  1. 4 kits @ 27.95 = 111.80 8 plugs @ 5.95 = 47.60 shipping = 8.95 Total 168.30 (I rounded to 170) What did you come up with?
  2. I have the carbs on my 84 Venture disassembled and cleaned. Now for the parts needed. My research shows that Dellorto carbs in the Netherlands has the best price. They are the only place I have found main and idle jet rubber plugs for a reasonable price: $5.95 each. Their kit is complete down to the screws for the covers. 4 complete kits and the plugs and shipping comes to $170.00. Has anyone found a more reasonable price?
  3. In my humble opinion, I feel that one month is not enough to get the "feel" of this group. Why don't you hang around a few months, get to know everyone, and as Freebird says, RELAX. There is something for all riders here. You will find that your opinion is valued and considered, but not necessarily sacred. Puc has earned a lot of stripes, however I suspected him of being wrong once, but was unable to prove it!
  4. I have a friend that has 2 tickets to the super bowl on the 50 yard line. He is very patriotic and so disgusted with the "kneeling during the anthem" that he left the tickets on the dash of his car in the Walmart parking lot and left the car unlocked. When he returned there were 3 tickets on the dash!
  5. Yep, and this is what its gonna look like:
  6. Well said! You get the good sportsmanlike award. :happy65::usa:
  7. Kinda hard to eat with an elephant stepping on you... Roll Tide! (It's a joke, PETA! Relax)
  8. Going to get some "motorcycle gas" is the best excuse I have heard in a while! Mind if I use it?
  9. Sorry for the loss of your friend. I'm sure Molly is telling the gate keeper what a great family she has.
  10. Ok Jeff!! You can point the nozzle on that white-washing machine back to Puc's area. I have all the once every 10 years pictures I need. :snow2:

    Why?

Why did I post that twice?

    Why?

Why did I have to scroll thru all those pictures to see if I could find out why? Why did I spend all that time changing each word to a different color? Who decided why and what were they thinking? Did you know why can be an adverb or an interjection? Why, of course you did!

  14. Never argue with math and physics! There are so many variables in this issue that I would have to vote with Flying Fool, however from a common sense approach to engine design based on today's norms and standard manufacturing methods and economic considerations, I certainly lean toward Puc's ideas. Besides, who wants to upset either one of these varmints, when you consider that one can cut off the supply of hot dogs and the other can dust you off with some gold danged winter machine! I aint votin!!
  15. Very timely video, Puc.. and also entertaining! I was planning to bleed the rear (and left front) brake tomorrow because they are spongy. Now I'm adding the proportioning valve and hoping for some solid braking. Thanks, and have another piece of candy, I won't tell.
  16. It wasn't the engineering department that designed the v-twin Venture. It was the finance department and the marketing department! Give them a year and I'll bet they start looking at hanging some saddlebags and a plush seat on the V-Max. (and maybe a cassette deck)
  17. I would be seriously interested as soon as I put another 260,000 on my '84!
  18. Back in the day we had a 4 digit phone number, and to call long distance you had to talk to an operator. .. and to go to the bathroom, you had to take a walk down a path.
  19. I like to party! I really want to go, but I have nothing to wear. :dancefool:
  20. I had a similar problem once with a Goldwing. When I began the ride, clutch was OK. After a few minutes the clutch started slipping. Turns out the small hole in the clutch fluid reservoir that lets fluid "return" after releasing clutch lever was stopped up. As the clutch and fluid warmed up, the trapped fluid expanded, causing the clutch to begin releasing. You can determine this by checking the play in the clutch lever when the clutch starts slipping after a short ride. If there is no play in the lever, chances are this is your problem.
  21. Anybody ever get "too big for their britches" when they were younger? How about threatened with a razor strap from your dad? Anybody know what a razor strap is?
