My 85 now gone and my present ride, when and if I ride.

There are days I think I would like to take the 85 out for a rip, but then when I go look for where I left it, it's not there,, it seems to be gone,, left,, disappeared...................

I could only dream of a scoot at 33, and then only maybe. Just had the last of 6 kids that needed guidance.

Thinking about what Lisa and I have going on this Summer and haven't seen any planned get-togethers mentioned close enough to the homestead (Central OH) to go to. I remember the good 'ol days when we could pick 'n choose. WNY rally, Vogel, Maintenance day...and so on. Anybody puttin' anything together?

Hello and Good evening. I've been around, but have been working too much. Over the last two weeks, I've always been called in to work over the weekend and has been steadily busy at work and at home. Most of the time, I am around but was fighting a head cold last week and wasn't up to par. Now, I am much much better and this week is my Spring break vacation. Not really going anywhere...simply working around the house and cleaning up after a harsh winter season. Today and tomorrow, we have contractors replacing all of our old windows so it has been active in the homefront. Great to hear from you and keep in touch with everyone here. I'll be around tomorrow and no riding yet until I get to do my first grass cut. Have a great Tuesday!

Still have my 88 Venture Royale! I put about 10k miles a year on. We had our first child last year, so it was hard getting it done but I did it. Even did an iron butt last year. The year before I rode with my mom, she has a 2005 goldwing trike to Washington and back from Nebraska. So we're still out here!

Ladies and gentlemen, at a ripe old age of 32 (soon to be 33 in May), I must admit I'm feeling my age somewhat... We took a trip to Kansas City on Saturday and pulled the trigger on this little beauty! She's a 2012 GL1800 Comfort/Audio. It was advertised as ABS but I don't believe it actually has ABS equipped. Its got 59,000 miles and we picked it up for $8,500. I still have the 1988 Yamaha Venture. I've had that bike for 12 years, bought it with 22,300 miles and it now has 112,000 miles. I started to feel it was getting sort of long in the tooth, and since having the carbs out again this winter and having it idle better than it ever has, I finally cussed when it started idling not perfect (still idles good, just not perfect) and decided it was time for an upgrade. I've been around Goldwings my whole life and have ridden several 1800s. The original goal was to get a 2021 + Goldwing, but after sitting and thinking on it, financially it makes more sense to stay with the last generation. Plus I love this color. I think its beautiful. The sound system on this 2012 is better than the 6th Gen Goldwings that I have ridden. I now need to go through it, change all the fluids, add some highway pegs and maybe look at new windshield. We live about 200 miles from Kansas City and I rode it home in 48 degree weather. Those heated grips and seat make a huge difference. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the Venture or not. Its been a great bike for me all these years, but I've done almost all the kinds of different maintenance and I'm starting to feel as though I'd like to find another, smaller bike to maybe start to restore. '01 RSV (the one with the orange helmet) Still ride this one too...'82 Yamaha XV920 (didn't sell it) And just picked up this lil project - hasn't been cranked since 2008...carbs are a mess. '77 CB750A Hondamatic So haven't actually ridden it yet.. But 3 bikes - that makes me officially a collector now, right?

OK; here's the update. Finally got it up and apart. Found stator plug (I hope that's it-see pic), unplugged it; cleaned it and ran stator checks. Passed all tests; resistance was within specs and no continuity. Dielectriced it and plugged it back in. Replaced SCCR again (had a new spare lying around); also greased that plug. Pulled lowers; found other fuse box (!!!) and regulator. A bitch to get at behind and below radiator, but swapped it out (also greased plug). Changed oil (as long as I had it up); filter can wait till next change. Unplugged fuse for audio (everything goes to my helmet by Bluetooth) because handlebar unit was being wonky every once in a while. Reassembled trike; only 1 extra screw... (I know where that and from; left lower rear bushing wore out. I need to order a couple of new ones.) Current current (I couldn't resist...) reads 13.1 at idle and 14.4 while running at road speed. Oe wondering if that's too high? Doesn't get above 14.5; wonder if all the wobbly charging currents recently have weakened or fried the battery. I still have 12.3v when I turn the key... 2012 RSV. I definitely get seen when night riding, even wired my undercarriage lighting to go all red when I hit the brakes!

Thank you Freebird, appreciate you! Leaving mine on autopay as its well worth it too me. I DIY everything & if I don't know how to do a project I wanna do, I learn how. Saved a ton of time & money having this forum with all the knowledgeable members when I 1st got my RSV in 2021 and started tearing it apart. Its been such a great bike, super reliable and never plan to get rid of it.
