Wow, I never heard a word of this till just now. SO glad you guys are OK. I must say, you are creating one heck of a report of accidents over the past 10 years my friend. You both are one lucky couple! I guess if one doesn't ride they would never know what it is like in those last 5 seconds of an accident. The eyes see so many things, so fast, that the mind cant keep up with digesting and sorting what those things are until that five seconds is completely over, then it all becomes slow motion, and you see it over and over again for days. Just glad you two are OK.. The bike can either be fixed, or replaced.

I'm sure this technology is very useful to many folks, especially when it tells you if your door is open or closed. I would be afraid someone could download that same free app and "somehow" be able to open my garage door. I mean if those tech dudes can get through the internet to see inside your house using the camera on your computer and bust into banks to steel money, it surely cant be that had to open a garage door. Now this is my thinking and it does not mean to tear down what you posted at all. It's just my opinion and hopefully it is taken that way. Like I said, Im sure this technology is very useful to many folks and it has its pro's and con's like any other electronic system. I don't pull out of my driveway until I see the door closed. I will wait for it to close all the way down before I put my vehicle in drive and pull out of my drive way.

When you get a day to ride give me a shout and I will meet up with you for a ride and we can stop for lunch some place. Just send me an email (here on the site) a few days ahead of time so I can plan it around my wife,s "things to do" schedule. Eck

I hate the sound of the air dryers in the bathrooms. They almost blow your ear drums out.. I wont use them for that reason. I will get paper napkins at the counter to dry my hands if necessary.

Hope you have a safe deployment and return safe and I thank you for your service....

Pee on your legs................"HEY".. you wanted our comments now.... Years ago when I was 12, my dad has my brother and I cut down a bunch of weeds across the road from our house so that we could have a lake view. We were burning the weeds and brush as we were clearing the area out. Two days later I was in the hospital with poison ivy in my nose, mouth and lungs and I was covered head to toe on the exterior of my body... A week later I was released from the hospital.. I know that itch well. I pity you my friend. Calamine lotion works good as mentioned above. "Don't scratch...." as they say, which is easier said than done!

The amount of recalls on Harleys are no different than the amount of recalls on Goldwing's. They "all" have their issues no matter what type of bike it is (or cage). Example: Honda "STILL" has not come up with a fix on the locking rear brake systems on the Goldwing 1800's..And yet this is a SAFETY issue!!! I did not post this thread in an attempt to BASH Harleys. Every bike out there has their issues, Kawasaki, Indians, Suzuki, you name it... If I ever get another bike it just might be a Harley. I think they are really nice bikes and have come a long way.

(Copy / Paste) Riders of some Harley-Davidson touring bikes should be wary about what they carry in their saddlebags until a newly announced recall is addressed. The motorcycle company is issuing a campaign affecting 185,272 examples of its 2014 and 2015 products, including the Road King, Street Glide, Electra Glide, and many other models (full list below). On the affected cycles, the hardware holding on the bags might not secure them properly, and this can lead to the storage areas falling off while riding. Full PR text: RECALL Subject : Saddlebags may Separate from Motorcycle Report Receipt Date: JUL 06, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V427000 Component(s): EQUIPMENT Potential Number of Units Affected: 185,272 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) H-D FLHP 2014-2015 H-D FLHR 2014-2015 H-D FLHRSE 2014 H-D FLHTCU 2014-2015 H-D FLHTCUL 2015 H-D FLHTK 2014-2015 H-D FLHTKL 2015 H-D FLHTKSE 2014-2015 H-D FLHTP 2014-2015 H-D FLHX 2014-2015 H-D FLHXS 2014-2015 H-D FLHXSE 2015 H-D FLTRUSE 2015 H-D FLTRX 2015 H-D FLTRXS 2015 Details Manufacturer: Harley-Davidson Motor Company SUMMARY: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Road King (FLHR), Street Glide (FLHX), Street Glide Special (FLHXS), Electra Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU), Ultra Limited (FLHTK), Police Road King (FLHP), Police Electra Glide (FLHTP), CVO Ultra Limited (FLHTKSE), 2014 CVO Road King (FLHRSE), and 2015 Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low (FLHTCUL), Ultra Limited Low (FLHTKL), Road Glide (FLTRX), Road Glide Special (FLTRXS), CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE), and CVO Road Glide Ultra (FLTRUSE) motorcycles. The affected motorcycles have saddlebag mounting receptacles that may not adequately secure the saddlebags to the motorcycle. CONSEQUENCE: If a saddlebag is not adequately secured, it may separate from the motorcycle while riding, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected saddlebag mounting receptacles with updated receptacles, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 27, 2015. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0166. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov.

Venture West Sweep in Accident

Always hate to read posts like this. I wish her the best. Prayers sent. (I moved this thread from the watering hole to the prayer request section since it will be filled with offerings of prayers) -
Sorry guys, but this time it is not my cell phone..!! First off, I posted this in the jokes and Humor section, but this story really isn't all humor, but the end of the story will be.. My wife told me this last nigth. My wife has a friend (Barbara -58-ish), who has no feelings at all in her left hand or in her left foot. She has not had feelings in either for several years from what I understand. Sad part of this story is: One time Barbara leaned on her stove and placed her hand on a hot burner and didn't know it. Her husband had to grab her arm and move it, then rushed her to the hospital for severe 3rd degree burns. Now the funny part of the story...... back to the cell phone.. Yesterday, Barbara could not find her cell phone. Her daughter tried to call her around 8pm, and could not get an answer, so the daughter drives over to her moms. Barbara tells her daughter that she can hear the phone ringing in her bedroom, but can not find the cell phone to answer it. They both go in the bedroom, each one standing on each side of the bed, and the daughter calls her moms cell phone. They hear it ringing so they begin tearing the bed apart. The end up standing the mattress and box springs up but can not find the phone. So now Barbara is holding (balancing) the mattress and box springs and her daughter calls her moms cell phone again. They both hear it ringing and they both say it is "IN" the mattress. They put the box springs and mattress back on the bed and begin pushing on and squeezing the mattress best they can but can not find the phone. The daughter is very frustrated because she anxiously had to get to work and said she will come by in the morning when she gets off (works 3rd shift) to help her find it, so they quickly make the bed up so that Barbara can later go to bed. SO last night, as Barbara was getting ready to go to bed, she removed her shoes and her cell phone was IN HER LEFT SHOE.......... (Sad part---- she couldn't feel it)

The concho coins were stuck on and could be easily pulled off if someone really wanted it. Mine was on for 5 years and nobody took it.

Prayers for my wife
Eck replied to kbran's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Prayers sent for Beth and you Kenny. I sure hate to hear this. So sorry my friend, but she has the man upstairs on her side!!. -
Very impressive!!!! You did a lot of planning / engineering to accomplish that.!! Other: My son lives in Broken Hill, NSW

I installed what is called a Silver Dollar "Concho coin" on several of the RSV's at the 2006 Vogel rally. It looks like a real Silver Dollar, but it is not. I installed every one of them with the face side showing, however, on my bike, I installed mine with the tails side showing (just to be different). This is what it looks like (see attached pics)

I clicked on the link above and I got a pop up requesting me to "sign in". Appears we need a user name and password to log into the link you provided.

The LINK that I provided is for finding the dangerous roads. Ahe top of the "list" of states and roads I stated: This is the list of the highest paved roads in United States, state by state:
-
The list I posted is showing only the "highest paved roads" in United States, state by state, (not good riding roads state by state). I road RT 72 from Parsons to Harman last year with two other friends, and it is a very nice road if your not in a hurry. A few pot holes to watch for, but a very nice ride it was, and I would do it again. We ended up staying the night in Marlinton.

Correction / additions have been made.. (That whole list was a copy /paste and I didn't verify its contents).

Don't now if many of you have seen this link, but I saved it to my favorites and when planning a route, I always look at this link to see if I can find a safe, but dangerous road to enjoy. If you choose one, please..."Ride safe"!!!
