So....I wonder if you were to remove the hose from the master cylinder and immerse it in a container of brake fluid and try the vacuum bleeder at the wheel cylinder....would it draw through the hose? If not, then that would seem to indicate an issue withing the brake tubing between the master / slave cylinder.

OK, I rebuilt the master cylinder and reinstalled. Can not get to pump back up. I tried to use a vacuum bleeder and got some fluid to go down some in the reservoir, but can not get any more to go down, all while holding vacuum on the bleeder. Tried pumping the pedal slowly with vacuum, still not fluid going down. I tried a 1 man bleeder that I just purchased and can not get fluid at bleeder valve at rear brake. I'm at my wits end. Any advice and help will be appreciated. . Tomorrow I will try reverse bleeding by using a big syringe that I bought a Orileys. Hope thar helps. Thank you in advance

I go to Batteries+ Bulbs. I have a 5yr AGM I'm my 07 RSTD. If it fails all I have to do is take it back and get a new one. They go by your phone number to find your receipt.

Likewise on this end...planning to do some moderate riding around and take advantage of the nice weather all weekend long and up until Labor day. I wear a fitness band on my wrist all day and it keeps track of my activities including steps, workout activities and one of them is heart rate. I find it comforting to know that my heart rate drops all the way down to 50, when I ride and simply enjoy the wind. With that said, relax and enjoy the ride.

Rode to the office today. Been able to get in more and more. Wife is still a little scared of me riding after the stroke but just taking it easy and not pressing it. With the Monday holiday hoping the weather holds out and I can get in a couple hundred miles.

The MC is very simple. Nothing to rebuilding it. I disassembled mine but the seals looked fine so I didn't use my new kit. The RSV is notorious for having a too powerful rear brake so something is definitely wrong with yours. I would bleed it more and if that didn't fix it I might put new seals in the MC. Is the caliper working smoothly and releasing quickly like it should? You might need to rebuild the caliper.

You said you used synthetic fluid. What DOT number is it? DOT 5 is not compatible with our brakes. DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are compatible.

Does anyone know the size of the carb air intake on a 98 RSTD? I'm getting two different results when I search. 28 MM and 32 MM. I have had enough with the big ugly air box on this scoot! I'm changing to pods.

It is more or less ok to ride but you’ll get a pogo effect. If it’s just leaking oil, you can repair it.

I washed the Venture today and after backing it back in the shop to put it back together, I noticed some oil dripping underneath the center of the bike. Looked it over and it looks like the shock is leaking. A couple of questions here. Will it hurt to continue to ride the bike with a bad shock? And second, who can I get to rebuild this shock? Thanks for any help.

Nice ride. If I get rid of my Venture, I am thinking of getting a lighter cruiser and a trike for long rides with the wife. IF, she doesn't want to take her Spyder.

My riding has slowed considerably since Loretta won't ride and now I work remote. I would put ~500 miles a week on the bike when it was my daily commute.

If ever I decide to explore the darkside, BF Goodrich T/A Radial is on top of my list. I am not sure though if my 'go to' motorcycle shop will mount a car tire for me here in Pa.
