    Rain

Has the TCI been relocated? Are those "Pain in the @$$" shields that are located above the front cylinders still in place? I think those shields are really important in preventing water from in around the TCI and coils, etc. I have ridden Big Red hundreds of continuous miles in heavy rain and not a misfire. The most recent was August 20th from Paducah, Ky to Knoxville, Tn (300 miles) in almost continuous rain and some of it was torrential.
  2. I have made my living as a Self Employed/Small Business for 35 1/2 years. Nothing is more empowering than success! The financial rewards can be great! There are a few things to consider. Are you well enough funded to make it through the hard times. Employees get paid first. There have been successive months that I got no pay. There was a couple of times that I was upside down and was doing everything I could to just stop the bleeding. The risks and rewards are huge. And like said above "Nothing is more empowering than success" Insurance: Business Liability, Worker Compensation as well as your's and your families health insurance, etc. Family responsibilities I have enjoyed success but it was a long time coming. The time of my greatest sacrifice happened when I could least afford it. Would I do it again if I knew then what I know now... all things considered... I don't have an answer... The considerations are many... and your decision is your's to make. Ponder the possibilities and make your best decision. Of all of the advice that you receive, the best advice will come from that "Little voice inside". Whatever your decision, go forward with fervor and don't look back. Good luck! I'll be pulling for you no matter... Heather

  6. Hard soldering them is a positive fix when new connectors are not available. But, I'd prefer to replace the faulty part if I can get my hands on it. I think the failure of some of these connectors is simply a result of "Birthday Disease" and with the correct replacement those connectors will be good for another quarter century or more.
  7. @Marcarl whatcha think? I probably should have started here.

  9. Need input @Flyinfool Condor Freebird bongobobny Venturous Randy @cowpuc Yammer Dan djh3 Dragonslayer camos on Comet, and Cupid, On Donner and Blitzen? The three way connector for the stator wires is a known issue that has caused lots of charging problems. I think I have located a source. I'm considering either including them and perhaps some other connectors with the cables or offering them as an option/stand alone purchase. What other "nearly impossible to find" connectors would be good to include/offer? The responses here will greatly influence the amount of effort I devote to locating the correct ones and how they are offered. Input please

  15. It doesn't seal around the exhaust pipes. I designed it after the exhaust ventilation that is part of the dynamometer inside the local motorcycle performance shop. Their's has a hugely larger draw and it doesn't seem to effect anything. The 4" flex duct is quite a bit larger than the exhaust pipes and that squirrel cage realy does move a huge amount of air... but it is enough to move the exhaust to the outside of the building.

  17. I'm pretty sure the firing order is the same. If the firing order were different then the valve timing would be different also, thus requiring different cams tat would not interchange.

  21. The price has been lowered. I think I might buy it and put it up for sale on this site for like maybe 50 bucks. Do you know anybody that might need one?
  22. How about posting a pic of the gs valve tool or even better a link.
