I think just as a package would be best.

I don't know if there is any interest or not but if so, I will donate these pins. Most are somewhat historical and may mean something to any of you who were members of the old Venture Touring Society. There are 9 of the year pins. Those are the triangular ones and marked 1 - 9. Some are from their V-Daze events. I think there is 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002...maybe another one or two. Their is their old "V Rose" pin and "V Eagle" pin. Then some various pins from toy runs, the VTS Texas Gathering, etc. A couple of AMA pins and even a 2 year membership Venturers pin. If there is nobody interested, I'll just keep them but if anybody is, I'll donate them and pay the shipping to the winner. I had them mounted on a board the 3 or 4 of them have the pins broken off the back.

There have been a few posts about the bikes that we started with or have owned but how about just Yamaha bikes? I don't have pictures of all of mine but here are a few from the past. I can think of an '83 Venture Standard that I can't find a picture for and also a Yamaha 200 street model years ago...it was a 4 stroke but I don't remember the model. Probably more too but I don't remember. Oh....and a 535 Virago....

If you search Garage Buddy with Google, you will find some IOS versions. I don't find it in the app store however. I saw some comments that it didn't work with the newer versions of IOS so maybe it was removed from the store.

Front Fork Replacement
Freebird replied to Chaharly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I doubt it. Without their permission I wouldn't feel right about it. There could be some copywriter issues also. -
I paid for Navonics also. Great app if you spend any time on the water.

Very likely some search engine spider. Wish it was actual members but very doubtful.

OK...found the Gyro info and yes, I have seen one but never ridden one. There is even on for sale on Ebay right now. Pretty cool little bike...or trike...or????
-
Heck...I don't remember ever even seeing a Gyro. Will have to look them up. The carb wasn't even dirty on the Cub I bought. There was a safety interlock that, if I remember correctly, worked off the brake lever. You had to have the brake pulled in before it would start. That interlock was just very slightly out of adjustment. I just tightened it up a bit and she fired right up.

I've owned a couple of those too Puc but did you ever own one of THESE? i picked it up a few years ago for about $70.00. They said it didn't run. Had it running like new about 30 minutes after I got it home. Folks rode it around here for a month or so and then sold it for a nice profit.

OK...I just answered my own question. I uploaded a test ad and used an Australian zip code and it worked fine. Didn't show "distance from me" but that's no big deal. You can just put the location in the description box. So let me know if I'm missing something and there is another reason why it would seem to be geared to to the USA.
-
I'm curious why you feel that the classifieds are geared towards the USA? Will they not take the Australian zip codes? I've never tired but other than that, I don't know why they would be geared towards the USA. If that is the case and you have to put an as on the forum, it would need to go in the "Links to Classifieds, Ebay, Craigslist" forum. Not sure about the value because I don't know how the prices there compare to here.

Well I tried the suggestion of using Peanut butter on my plastic
Freebird replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
No problem waiting. It's still somewhat cold around these parts. I don't be doing it for a few more weeks yet anyway. -
I think you'll like it. I doubt I'll ever pay for MS Office again. OpenOffice works great for me.

Looks good. I may have to try that on my Avalanche. What process did you use? Damp cloth, dry cloth, etc.? -
I agree with open office. I have Excel on my work computer but didn't want to pay for Office for my Mac or Eileen's computer. So I use open office on both of them and have had no problems at all. Great way to go. Been using it for several years now.

I'm thinking you shouldn't have done that. Oh well....we always seem to add to our todo lists.

HEY...that is cute and adorable but NOT FAIR. Now I have to go buy costumes to compete? I call FOUL.

Canadian winter - I had enough of you - I am riding my Venture to Mexico
Freebird replied to jfman's topic in Watering Hole
No airbag lid? That is likely your biggest problem. These bikes just don't run right without them. -
I've never dealt with them. The only issue I had was one of their employees joined here and started posting ads and etc. When I told him that I would be willing to talk to them about an advertising banner, he said they were not interested so I told him to please stop posting his ads and that unsolicited advertising was not allowed. He pretty much went away after that. I've had no dealings otherwise, good or bad, with the company.

OK....that's a decent response...you are therefore re-sentenced to SINGLE secret probation. Beautiful bike.
-
Well we are glad you are back and the new bike sounds GREAT.....BUT.....this was your first post since sometime in December. You can't just sell a Venture and then disappear until you buy another one. We are family...doesn't matter what you ride. THEREFORE...by the powers vested in me....actually I just now vested such powers....you are now on DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION! So there...now you've done it.
