  2. Here's a link to the Nova Scotia Biker's website. http://www.novascotiabikers.com There are a lot of good links here. Under the "Links" button is where the travelling around the province links are stored. A general link I found for biker friendly accomodations. http://www.bike-stay.net
  3. Just got back from a 2 week trip to Nova Scotia, we traveled through some beautiful scenary in NY, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine...though some of Maine's roads were in bad shape....We passed Mt Washington where some of the locals told us that it had the highest wind gusts anywhere. On the way across we stayed in Syracuse, St Johnsburg and St Johns NB then on to Baddeck in Cape Breton. We did the Cabot Trail which was gorgeous then down to Sackville just out of Halifax to our campsite. We saw the tall ships in Halifax and boarded quite a few, went down to Peggy's Cove and saw the Swiss Air monument, then Lunenburg...which was the sunniest day we had, when we got back to the camp ground we had a lobster feast set up and went through 24 lbs between 8 of us and only cost $50 a couple. On the way back we went through Lake Placid, then crossed Lake Champlain on the ferry from Burlington. In all we did 6000 km, had a great time in spite of the lousey weather and no problem with the bike at all, unlike the Hondas that went, one of the Valkyries had his alternator crap out...$1100 to get another...the other had his rear brakes go and a Gold wing had to have the rear tire replaced. Sorry we couldn't make the Rally, just to much going on at the moment. Hope everyone has fun. 5. As I was going through a lot of messages and seeing various people's ride stat maps, I realized that if you live in a central mid-continent area, you have a heck of a lot more choice as to where to go without repeating yourself.. Living out here in Nova Scotia, we have to drive the same 8 to 10 hours before we can start seeing something new lol. Once we hit Bangor Maine we can go south or west.. once you leave northern NB, you have.. erhm Quebec and then Ontario. All large provinces with tons to see mind you. Though we live in a small province, I've yet to ride into another area that has as strong a rider community as we do here, or as picturesque.. And yes, the roads are slowly but surely improving.. little by bumpy little.. but it's pretty. However, the old saying stays.. it's all about the ride. Having said all that, its time to hop on the bike and go explore some more of this marvelous place called Nova Scotia. Cheers!! Happy Canada Day! Knees to the Breeze!
  6. Hey guys, My wife and I are going to Nova Scotia this August with some other couples on our bikes. How is the weather in August and is there any advantage to going earlier in the month. We're trying to pack as light as possible. Thanks in advance, Eddie Flinchum
