Owen Posted March 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2011 Wouldn't it be great to ride your way through that list?!
Michael_Bishop Posted March 17, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 17, 2011 That would be nice to do. I'm surprised they did not have the 555 in Ohio. I have not rode it but was told by a nighbor that it is a long fun road. We rode over in 2008 and rode the 536. Going to go over this year and do the 555. Reddog170 Posted March 17, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 17, 2011 I really want to check out Tail of the Dragon. I have not been on any of the roads on that list. But that one just intrigues me ever sense I saw a video of it. Shaun
SMSgt Posted March 17, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 17, 2011 I've ridden on a few of them there is some beautiful riding here in our great land. I did notice one thing though, none of the roads started with I or Interstate. I'll do Beartooth pass again during or after the Cody Ralley this summer. rumboogy Posted March 17, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2011 Sometimes beauty is in the EYE OF THE BEHOLDER!! I find it very hard to believe that Route 66 did not make the top 15. I would "Venture" (no pun intended) to say that more people have ridden (and enjoyed) Route 66 than ALL the other roads put together! Not only that, Route 66 (The Mother Road) is all about the American way of life and what better way to enjoy America than to ride this anthem of history on a bike, or in a convertible or with a hotrod! I have done parts of THE ROUTE 5 times and every time I am fascinated by the contradiction of a dying culture against the beauty of those trying to preserve and survive the BIG INTERSTATES. I'm not knocking those that DID make the top 15, but to leave out Route 66 is just a shame...it's like turning your back on your parents!
Marcarl Posted March 17, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 17, 2011 Guess nobody there rode north of the border. In my eyes there is no nicer road anywhere, than Madeleine Road near Brantford,,,,,, it leads to HOME!!!! and away from home. It's the road I ride most often. rentalguy1 Posted March 18, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 18, 2011 Nice to see numbers 2 and 3 are a day ride for me. Sad to see that US Hwy 421 from NE TN to NW NC, aka the Snake, didn't make the list, though.
GaStar Posted March 18, 2011 Share #10 Posted March 18, 2011 I could easily do number 7, 3 or number 2 just about any weekend. Nice list. Better get cracking huh. Lol
hig4s Posted March 18, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 18, 2011 I did PCH years ago, both on bike and in a car. did Cherohala and Dragons Tail a few years back on the bike. And did some of the Virgina portion of the Blue Ridge last year, but only in a car.

Tylytle Posted May 8, 2011 Share #13 Posted May 8, 2011 I'm suprised Talamena Drive isn't on the list. It's in Eastern OK. Very nice ride.

midnightventure Posted May 8, 2011 Share #15 Posted May 8, 2011 There aren't any Arkansas roads on there. I have ridden a lot of route 66 through Mo and for scenery Rt 66 doesn't compare to the roads on the list that I have ridden or driven or most roads in NW Arkansas. Gary N. Posted May 9, 2011 Share #19 Posted May 9, 2011 I did #4 with the space shuttle after the Fort Collins Rally. Have to admit, it would have been a lot more fun on the bike.
