  1. El Nino is out to thwart you this year.........
  2. I resemble that remark......but then, I guess I don't recall much brainpower in the teaching corp there. Now as to placing the blame on your lovely better half, I think we all know who has the brains in that outfit !
  3. @Freebird - posted this in new member welcome by mistake....can you move to watering hole ?? Thx !
  4. Since Michigan temps are headed down in the near future and the better half prefers to ride only when it's above 60* , we took what is probably our last two-up ride of the season today with a 200 + mile circle color tour here in lower Michigan. Since our route took us very near that old lop-eared varmit cowpuc's place of residence, called to see if we could stop by. Wouldn't you know, the varmit wasn't home but did call me a couple hours later with some excuse about being out shopping for parts for a countermeasure to a certain machine run by a particular varmit to the west. A likely story, indeed. Anyway, had a great ride with nice weather for this time of year......a few pics attached:
  5. Since flyinfool apparently sent up to 6" of to parts of northern Michigan last week, I suppose our days here for riding are numbered. Hope to get in a "color tour" today in case that machine gets cranking.
  6. Don't think anyone is arguing that both the cyclist and cager weren't at fault.....the question is which is the greater offense and whose action created the event. The cyclist crossed the double yellow but nothing would have happened had he not passed a psycho. According to the poll, 100% of Venture Rider members believe the cager committed a crime.
  7. Suffice to say the guy in the cage is a nut case. If you saw the news report cowpuc posted earlier, toward the end they discuss prior incidents with this guy. My big fear riding is the knowledge there are nuts like him out there on the road. Whatever he gets out of this is not enough IMO.

    Biker hit

Obviously a case where two wrongs don't make a right. I have noticed as a rule that "crotch rocket" riders seem to push the limits more than your average rider and it appears that was the case here but......that in NO way justifies the cager's actions. Unfortunate circumstance all the way around.
  9. @eagleye - it appears you have visited "Da Yoopers Tourist Trap" near Ishpeming , Another favorite spot of mine. Lots to see and do in da UP.....
  10. FOLLOW UP - After 3 months and several thousand miles with the Voyager set-up, I can honestly state I am extremely satisfied with the rig. Both the wife and I are very happy with the ride and feel this change has extended our riding experience by many years. Looking forward to more long distant trips in the future.
  11. Boys will be boys ....
  12. Ran across recent photo of one of my favorite spots in the UP of Michigan, the Cut River Bridge on US 2 about 25 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge. Photo taken about two weeks ago with colors starting to peak..... .
  13. Think flyinfool must be tinkering with that machine....could swear I saw snowflakes this morning
  14. Been there, done that with rented motor scooters back in 1989. Quite an experience.
  15. @cowpuc - please extend our best wishes to your lovely wife on the occasion of her birthday. [emoji512][emoji322][emoji324]She has a few to go to catch us. [emoji33] As usual, your videos were VERY entertaining and I noted you used as your base of operations for "the great salmon hunt" the town I grew up in. [emoji106]🏻
  16. Sounds good to me [emoji106]🏻
  17. As you know Puc, my better half isn't exactly "long tall Sally", measuring a little over 5'3". She sits plenty high to see over me on our Gen 2 and reports NO wind buffeting and brother, she would let me know if there was a problem !!
  18. All good brother, an out of paramaters kind of guy is definitely my cup of tea ! Makes life interesting........
  19. You sir, ARE certifiable !!! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  20. OP = Outside Parameters
  21. Wow, who would have thunk Ron was one of the "Wild Bunch" :stickpoke:Guess I just didn't picture him an OP like the Pucster The way he wound it out leaving has me wondering if he came back :confused07:
  22. Glad to hear your puter is humming again puc......maybe now when you pick a spot for the next M,G&EM it will actually be there !
  23. @cowpuc, if there's anything I have learned from knowing you, it's that everything you do is outside parameters.
