After 3 years of looking and loosing multiple bids I have finally closed the deal on a set of Monster Ovals that are in great shape with only a few scratches underneat them and a reasonable price. :dancefool:Can't wait for them to get here....now if only Canada Post could avoid going on strike that would be helpful!

Not surprized at all with this one. Spent time in the Richmond area of Vancouver last year and there are more brainless rich kids with expensive sports car than anywere I have ever been before. They are just clueless and spoiled. Would not be surprized if daddy bought him a new one the same day!

To close the loop (and stop the thread hyjack:whistling:) I took it out and aside from only slipping once at the start all seems to be normal again. So too much fluid in the master seems to have been the problem.

I run Joe Rocket gear. Textile pants and jacket. Both have full removable armor with waterproof and windproof linings.This is what I use for spring and fall. Summer time I wear mesh jacket that also has a removable liner and armor. With that combo, i can deal with most weather and temps....

They are not all wired the same as the passing lights are an aftermarket item. Most dealers will install with the switch as per Yamaha instructions so you can turn them on and off. Some will direct wire to either the low or high beam of the headlights so that they are on either on low of high beam. Some (like me) will run them off of a relay with a separate switch. You will need to dig in and take a look behind your fairing to see how yours have been wired.

In New Brunswick the issue is with how much ethanol you get. Essentialy gaz stations have only2 tanks. One with reg and one with premium, the mid range is blended at the pump. So with reg you get 10% ethanol, with mid range you get 5% and with premium you get 0%. I will run regular in the bike until late fall when it is close to storage time and I swich to premium so that there is no ethanol over winter.

Have you tried cycling between hi and low beam on your headlight to see if they are wired against one or the other?

Openned up the master and it was filled right up to the top. Removed fluid so that it is now slightly above the middle of the sight glass when bars are level. Noticed immediately that the clutch handle is a bit easier. Will try it as soon as the monsoons we have been having this week drift away. Thanks all for your help and a shout out to Condor for your help via PM. Hopefully this does the trick and I can avoid digging into the clutch pac so soon.

Thanks for that, how do I check for the plugged expansion hole? Is it in the master or the slave? I am obviously not an expert when it comes to this....

I am the 3rd owner of the bike, so don't know about any possible past abuses. Bike does not have a hitch or wiring harness for one, so thinking it has never towed. I put the last 20k miles on her. I have only been using Yamaha oil, however, I am due to change it. Did notice that this slipping started again after I had my fluids in the clutch master changed. Wonder if that could be related?

Well not even 6 month after doing the Barnett upgrade I am starting to slip again in 4 and 5. I should have replaced the plates at the same time, but figured that with only 50K miles the original plates would be good for a bit more. Plates are getting ordered this week, but can I get away with not replacing the last plate (the one with the metal retaining ring)? Thanks

For those who do have the center stand on an RSV, how hard is it to actually get the bike on it. I had a 1rst Gen before and was always scared of dropping the bike when trying to put it on center stand.

Saw 3 ventures together by the Moncton airport on Saturday. 2 2nd gens and a 1rst gen. Then today in Woodstock saw a couple on a grey 2nd gen at the Big Stop. Did not get a chance to talk to any of them. Anyone from this board?

Check the area of the steering stops. If you have the running light the wires for those sometimes get piched by the stop and then short out with the resulting blown fuse.

Found the problem as the noise came back tonight. Its the small black pin that gets compressed at the base when you pull on and release the handle. I guess when the fluid was changed it overflowed and soaked that area and took grease off. I used moly grease on it and squeak is gone. Thanks for your input...minor issue but it was anoying.

Sorry just noticed you are looking for the passenger port. There is one under the seat, look for a white connector.

Sometimes folks store the driver intercom cable under the tank cover. That is the peice that cover your ignition switch. Just remove the two bolts and it may be under there. There is an aux port on the left inside fairing. If you have the auxiliary lights the swich for them should be there also..a small black button.

Openned up the fluid reservoir as I could not tell from the sight glass if there was fluid or not (its really clear) and it was filled to the top, lost maybee 1/2 tspn in the process. Replaced cover and noise is gone. Is it possible that it was overfilled or that it had an air bubble? All seems to work fine now.

All of a sudden my clutch handle is very squeaky. Seems to work fine but now makes loud squeak everytime I pull it. Tried to lube the joint with white grease (spray kind) but it does not help. Had fluids changed and bled from the master a few weeks ago. Could that be related?
