  1. That's a tricky question. It's difficult to say that it's ok to ride it without knowing for sure what the problem is. That being said, I left here on a trip to Colorado a few years ago and knew almost immediately that it wasn't running right. Gas mileage was terrible. I made the round trip and did well over 3,000 miles that trip. Upon returning home, I finally figured out that my right rear coil or, mostly likely, the plug boot was bad. Replaced it and never had another problem. No harm done.
  2. There are possibilities and I have considered looking into it but to be honest, I'm not even sure that the Facebook page is good for the site. Some use it and I don' want to alienate them but it seems to take people away from here.
  3. I'm glad you like it because I think I'm too stupid to make it work the other way.
  4. That's exactly what it does. It keeps you from having to go to the chat room to see if anybody is there. I've been working to see if I could get the chat room to pull in the users avatars from the forum but I don't think it is going to do that. So....any of you who had uploaded avatars to the forum will need to do so again. I'll try not to delete them this time.
  5. Never seen them but if they work as well as that video indicates, that's pretty amazing.
  6. Welcome back. Sounds like a lot of changes...hope you can settle in now.
  7. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page here or on any page, you will see a block now that shows who is in the chat room. It is VERY ugly at this point but I'll work on the colors and styling later. At least it is functional.
  8. If you go back into the chat room, if you had uploaded an Avatar, you will find that it is gone. I am still tweaking things and one tweak made them go bye bye. You shouldn't waste your time uploading another one at this time because I'm still working on it. The fact is, when you forum logs you in, it should import the avatar from here. Once I figure out why that's not working, you won't have to upload one there anyway.
  9. Well Thank you @cowpuc LOL...that was actually me. I had created a fake user to test some things and forgot to log back in as myself. WOW...I sure feel welcome though.
  10. I don't understand the iPhone problems. Can't try it on an iPad until I get home tomorrow. I have no trouble with my iPhone though. You have to access it from the forum. Go to the forum or home page and click the VR Chat link. When I do that on my iPhone, it logs me right in.
  11. I moved the VR Chat button to the left so it should now be accessible on the phones. Of course that moves the VRGallery and Donation buttons to the right and now they are accessible so it just depends on what is more important to everybody. There is a mobile phone plugin that I have installed for the chat but I'm not sure is working correctly. Still looking into that. It also appears that sounds do not work on the phones.
  12. Yes actually I did.
  13. OK folks, for those of you who missed the chat room, the new one is installed and ready to use. I will probably do some tweaking on it here and there but it is fully functional. It seems to be a whole lot faster loading and working than the old one was. It should also work on your mobile phones, pads, etc. There is a link in the upper menu bar, near the right end, that is labeled VR Chat. When you click on that you should be automatically logged in so long as you are logged in here as well. I don't think we need two different chat rooms so I have removed the "ShoutBox" that was at the beginning of the forum. Actually I have only disabled it for now. If anybody really liked it, I will enable it again but otherwise I will completely remove it in the near future. Let me know how the new one works and/or if you see anything missing that you can't live without. I don't know how much I can do about it but am willing to try.
  14. LOL...I just use big words to make me sound more important than I really am. Yes, there will be a new chat room. In fact, there is already a new chat room. I still have some tweaking and etc. to do on it but it should be functional at this time. There is a link towards the right end of the menu bar at the top of the page that says "VR Chat". So....you folks can start playing with it and see how it works.
  15. Oops...guess I need to try that again.
  16. So far...so good. I'm almost 100% sure that things may be going fairly well until they don't and then......
  17. If the site goes down temporarily or you see something strange happen. Do not panic. I will be panicking enough for all of us. I am presently having to rebuild the PHP and Apache software in order to add some new drives that are required for a new chat room. If things go REALLY badly...I hope to see you all at Maintenance Day.
  18. Well...I went ahead and bought the software. Will try to get it installed. Ran into an issue with the server already that I hope I can rectify. Some needed drivers are not present on the server. I knew that installation was going to be a pain.
  19. The old room was remotely hosted and I paid it yearly. They went out of business and left a lot of people hanging. This one is different. I will pay for the software one time and host it on our server. So there will be no monthly or yearly costs. The software is not terribly expensive but not free. Probably about $250.00. Compared to what I have invested in other software here and etc., it's not a bad price. It shouldn't be much trouble to maintain. The installation and any customization is where the time always comes in. Once installed and the way we want it, I hope there will be very little other maintenance to keep it going. I've tried it on a demo and it is about the closest thing I've found to our old chat room that most seemed to like. Not exactly but close. As for Android and Iphone use, it should work. I tested it on my Iphone and it seemed to work OK. The only issue may be getting the mobile application to access our database so that people don't have to sign up and login separately to use it. The site version will do that but I'm not 100% sure about the mobile version. Trying to find out. Either way, it's about the only thing I have found so regardless of the mobile question, it is probably what I'll do with if enough want the chat room back.
  20. Well when the old one went down, a lot of people said that they missed it. The solution that is not installed doesn't seem to be very well accepted. Not sure why because it actually does the same thing the old one did but just without the nice layout. That's OK though...if folks don't like it then I need to come up with something else. Just surprised that now there seems to be little interest. Of course, it was late last night when I posted this so maybe those people who miss the old chat room just haven't seen it yet.
  21. Well, 48 views and no responses. Maybe you folks don't want a chat room after all.
  22. OK folks....some of you have missed the chat room and aren't real happy with the Shout solution that we now have. It's not that I don't care but I've just had a very difficult finding a good replacement for the old one. I may have finally found one that I think is pretty good. Before I spend the money on it though, I want to know that it's something that you will really use.
  23. LOL..you know what...I'm not even sure how much it is here. Just under 2.00 I think. I seldom even look, just fill it up and go. Nothing I can do about it anyway.
  24. LOL....I think they missed the 2016 deadline. Here's hoping for a 2017.
