  1. Yesterday
  2. It felt like Spring over the last three days here in SE Pa. Today we are at 54° and feels like 44°. Crazy roller coaster like temps. For my sanity, I already put away the snow blower.
  3. Your meter looks like it can measure AC and Resistance. From what I can remember and read, measure resistance (usually at 200 Ohms) between the different phases of the stator...Phase 1, 2 and 3 and off course the AC voltage between the wire terminals by which documentation should measure between 40 to 70 volts. Documentation online states to check your manufacturers specs to compare what you get. It is recommended to check the bike's service manual for the correct specs. I've never done it, but just be careful. Best of luck.
  4. Still fairly cold and rainy (chance of light snow maybe) but was out yesterday (finally) for first ride of the year!!
  5. tried to enter this elsewhere but couldn't! Want to try and test stator and voltage regulator as bike hasn't been charging like it should (carry spare battery in saddle bag)! Looked up in maintenance area and pretty sure my tester doesn't have same settings needed to test right. What settings can I use on this tester. Think I need one for AC test. Any help!
  6. Still riding my 88 Venture Royale, here is the latest pic I had taken, last year on a ride to Arkansas. The other bike is my brothers 1984 Kawasaki Voyager. I guess we are partial to old bikes, being cheapskates, or a little of both.
  7. Now why would I do that, I might make one for Bobbi 😁
  8. Are you saying that Goldwings are for Geezers?🤣
  9. Best of luck on your journey towards success. Your skillset is highly desirable and you will never run out of options. I remember talking to a fellow amateur radio operator and he was talking about being certified to fly drones. I really looks to be a lot of fun to fly drones. Take care and hope you get the chance to put some ride in despite your busy schedule.
  10. Well so okay, maybe not that old, but if I ride by on a Goldwing, you certainly wouldn't think I was a young man!
  11. Last week
  12. Have you made my reservations yet?
  13. Asheville is still on, just a different KOA
  14. Works fine from here.
  15. My 85 now gone and my present ride, when and if I ride.
  16. There are days I think I would like to take the 85 out for a rip, but then when I go look for where I left it, it's not there,, it seems to be gone,, left,, disappeared...................
  17. I could only dream of a scoot at 33, and then only maybe. Just had the last of 6 kids that needed guidance.
  18. You can come to the Airshow in Charleston in May.
  19. Thinking about what Lisa and I have going on this Summer and haven't seen any planned get-togethers mentioned close enough to the homestead (Central OH) to go to. I remember the good 'ol days when we could pick 'n choose. WNY rally, Vogel, Maintenance day...and so on. Anybody puttin' anything together?
  20. I remember 33. Had a lot of fun way back then.
  21. Very nice. But if you think that 33 is getting old, you need to get you mind straight. Heck, I’m more than double that. I don’t even remember being 33.
  22. Glad to hear that things are good and you're over your headcold. No idle hands for you I suppose. Its been busy around here too. Still going to school, I have 6 classes left until graduation, I just took a Certified Survey Technician Level 2 test for work which was 4 hours long and I'm working on getting my Part 107, SUAS drone license, so I feel your business.
  23. Hello and Good evening. I've been around, but have been working too much. Over the last two weeks, I've always been called in to work over the weekend and has been steadily busy at work and at home. Most of the time, I am around but was fighting a head cold last week and wasn't up to par. Now, I am much much better and this week is my Spring break vacation. Not really going anywhere...simply working around the house and cleaning up after a harsh winter season. Today and tomorrow, we have contractors replacing all of our old windows so it has been active in the homefront. Great to hear from you and keep in touch with everyone here. I'll be around tomorrow and no riding yet until I get to do my first grass cut. Have a great Tuesday!
  24. Still have my 88 Venture Royale! I put about 10k miles a year on. We had our first child last year, so it was hard getting it done but I did it. Even did an iron butt last year. The year before I rode with my mom, she has a 2005 goldwing trike to Washington and back from Nebraska. So we're still out here!
  25. That must have been quite the power nap! Haven't seen you post on this thread for awhile! I'm terrible about lurking and not actually saying anything. We need more people like you out there! Hope everything is going well!
  26. We sure appreciate it, for $12 bucks a year, I'll let it keep paying. This site has done much more for me than the money that I've spent on it has cost. Love you all!
  27. Ladies and gentlemen, at a ripe old age of 32 (soon to be 33 in May), I must admit I'm feeling my age somewhat... We took a trip to Kansas City on Saturday and pulled the trigger on this little beauty! She's a 2012 GL1800 Comfort/Audio. It was advertised as ABS but I don't believe it actually has ABS equipped. Its got 59,000 miles and we picked it up for $8,500. I still have the 1988 Yamaha Venture. I've had that bike for 12 years, bought it with 22,300 miles and it now has 112,000 miles. I started to feel it was getting sort of long in the tooth, and since having the carbs out again this winter and having it idle better than it ever has, I finally cussed when it started idling not perfect (still idles good, just not perfect) and decided it was time for an upgrade. I've been around Goldwings my whole life and have ridden several 1800s. The original goal was to get a 2021 + Goldwing, but after sitting and thinking on it, financially it makes more sense to stay with the last generation. Plus I love this color. I think its beautiful. The sound system on this 2012 is better than the 6th Gen Goldwings that I have ridden. I now need to go through it, change all the fluids, add some highway pegs and maybe look at new windshield. We live about 200 miles from Kansas City and I rode it home in 48 degree weather. Those heated grips and seat make a huge difference. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the Venture or not. Its been a great bike for me all these years, but I've done almost all the kinds of different maintenance and I'm starting to feel as though I'd like to find another, smaller bike to maybe start to restore. Anyway! Safe travels everyone!
