  1. Puc and Tippy - Seasons Greetings right back at ya. Great to see Tip looking so well.
  2. Thanks for asking Puc, but I can honestly say I have never done anything stupid in my life . Actually, on second thought, I haven't done much smart other than marry my better half and buy a Venture. :happy34:
  3. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.....
  4. Wife and I weigh total of about 380# (I am forbidden to say who weighs what ) and we run E3s on our 09 Venture. No problems on trips towing trailer and trunk and saddlebags full....... I run max recommended pressures front and rear.
  5. Merry Christmas to all .... from Dave & Sue (Mr. & Mrs. Mirider)
  6. Wow Puc, I was off the site for a couple days and come back tonite to read this story.....so glad Tip is recovering and it sounds like you have uncovered the source of her problems. Some times, things are not what they seem.....who would think a Gall Bladder problem would affect breathing. At any rate, our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery are sent your way from Sue and I.
  7. Having been a member here a little over a year, I have gained much information and entertainment from the site as it is. Would hate to see it go to bikes only format but I do cringe now and then at some of the content posted here. My solution, I don't read it if it doesn't interest me. While the cost is low to be a full member, I do think there are probably those that wont join because of that....as stated there are many ways to get "free" info and you can read the content without paying. Besides, how would I be able to follow the adventures of my good buddy @cowpuc and others I have met through this site ???
  8. Just to prove Michigan bikers know how to travel in deer season. Seen on I75
  9. Do you mean you will actually pick a site that has hot dogs ??
  10. $1.59 to $1.84 - Grand Rapids, Michigan
  11. @cowpuc - Once again your video prowess had entertained and cheered us but I think I must take umbrage at the naming of the birds crossing the road to get to the other side :confused07:. On second thought, I HAVE been called a Turkey in the past.
  12. Big Mac looked out the garage window today at the 3-4" of white stuff we got and must have decided she was thankful for being covered and warm cause she stopped leaking on the floor. [emoji106]🏻
  13. ROTFL !!
  14. Could be Big Mac(Puc's name for my scoot) is just po'd cause I put her away for the winter.....:crying:Guess I will wait til spring to do a more thorough investigation to determine the source. Kinda cold to lay on my back on the garage floor with a flashlight and I placed a catch container under her to monitor the loss.
  15. Did a little poking around under the bike this am and wasn't too happy with what I found. As shown in attached pic, it appears I have a small leak in two adjacent fins of the radiator. Not pouring out, just a drip so can I assume I have a crack in the fins and if so, what the heck would cause that. Doesn't appear to be any impact damage and as I stated before, haven't ridden it in a while and no leak noticed until the other day. :confused07: Any thoughts ?
  16. Thanks guys, I'm gonna assume at this point my second gen just suffered from a first gen malady and she got a little cold the other night. [emoji848]As I said, didn't notice any additional leakage today. Just never saw it happen before even with colder nights last winter, will keep an [emoji872] on it.
  17. Sadly, with impending cold weather and not too far down the road here in Michigan, cleaned, winterized, changed oil, and covered bike for winter storage last week. Yesterday I noticed a small puddle of coolant on the floor of the garage directly under the radiator. First time I have seen any indication of a leak in over a year of ownership and mystified as to why the puddle was there. Wiped it up and did not see any further indication of a leak this morning. Anybody venture a guess on why I had this puddle. Have not run the bike since I covered it a week or so ago.
  18. Moved last year from 3 acres of trees (lots of leafs [emoji33]) to a condo where somebody else does the clean-up. [emoji3][emoji106] I have heard you can leave them all winter but you need to mulch them to prevent grass rot......
  19. 76 and sunny in West Michigan today......just sayin :sun:
  20. You Arizona guys really know how to rub it in !

The $3000 price doesn't sound too bad to me.....I had an 03 with only 6K miles on it I traded last year on my Venture and got $2600 on the trade. Of course it had lower mileage and had the Silverado package.
  22. After owning a small travel trailer when out kids were young years ago, we got back into RVs in 2005 which was into our retirement years. Owned a 30' Winnebago motorhome for 4 years and then moved up to a 37' Newmar only because the wife wanted a washer/dryer and I wanted a king bed and neither were available in the 30' rig at that time. We used the rvs for summer trips and as a winter residence primarily in Arizona and Florida. Got to say a motorhome is a great way to travel but an expensive way as well. Not counting the initial cost, maintenance, rv parks, insurance and gas (I got 7mpg on my 37 footer) were costs to reckon with. However, as a wise man once said, if you're worried about the cost of an activity - you can't afford it. :whistling:The upside in traveling is you take your home with you, sleeping on your own sheets, using your own bathroom, not worrying about luggage, etc.. Another advantage is if you don't like the neighbors or the area, you can just move. We towed a Ford SUV behind our rig as it's a little inconvenient to take a motorhome to the grocery store or on side trips to sightsee. All in all, we enjoyed our tenure with our motorhomes immensely, traveled all over the country, and highly recommend the lifestyle and experience. We sold our rig last year as we moved into Condo living and not only had nowhere to store it at home, but had also done about all we wanted to do with one during our ownership years. Also decided to do long distance touring on a bike for a change which is the exact opposite in traveling. As to a recommendation on brands, I was priveledged to own two of the better makes IMO.....Winnebego and Newmar. I would rate the Newmar quality slightly above the Winnebago, it is built by Amish workers in Nappanee Indiana. Attached is a shot of my rig (Newmar):
  23. Sorry I asked......
