@N3FOL Yes it is! It is our HST(Federal tax) and PST(Provincial tax)which we pay on all purchases except food which is PST only! So when I bought my parts it cost me $48can in tax.
-
That 13% tax is a little on the high don't you think? You are probably used to it by now. I was not aware Canada has that much on sales tax.
-
@RDawsonThanks for the information and offer, have a couple more dealers to try yet! Probably just use some gasket material I have leftover from gasket I made for clutch cover last fall to save time!

Partzilla shows to have the gasket in stock. I think I have one if you don’t find it.
-
@N3FOL OEM parts from Yamaha dealer is $585can + 13%tax for the Stator, which is on back-order! Almost $300can +13%tax for the Voltage Regulator(which is available) so much better deal with a part that people say is better!
-
You did the right thing. Priorities first aka family matters before riding. Friday delivery is not too far away.
-
Glad you are able to get the parts you need despite some minor issues with the gasket. I was just thinking, those bike parts are not cheap at all. Best of luck and sounds like the weekend is maintenance day for you.
-
@N3FOLyes I finally stopped procrastinated and on the way to fix, miss ridding but things were always coming up that had to take care of first!
-

Thanks again to @Marcarlfor his help on Saturday morning to help me check my Stator! I'm in the process of pricing out a new Stator and gaskets. Dealer wants $550can and is on back order right now. Went to another shop and they can get me a Ricks Stator for $340can + tax and is in-stock. Phantom Wife says to get one and nobody has the gasket for Cover2 but I can get the Cover1 gasket! Not going to buy a replacement Voltage Regulator as it over $250can and @Marcarl opinion is the old one should be OK!

Need to wash my van today as well. 68°F for a high and lots of sun today.

Finished up a shop project and yesterday took a ride on the trike maybe about 2 hours. came back home and started loading the camper. Now I'm washing the truck and the camper hoping to get to use it later.

Good morning to all! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was a busy weekend for me worked and spent some family time yesterday. Sunny and mild today. So many things to do, but I'll do them one small step at a time. First in line...cut the grass. Have a great week.

Your welcome Ron. Glad you got to put it to use. -
Okay I have never done the carbs on one of these bikes but I have now so thanks to everyone that had some input I rode the bike today and it runs better than it has since the FIL has had it. A special thanks to Motorcycle Mike I used the carb tune that I got from him and it worked great.

Hi all, sorry for not being here for a while. Life gets in the way with health problems, but all is well now. I did pick up a couple older bikes. One is a 95 Harley Road King with 37548 miles I got from my brother when he passed. the other is a 78 Yamaha 550 that my son and I are restoring.
-
I wish someone would have talked me out of this, but hopefully I'll get it back together. It's just shop time.
-
If I had used my whiskey the carbs would not have been dirty.

What you get from burning your whiskey instead of drinking it.
