Correct Eck, except the facility itself has not recognized the VR event. They have 3 days which are blocked for another event during the week we are there. I know I'm not crazy...

I just called and it's still not showing up. Still can't get a reservation. sent you an email. It is not showing up there. I called 800 622 4121 and 304 866 4121. The Canaan Valley resort. Am I contacting the wrong place?

Slowrollwv, i did call and mention the venture rider group. The one person apparantly doesn't know about it. Do you have a name or contact? I want to wrap this up ASAP. lastly, my name is BArry, not BErry.... Thanks

thank you executive for your decision. I don't recall in the past being this difficult for time and place. Anyway, good will see you fine folks there. Tom, I should be doing Mt.Dora as well.

now im more confused. jaxsons or watering hole. i would like to know asap so I can make arrangements. better yet, despite on where, more importantly is WHEN? Is the 23rd the sold date?

I called the lodge today after trying to book days online for the cabin. The website shows 3 days specifically blocked off, meaning no availability. these dates are Tuesday through Thursday. I thought maybe it was because of us, so I called. I spoke to a guy there who stated those dates are blocked by a WV company that books there yearly and takes up a lot of the rooms. i also asked about the regular hotel and was told the same. Can someone tell me if we have anything saved for the state park? No one there seems to have any idea we are showing up there. Or...maybe im just not sure whats going on. I was told there are other resorts that are near that Caanan state park. these are: Blackwater resort, golden Anchor cabins, Alpine, Windfly. can anyone tell me where exactly some, most, all, are actually staying? If its at the state park, can you tell me how to get those dates. It is Sept. 26-29th right? Thanks for any clarification.

Has the date been determined as the 23rd? has the location been determined to Jaxsons or another? I will need to know the date more importantly as I may be working Eck, when you get to Sarasota, call me. We can certainly do some riding. The Amish place Yoders is there, great food. I'm down for that

Few things... For mounting: the suction cup works VERYwell and I was concerned about it falling off etc. the suction cup is fantastic with zero issues they also make a clamp and you can buy a short goose neck piece if you want to extend it beyond the normal clamp. They can go on crash bars, passenger arm rest, trunk etc. they also have an extender, a mono pole which can /can not be extended. For the wife to hold or use, or to clamp on to the bike. I have the suction cup, clamp, handlebar, 2 helmet top and side and mono pole. Each to get a different perspective. The helmet version, top and side does not affect your head or neck in terms of pain, just weird depending on what you turn to see. Suction cup and clamp work great for me Batteries: I got pissed when my batteries would die, which is a known go pro issue on the 3, but allegedly improved on the 4. After coming back from Bryson city and getting really upset w the battery, ( and I have 2 batteries but can't really change while on the road) I purchased a wasabi battery extender which gives 3-4x battery life. It attached to back of go pro and comes with extended waterproof cover, so far zero issues or complaints SD card: I agree with previous posting of San disk and get the highest amount of GB you can afford initially go pro is a bit of a PITA to get it how you want, but add a few accessories, extended battery and some trial and error on locations to place on the bike, it's not a bad machine. OH... Someone mentioned depending on where it is, they can't control the camera. You can get a wi FI remote, which works well but that also drains battery life. However for riding the bike, saving time and SD card, it's a great tool. Hope some of this helps...

2015 riding season, what did you do for milage this year?
Barrycuda replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
My goal each year is minimum 10,000 miles. Achieved that in 2014, this past year 6,8xx on Goldwing, 580 on Vulcan and perhaps 80 miles on Sunns CB900F. I've been incredibly busy with working and college classes, as well as the grueling Florida summer w high humidity. That alone reduces my riding as I am AGATT. That isn't going to change this year either, however I will crack 10k his year... -
Eck, its sad to say but this country is no longer interested in doing things right. I mean all you veterans must be sick thinking about all you have went through and fought for, seeing this now. Customer service in this country for the most part sucks . Typical corporate vanilla jargon where one reads from a script, one can not think anymore for themselves. Sears is another example of selling out to save costs and not profit. You're a rare egg Eck, I wish more like you were here on the planet. But you're on the endangered list my friend. Stay safe

Update of Mary Nicole.........our Vogel visitor
Barrycuda replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
Absolutely awesome news. Thanks for the update -
Happy story Eck. Glad to hear you're doing well. If you ever find new front and rear tires for the wing at the thrift store, make sure ya call your Brooklyn buddy...

Songs your friends would be surprised to hear you listening to....
Barrycuda replied to bj66's topic in Watering Hole
Ok, I'll post but hold on to your hats....I normally listen to heavy metal, progressive metal from Europe to be more precise. The heavier and louder the better. That said, as a former professional musician, ( yes it's true) I listened to everything to hone my craft. For me on the bike, you might hear one of my guilty pleasures when I'm on the bike:Rick James' Mary Jane, Abbas dancing queen, Teddy Pendergast Love TKO. Last year my NY brother Sunn was down and these rough Harley riders were at the light and here we/I pull up blasting Rick James, ha ha. The look on their faces. They'd have the same look as they'd see another time or place a Goldwing rider blasting testament or annilialtor at full volume.... -
I also have a separate docking station as I like to just transfer the radio from car to bike. Very simple. For your RSV, as others stated you can run the wires and listen through aux port. TSSradio sells a shorter 4 foot antenna which is what I use for my bike. I used a bracket made by RAM for the holding part of the docking station and velcro a strip on the brake reservoir cap and a piece of metal, then zip tied the metal w Velcro on the reservoir to keep metal from shifting during motion. This is where I placed my antenna. I will send a pic bc I know it's hard to understand, but if you wanted a portable one without having to plait the fairing etc, this is an easy way. BTW, mine is on a wing, but same principle for RSV....

Low potassium and sodium counts that are off will contribute like others said. Try adding pedialyte to your diet. Either drink solo or dilute w water. This is also great for recovery of soreness and feeling low energy. They make a chocolate milk version which I haven't tried. Orange is the best flavor. We use it after we train in Muay Thai and Jiu jitsu. Simply works.,more start saving your appetite for those 100 bananas. If they cramps continue, you'd might want to go get them checked out

+1 there. I have been involved with past and current sites that do not have the sincerity and warmth in helping others as this site does. And....I agree with V7goose and others, to remove the wing section, and I own a wing!!! I get technical info from my pal Eck, and Steve K and a few others, no need for a whole section. It's the people. Not the ride. 1000 solid members beats 10,000 members who are all over the place every time. Remove FB if you choose also as it seems people find it an interference or a hinderance in keeping this site flowing smoother...

Ok Don you asked for it... I would be pretty ticked off if this site pulled the plug. Many reasons are personal but this one is worth mentioning. There are people, couples etc that are made to feel welcome from either interactions in person or online. They aren't judged for where they live, what they ride, how the speak and what they wear. This is a FAMILY. And sometime you don't always see Uncle Ned or Aunt Jennie but they are still FAMILY. I have compared this site, the people and its willingness to be warm, caring people to other sites, motorcycle and other sites non MC. I ALWAYS and I mean always ( ask Eck) want other sites and people to be like us here. If not for this site, I'd never learn about taking chances on working on my bike, riding to new venues, out of state places, meeting people who I'd never meet any other time. As a new member and rider n 2013, I was a sponge of info, and I still can be. There will be always someone who "discovers" a road star or royal star seen in rallies or on the road. RSV is unique, original, special. Just like all of us here. I'm very grateful to meet carbon one, Eck, b2mom and dad, buddy, Karen, gez, Capt.D, djh3, crazy gaucho, cowpuc and tippy, brake pad, Steve K, Yammer Dan, slow roll, Kim, Big Mike and Cheri, the Harley guys,Aussie Annie and Al, and anyone else I've been fortunate enough to meet. I would have never take a chance on riding to Vogel, and tail of dragon if I didn't have the confidence and being comfortable around our people, our FAMILY. So, perhaps tweak it, streamline it, make some adjustments, but to disband it totally in my opinion would be a colossal mistake of epic proportions. Believe it or not, although I don't participate much online due to family and school obligations. This is THE site I check and read first and foremost.

That's sounds good to me Tom. As long as im not working and my travel isn't 200 miles each way. The last 6-7 weeks have been grueling for any sort of plans for me.

Lets go back in time,, how old were you when you got your very 1st bike?
Barrycuda replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
My first bike was a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 FI model which I still have today. Many people as amazed at its great condition. I was 33 years old. -
[quote=cowpuc;944265 I need to get a message to him. The above bike is the one I was referring to a few months ago when I mentioned which Harley I wanted for Christmas. Please make a copy of this if you would and give it to him. Back then we all had discussed what our favorite scoots were and that someone (I think it was Freebird) mentioned he liked the Springers too after I mentioned this bike. The problem is, Harley made more than one style of Springer. THIS is the style I was referring to. PS, if you do this for me and it works out - I will personally meet you at one of my 2016 Greet-Meet and Eat Meats on it and will get you all the best of the best Hot Dogs and Chips you can eat!! Ya got my word!! Thanks!! Puc my daughter is writing a letter to Santa and we are mailing it today. We can sneak that in between the Barbie movie and one of her other million requests... btw, what year and model is that ?
