I rode in to work then left the office a little early to do some work on the observatory that I help run... Getting it ready to have a few astronomy labs out there this semester. Then what is usually a 10 mile ride home from the observatory took me about 1.5 hours... I took the sort-of scenic route :)

It certainly was not a day of fishing...

i knew i had stuff to do, so the first thing is did was take the scoot for a short run to the barber shop. small town barbershop, sort of like mayberry. we swap out, i cut his hair, he cuts mine. then back on the scoot for the 5 mile ride home.

the word bad in the phrase bad gas is just that. i spent a good part of the day workin on the lawn mower carb. it runs, just not as good as before bad gas. it limp out the rest of the season. more yard work tomorrow. maybe a ride sunday on the RSV.

Went to Lighthouse Cove for some fresh perch for lunch. Round trip was probably 400 kms or so. Crossed paths with Gary N along the way too :D

Cheers,

I live 70 miles from work, and when the van pool isn't running (weekends), I take the TD. Today, after going over the hill on the 138, heading to I-15, I was startled (understatement) by thunder, or so I thought. It kept going, and I finally saw the F-18 passing low and fast. I started to relax, when his partner came by, too. Startled? I almost had to clean my pants. After having spent the last 14 years helping to build them, once I got over the initial embarrassment, I was so proud to have been a part of the team that put them together.

Nice easy day ... 80 mile round trip to watch our two grandsons play PW football. 8-year old, one tackle on defense and a couple of good blocks on offense. 10-year grandson, two tackles on defense, on great fake reverse (plays WR), and a couple of good blocks. 3-year old, tackled grandpa :).

on wed 16 i took a 460 mi PGR mission escorting a fallen union soldier from bear mountain ny to saratoga springs ny, the mission started in antitam maryland where his remains were found. we left bear mountain with maybe 40 riders and when we reached saratoga we had over 150 members, most folks stayed over for the funeral ceremony the following day but i had to get home, but i was humbled to participate in a portion of this ride. PS there were two other ventures there, a 1st gen belonging to a forum member, and a second gen

Yesterday we put about 300 miles on the bike, went to Traverse City Mi. to a corn maze- was kinda cool http://www.jacobs-corn-maze.com/corn_maze_fun.htm after that we went to the local Hooters for some wings. On the way we passed a giant field of pumkins. So we decided to try out our new trailer and went back up today for a few. actually this link has last years maze picture in it-- This year was 2 eagles
