  1. Drove up the day after Christmas to the company resort in Hayward, WI. Not nearly as much snow here as there usually is but there is enough to get out on the snowmobiles. So now the granddaughter has had her first motorcycle ride and her first snowmobile ride. Here I'm following Eileen, my daughter in law Jeanna'a and granddaughter Evanie. Step son is around somewhere but I guess they were all going too slow for him.
  2. Very nice. Maintenance Day in your house.
  3. Unusual to get a nice little ride in on Christmas day in Northern Ohio but it happened. Even better is when your granddaughter is visiting from Texas and has never been on a motorcycle before. I think she enjoyed it even more than I did. I think there is a new motorcycle enthusiast among us now.
  4. Maybe so my friend. But sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
  5. Many of you may have seen this but it's worth watching again. Merry Christmas my friends.
  6. Merry Christmas to you also. Thank you for being a part of our family here at VentureRiders.
  7. John, who are you trying to fool. Anybody who has ever met you and Debbie already knew that you were the epic winner.
  8. The important thing is that they are OK my friend. So glad that it wasn't worse than it was. I know that everybody will be stressed but hope you can all be thankful for the miracle of life and enjoy Christmas. We will keep all involved in our prayers.
  9. Well I can't read Japanese nor did I try to translate anything. I just wondered if I said that, how many would try to figure it out.
  10. If I thought that anybody other than me speaks Japanese here, I would delete this joke due to our PG rating. Since nobody can actually read it though, I guess it's not dirty.
  11. Rotten doesn't even START to describe him.
  12. Do the photos you are trying to upload from your phone or iPad meet the size restrictions? As for the rotation, I will have to experiment a bit but I have a feeling that it has something to do with the way the iPads and Phones rotate the pictures and etc. Will give it a try from Eileen's IPad a little later this evening.
  13. We may be talking about two different things. He did make the replacements but also something that he called "knee blockers". They just attached with a heavy duty velcro.
  14. You can click on his name @BuddyRich and then send him a message from his profile.
  15. OK @cowpuc I know it's not what you were looking for but here is a picture that shows the start of the evening.
  16. Moved the post to the tech library. If you do another that you feel is better, I'll replace it. Either way, thanks so much for the contribution.
  17. Yep, the new iPad is a pretty big upgrade to the old one. I bought Eileen a new one for her birthday this year. Gave the old one to our daughter in law. I agree with you that the iPad is still tops in that segment. I don't even know how long it's been since Eileen has turned on her laptop. She uses the iPad for everything. You done good.
  18. LOL....I can't tell EVERYTHING.
  19. Too early? Naw...not here. Here's the thing. Christmas is going to be very busy this year. Eileen's son and his wife along with their two kiddos are flying in from Dallas. Dylan will be here as well as other family. It will be a fun but hectic time. Eileen and I always feel that we would like to have a special time with just the two of us. So, she suggested that we have our own private Christmas last night. Just the two of us. A romantic evening with candlelight, snacks, and gift exchange. I think that the REALLY just wanted to open her presents early but that's OK. So that is what we did. No big meal but some great food like boiled shrimp, bacon wrapped and grilled jalapeños, crackers and cheeses, etc. We paired all of that up with a couple of bottles of good champagne and strawberries. We put on some nice music, toasted all that we have to be thankful for, sat by the tree with good food, good drink and candlelight. It was truly a wonderful evening and probably the start of a new tradition for us. Now back to the original question, what did I get for Christmas? Well, I know that many of you will say "he drank the cool aid" and maybe so but most of what she got me is Harley related. About 6 very nice shirts, T Shirts and button ups. Three new caps. A very nice leather vest. A great assortment of things and I love it all. It was truly a wonderful Christmas. She came out OK too, I promise you she did. She too got a couple of Harley outfits which she looks GREAT in but also a lot of non-Harley stuff too. So we will celebrate with the rest of the family on Christmas Eve and Christmas day but last night was our Christmas together and it was truly a special evening.
  20. OOPS....never mind. I'm sure the 3.6 is a good motor but it was the 3.8 that I was thinking about. That is what the Bonneville had in it.
  21. I think you will like the car. In my opinion, the 3.6 is probably one of GMs best motors ever. The previous generation came with a choice of the 3.6 or a small V6, 3.1 I think it was. The 3.6 was far superior. I put close to 200,000 miles on a Bonneville with a 3.6 and the only thing I ever did to it was replace an electric cooling fan. It was just a great motor. The only Impala available in recent years with a V8 were the SS models. I think the the last SS has been dropped but didn't look to be sure. I just can't see the Impala with a 4 cylinder though.
  22. Really sorry to see this my friend. I can only imagine the sadness that you all must feel. Please know that you and your family will be in our prayers.
  23. My best Christmas present EVER. It was 4 days late but I still count it as the best. On December 29th, 1995, my lovely finance at the time took my hand in marriage. It is the best thing that ever happened to me at Christmas or any other time. Eileen is my soul mate and, best friend, lover.
  24. Most likely the cooling plugs behind the cylinder fins. VERY common and and a cheap and easy fix.
  25. What fantastic news. It truly is the season of miracles. We will continue to keep her in our prayers.
