  1. Could it be you swapped M/C sizes while typing? The 87 VR has a 14mm master for a single caliper, and the RSV have a 5/8"(16mm) for dual, so we need a 5/8 when de-linking right?
  2. a 1987 Standard indeed has an adjustable shift lever....
  3. No matter the brand all permanent magnet bike alternators produce about 24 VAC at idle, and up to 90VAC at about 5,000 rpm unloaded(unplugged)...
  4. 56 when I bought the bike last year...
  5. yes old thread I have been skimming through the archives and this caught my eye...what is the CMI?
  6. many years ago(I am a tech) I found on a customers bike(cant remember what make/model)that merely connecting the sensor wire to the (+) terminal turns the warning off. Done it a few times since and currently on my 87 Venture. Seems to work a treat....
  7. You want top heavy, push an ST1100 or 1300 in and out of the dealership every day lol
  8. Interestingly enough 90-up specifies HH, they must have changed the material of the rotors? I dont want to compromise but I dont want to unecessarily waste my rotors if a good match can be made.....hmmm answered my own question part #'s are the same for 87/90
  9. Hi, I have an 87 VR and was wondering about Sintered pads for the front. EBC lists the FA123HH Sintered as applicable, but SBS only recommends the 613HF which is ceramic. The OEM pads look to be semi-sintered which would be the FA123V or others?......I ride aggressively 2up and want the best performance without ruining the rotors.... TIA
  10. here is one on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Race-Tech-Complete-Front-End-Suspension-Kit-90kg-mm-FLEK-S3890-FLEK-S3890-/251592796275?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a94196873&vxp=mtr
  11. OK I was going to at least put the Prog or Race Tech springs in, what I am curious about is the Race Tech cartridge emulator kit, it has devices that replace the damper rods(?), 2 small extra springs and its $259 retail in Parts Unlimited....anyone?
  12. Hi everyone, feels good to have an 87 Venture now, always wanted one but was too young before lol.....my question is, has anyone installed a Race Tech cartridge emulator kit, my springs are very weak and 18 psi didnt help much. I need fork seals/oil replacement but want to have the front end as good as possible and dont mind spending the 100.00+ above and beyond just new springs....the funny thing is the part # FLEKS3890 fits many bikes from Harleys to an FZ750 so will it work on this bike?
