The answer being you do NOT want to tow a shaft drive for any distance at all without risking damage to the drive train. You would need to remove the driveshaft to tow any distance at all... It bent my trailer hitch like it was a wet noodle. Ended up renting a trailer. I think something like this would be fine for a small or mid-sized chain drive bike, but I would be reluctant to use one on anything bigger than say a 500cc bike. I would cut the weight limit in half. And I don't think I want to propel a shaft drive backwards through the rear wheel. Methinks the transmission would protest.
