I almost like it. What I need though is something with blind spot monitors. That's my biggest issue as I travel every day. Being blind in my right eye makes it hard for me to take a good look to the right. I've looked into them but all require drilling body panels and etc. I was sure that I could find something that just attaches to the side mirrors but no luck so far. My wife's Murano has then from the factory and it's a great feature.

Well, because I get an email of every post made on this forum, I actually KNOW what the original question was. BUT....I'm not about to end all of this great discussion.

Mufflers for the touring models are all the same. Road Glide, Street Glide, Electra Glide, etc. Be careful of the years though. There were a few years, and I forget which years that Harley put a catalytic convertor in the right muffler. Actually, never mind. You are talking about after market mufflers. Only the OEM mufflers are affect by the catalytic convertor.

Some of the mods could work but the carb swap is not just a simple swap. It requires a custom machined intake at the very least. There have been some who have done it but I don't know right off hand of anybody offering that adapter. The newer RSTD are different in a lot of ways. They use the larger carbs, dual air intakes, etc. @StarFan is a member here who lives in Iceland and has done that mod. He went with the larger carbs, big air kit, VMax cams and I'm not sure what else. I know it was a fairly major undertaking. I tagged him in this thread so hopefully he will provide some more insight.

A lot of people here have installed the Harley mufflers on these bikes. I'm talking about on the Royal Star Venture and the newer RSTD though. I'm not sure what it would take on your RSTC. I would assume that you would first have to find a 4 into 2 exhaust. It just requires the fabrication of a simple bracket. I know that some have installed fairings also but I'm not sure about the OEM Harley fairings. Most I've seen have been aftermarket.

I remember a post from Eddie long ago stating that he had put a deposit down on one of these. Don't know what ever became of that or his deposit or how much it was. Of course we lost Eddie a while back so will never know.

So just an update on the chat room. I've pretty much done all I can with it. It works well I think from a computer. I have also tested it on the iPhone, iPad and it has been tested on an Android based tablet. I find that it works on all of them but not all functions work. The problem is that the sounds and some other features from the menu use Flash. iPhones, iPads and some Android based devices do not have Flash. That means that while you can chat with those devices, you will not be able to hear sounds or send sounds. Maybe not smilies either, not sure. So, you should be able to chat on those devices but not all the features will work. Still the best I can come up with at this time. The only way to make a chat room work the same across all devices is to find an html based chat solution. I've looked and while there are some available, I haven't found any with all the little toys that most of you enjoy so much so for now, this is what we have. I hope you enjoy it and I apologize that it is not perfect for everybody.

Looks exactly like mine the day I brought it home. Except for the trunk rack (added the next day) and the LED headlights which maybe I'll add someday. I've added a lot of things to mine sense then though. Let the customizing begin.

That's a tricky question. It's difficult to say that it's ok to ride it without knowing for sure what the problem is. That being said, I left here on a trip to Colorado a few years ago and knew almost immediately that it wasn't running right. Gas mileage was terrible. I made the round trip and did well over 3,000 miles that trip. Upon returning home, I finally figured out that my right rear coil or, mostly likely, the plug boot was bad. Replaced it and never had another problem. No harm done.

There are possibilities and I have considered looking into it but to be honest, I'm not even sure that the Facebook page is good for the site. Some use it and I don' want to alienate them but it seems to take people away from here.

That's exactly what it does. It keeps you from having to go to the chat room to see if anybody is there. I've been working to see if I could get the chat room to pull in the users avatars from the forum but I don't think it is going to do that. So....any of you who had uploaded avatars to the forum will need to do so again. I'll try not to delete them this time.

Never seen them but if they work as well as that video indicates, that's pretty amazing.

Welcome back. Sounds like a lot of changes...hope you can settle in now.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page here or on any page, you will see a block now that shows who is in the chat room. It is VERY ugly at this point but I'll work on the colors and styling later. At least it is functional.

If you go back into the chat room, if you had uploaded an Avatar, you will find that it is gone. I am still tweaking things and one tweak made them go bye bye. You shouldn't waste your time uploading another one at this time because I'm still working on it. The fact is, when you forum logs you in, it should import the avatar from here. Once I figure out why that's not working, you won't have to upload one there anyway.
