Flyinfool Posted October 26, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2016 I would think that a BMW or a Porsche would suffice.
WildBill1 Posted October 26, 2016 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2016 You should be ashamed putting your Mercedes thru such humiliation.
BratmanXj Posted October 26, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2016 In a pinch I've done similar, but used the rear sub-frame / trailer hitch. With modern unit body cars I'd be afraid to bend up the pinch welds along the rockers doing it as shown in that photo.
BlueSky Posted October 26, 2016 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2016 Looks to me like a 2x4 on its side might break if you pushed very hard.

GaryZ Posted January 5, 2017 Share #7 Posted January 5, 2017 Yup have used that method myself. Well minus the Mercedes. I have to use the hitch on the PU For years I used a C-clamp and a small block of wood. Then I bought a bead-breaker from Harbor Freight and never used the clamp again. djh3 Posted January 6, 2017 Share #8 Posted January 6, 2017 I can buy a lot of 2x6 for $50. Plus less storage room.
cowpuc Posted January 9, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 9, 2017 For years I used a C-clamp and a small block of wood. Then I bought a bead-breaker from Harbor Freight and never used the clamp again. I can buy a lot of 2x6 for $50. Plus less storage room. I picked up one of those little HF Bead Breakers a number of years ago for $15 after using one of those HF coupons. After breakin beads with 2x4's, car method like above, C-Clamps, 16 inch Channel Locks and even beating them loose by standing on the tire and using a heavy wrecking bar - gotta say that little bead breaker is the best 15 bucks I ever spent.. Sure makes the tire change routine a lot easier I tell ya cause those beads can be a formittable challenge unless your !!
GaryZ Posted January 9, 2017 Share #10 Posted January 9, 2017 I can buy a lot of 2x6 for $50. Plus less storage room. I bought mine last year, paid around $25 and it hangs on the wall.
