  1. I got the 40x49 flat trailer also. picked up a car topper from Craigs list for $20 that I talked down to free for the hauling ..... I am also designing a custom box to carry BIG RC planes. There is a member in our flying club that built a custom trailer from the ground up to haul models behind the bike. But he made his tongue to short and has a bad sway over 45mph behind the bike. He does not notice the sway behind his P/U truck. The tag along is close to the same trailer as as getting the small one and putting a car topper on it. IIRC the tag along is about 12 inches narrower than the standard. Many people get the standard and then cut it down to be narrower to match their car topper. I was not worried about the extra 6 inches on each side. Be sure to clean and grease the wheel bearings. The factory only puts in a rust preventative, not bearing grease.
  2. I think that color is going to look awesome in the sunlight.
  3. Oh Oh!!! :icon_lurker: I got plenty of popcorn to go around.....:icon_lurker:
  4. Her is one site set up to scam the scammers. Some funny stuff. http://www.419eater.com/
  5. This was really good timing. I actually had all of the wire and terminals and stuff in my shopping cart from McMaster. But I am lazy enough to let someone else to the work.
  6. Two 4 letter words in the same post, someone is trying to get booted........
  7. I am wearing my hunting gloves for riding in the rain or cold. I have a pair, blaze orange, waterproof insulated but still with enough feel to be able to feel the trigger and safety on my rifle. I wore these last summer for my trip to MD. It was 35 and raining when I left the house at 3AM, and it rained till the last 5 miles getting to Dons. I stayed warm and Dry for the whole 9 hour trip. The gloves are from Gander Mountain and have the Tech H²O Logo. I wear them riding down to 20°F. I do not have heated anything. I have used them while sterilizing rocks in boiling water (don't ask:whistling:) I had to reach into the boiling water to get the rocks out, my hands stayed cool and dry. I must admit I was a little nervous the first time my hands went in there.
  8. Yup! If it ain't snowing.
  9. Hey Mama, are you doing your hair different.........
  10. If the exhaust valve is fully open the piston will be near mid stroke. If you are going to use air to try to blow it out, be very careful because the piston may move along with everything else attached to it. Make sure you will not get whacked by a wrench on the end of the crank or anything else you might have hooked up. As to whether or not you can blow the lead out :confused24: :confused24: :confused24:
  11. Depending on the vintage and mileage of your bike....... The one thing that you may want to look at upgrading is the spring on the clutch. They all start to slip after a while and towing may accelerate that. If you do the spring early and don't just let the clutch keep slipping then it is rare to have to replace the whole clutch. Doing just the spring is a fast easy job that is not real expensive. Once you replace the spring with one of the after market ones like what Skydoc sells, it will be good for a very long time.

  15. What shim do you need? I have a few at home that I could bring on Saturday to exchange. If I remember I will also bring a couple of the tools to the M&E this Saturday.
  16. As to what size fuse it should have. The formula to find out how many amps you will use is, P ÷ E = I . P is power of the lights in watts. (Remember there are 2 lights) E is voltage. 12V I is the Amps that will be drawn. Use the next higher standard size fuse.
  17. OK More questions. Are you using the trailer frame for the ground? Run a separate wire to each light fixture to do the grounding with copper wire not painted steel. But if you are only getting 8.5V going into the converter then it is less likely to be a trailer problem. But, bad grounds on a trailer can cause a lot of weird seemingly unrelated symptoms. As mentioned above, hook up a battery charger and try it again. If that does not fix it, then you may have a bad connection on the bike somewhere.
  18. Thanks for the plug. Here is the thread where these came into being just in case anyone is interested in what went into making these.
