both as described above.
  23. Added something else that some of you had been asking for. That's all I got to say about that.
  24. What you talk'n bout?
  25. Computer whiz? I wish. You folks have no idea how I struggle to get this stuff done. A lot of trial and error. I'm glad you like it. This is one that I hadn't planned to do because it's all manual editing but so many liked the flags and you folks are worth it.
