  1. If you wanted, there is a coolant hydrocarbon tester available for about $30. Could the kibbels and bits be from the clutch?
  2. I didn't look at the photo very much did I?
  3. Yeah, lots of things to check. I wouldn't assume the seller knew anything about why it didn't run.
  4. The OE filters are $15.80 at partzilla. Lots of aftermarket filters that may fit for less.
  5. https://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1995-goldwing-trike/6537288250.html Price looks more normal
  6. this looks unreal but there is always a chance it's on the up and up. https://eastnc.craigslist.org/mcy/d/motivated-seller95honda/6528413099.html
  7. NAPA sells filters that fit our bikes.
  8. Well Dan, so much for our pose down! I probably won't make it either. It's been 5 weeks since I got shingles and my left knee is still numb in the front and is still collapsing on me. I can't work on my neglected bike.
  9. Grip is your friend.
  10. Differential pressure across the filter may not be a concern on our bikes because they have a fuel pump. But, I installed a filter on my gravity fed carbs on my Kawasaki ZN700 and I have to be careful to get a filter that flows freely or the carbs will starve at higher rpm. It may be safer to use a filter designed for a bike.
  11. Speed limiters are no big deal really. I'm sure someone will be selling a programmer to allow you to raise the limit. The lawyers are responsible for all this stuff. My 05 Dodge Magnum Hemi and my 02 F150 had limiters but the Superchips programmers I used on both raised the limit to beyond their capabilities and also made them perform better in hp, torque, and fuel economy. It seems to be a trend with Honda to not try to outdo others in the hp department. Honda has had issues with the ST1300 becoming unstable at speed. Some riders were killed when they started wobbling. Police depts in Europe quit using the ST because of that issue.
  12. Me wonders if Rider didn't want to post the differences between the much faster Honda and the very much faster BMW. Remember those dyno numbers were at the rear wheel. The new Wing is supposed to have a little more hp than the older 1800 and is supposed to more fuel efficient. I really like what I've seen and read about the new Wing.
  13. Happy Birthday Flying Fool Hey, it's my birthday too!
  14. Have you checked the engine compression? Adjusted the valves?
  15. check the exhaust temperatures. It's probably not running on all four cylinders. spit on finger and touch test on the exhaust or infrared thermometer. check for spark at each cylinder. unscrew the spark plug caps from the wires and check cap resistance. should be about 9k ohms. Look at the end of the wire for corrosion. If corroded clip off a half inch of wire and screw the cap back on. remove air filter and look down the carb throats while blipping the throttle to see if the diaphragms are working properly.
  16. I clicked on youtube and full screen. My guess would be Harley also, but it's not clear enough to be 100% sure.

About 1990, I really wanted an 85 Honda Magna V65 which I think is a similar bike to the Madura. But, I couldn't afford one at the time. I test rode an 83 and was amazed at the power and smoothness but the 83 had different handlebars and the seating was more like a sport bike that I didn't like. Later I read about a problem with those engines, cam oiling problem or something like that.

I like the sound of those 90 degree V-twins!
  19. Yeah, he's in the garage putting some new stickers on Tweeksis getting her ready.
  20. My cc permit is a FL permit. It is recognized in about 34 states, some with conditions. In SC it is recognized only if I lived in FL. No such restrictions in NC that I am aware of but mostly Dems ran our state for decades. I worked in FL for over 3 1/2 yrs when I got the permit and there if you are a military veteran you don't have to take the training class. I got my permit in less than two weeks after applying.
  21. The Dr. prescribed a 2 day supply of codeine/tylenol (12 pills) 3 times over 3 weeks and they helped with the nerve pain. I took it sparingly and my last 1/2 pill last Sunday. Monday, I felt terrible, no energy at all, I could barely drag myself around the house. Tuesday I felt a little better and Wednesday I felt more normal. I think I may have been going through withdrawal from the opiate. If so, that is really addictive stuff.
  22. Wouldn't be a good place to run out of gas or even have a flat tire!
  23. What twist does the barrel have? Mine has a 7 but that may be too much twist for most rounds.
