  1. Corbin makes a seat and I was told that Russell does also but haven't checked it out. The only mufflers that I know of made specifically are from a company named Tab Performance. I haven't tired yet but I figure that any turning mufflers for the Harley would work with a simple bracket fabrication.
  2. The '99 engines were all silver. Don't remember what year they changed that.
  3. I will admit that this is a bit shocking for me. I knew that he wasn't doing well and when it was posted yesterday that he had taken a turn for the worse, I knew that there was a chance that Bob was leaving us but I just refused to accept it I guess. I just felt that he was going to beat this and pull through. It is hard for me to believe that I won't be seeing Bob again. He sas a special person. Kind, generous, funny, so many great things to say about him. He will be missed so very much. My prayers are with all that had the privilege of knowing him, especially Becky. I just don't know what else to say at this time. I know that Bob had a special relationship with our savior and I am thankful for that and find peace in knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior. Rest in peace my friend.
  4. Didn't want to hear this but appreciate the update. Prayers said for all involved. Bob is a good man.
  5. I have the hitch installed but haven't pulled my trailer yet. My expectation is that it will pull even better than the RSV or RSTD. Primarily because the torque is so good and it makes the torque at low RPMs.
  6. I take 5MG of Lisinopril per day. I'm not at all sure that it is causing the problem but will talk to my Doctor about trying something else.
  7. If it's a Honda Dream, you did good. They are cool old bikes. Is it a 165 or 305?
  8. It may be more than one issue. The dizziness may or may not be connected to the nodule on my thyroid. They have never changed my BP medicine but I think it is possible that it is what is causing my dizziness. I've only been taking a very low dosage for a couple of years. When they first gave it to me, it drove my BP down so low that I would get dizzy and almost pass out. They cut the dosage in half and it has been much better but still gets too low at times. I'm only taking about 5MG a day now but sometimes I think that even that is too much.
  9. It seems over the past few days that I've suggested checking the battery several times but I've had that exact same thing happen with a weak battery. Bike would start and run but sometimes just after starting it, the stereo would do exactly as you describe. As long as the charging system is good, it would charge up enough after starting for the stereo to start working ok again.
  10. I actually don't find it strange or hard to believe at all. There are a lot of old remedies and cures that modern doctors either don't support or are not aware of. I think that big pharmacy has a good deal to do with that but don't want to get off into my conspiracy theories.
  11. Didn't learn anything yesterday. More tests to do over the next few weeks then another MRI the first of September.
  12. Western New York. It's a yearly tally for VentureRider members and others who wish to attend.
  13. I'm tagging him in this post so he will see it. @Carbon_One.
  14. Am in the waiting room now. I expect about 3 hours of tests today. The dizziness just got to the point of me needing to get it checked. Even driving the car is an issue at times. Things sometimes get real bright like I’m close to passing out. Have pulled to the side of the road a few times to let it pass. Strange because it seems like when I’m working, physical labor, I’m ok but then it comes back. They have already found a module on one of my adrenal glands that they think may be causing problems. It may be making me excrete to much adrenaline. My flight or fight may be out of whack. Today’s tests should help determine if that is an issue.
  15. Things have not been good for riding this year. Last year either for that matter. I've kept it quiet because I thought it was something that would just pass but I'm having some serious dizzy spells. It started a couple of years ago but is progressively getting worse. There was a time when it was only an occasional thing but had gotten to the point of several days a week and this week it has been every day and all day and night. Even when I lay down, I am still dizzy. Not tot he point that I can't function but just have to be very careful. When I got up this morning I had to be careful because immediately when I got out of bed, I was unstable. Had to be especially careful going down the stairs. If I turn my head to fast, it gets even worse. A couple of years ago, they said that I had very slight high blood pressure and put me on a blood pressure medication. Very low dose, 10 mg, but it was too much and was driving my pressure down in the 85/55 range. That made me dizzy and I though it was the problem. I started taking half of what was prescribed and most days it was ok. Now it doesn't seem to be doing the trick and my blood pressure fluctuates a good bit between 85/55 and as high as 160/100. So, I have been going to the doctor to try and get it figured out but no conclusions yet. I have another appointment and some tests today so we'll see. If they don't find a cause for it pretty soon, I'll likely be selling may bike. It is just not getting used at all. I bought it last fall and it's still not even through the break in period yet. I think it has 850 miles on it and I just did the first oil change a few weeks ago. I would hate to give it up and won't until I know if they can get a grip on this or not but will have to make a decision in the near future. Hopefully it is all something that can be easily resolved. They are looking at my adrenal glands now and I may have to have one of them removed but don't know that yet.
  16. Well, this is probably to simple to be your issue but how old is the battery? A weak battery can cause many of the symptoms that you describe. Put it on a charger overnight and made sure it is fully charged. See how it runs then.
  17. I agree that it looks good but not for me. I'm long past the sport bike styling and it would kill my back. Nope, maybe I would be more interested if it were a full touring bike with at LEAST 500 miles range but until then, it's a no go for me.
  18. I don't know any details but it could have been done via a PM. No way to know if it was before or after you posted.
  19. The '96 would be a Royal Star. After the first gen but before the '99 and later RSV and later the RSTD. 1300. Check the history pages for more details.
  20. No offense taken at all. We discuss many different bikes here and everybody has their own opinions. I am looking forward to seeing what Indian comes out with. I wonder if they will reveal it at Sturgis. It will be interesting. If I were in the market, I too would be waiting to at least check it out before buying.
  21. He is in our prayers. The Whipple surgery is a major thing but has worked for many. Hope it does for him also.
  22. You will probably just have to find one for a Harley or something that will work. I don't remember them ever making one for the Venture.
  23. Posting this for an ex member. I usually don't do this but there aren't a lot of these around so I wanted to give any of you who might be interested the opportunity. This came of a new Eluder. He said that the bike ended up being too big for him so he sold it back to the dealer. Original cost on this seat was $1200.00. He is asking $800.00 for it. Great deal if you can use it. Please don't message me about it. Contact Larry Jacobs at jake6470@gmail.com if you are interested.
  24. It will be exciting to see what they have done.
  25. I guess but I don't think it's unusual. I had a '13 Harley Road Glide Ultra that also had VOX and never got it set correctly.
