  1. Hello everyone, I tried to do a search but didn't get a "match" for my question. I recently bought a 2006 RSTD. It has bub pipes which make it a bit louder going down the road. I understand that 4th and 5th gear are overdrive gears. I feel that the bike is a more "revvy" at 75 mph or higher than I would have thought of a bike with two overdrive gears. I came off of an ST1300 which only started to wake up at 85 so maybe I'm just having to adapt to a new bike. I also wonder if the Bub's are just allowing the sound come through and it I'm hearing more exhaust. I really like the RSTD and plan to have it for a long time. I just wondered if everything is operating normally. Davo
  2. I bought a 2006 RSTD two months ago. It came with Bub's mufflers but the PO threw in the stock mufflers. I love the sound of the bubs. They seem to be rather quiet when idling and open up under acceleration. The sound levels off when cruising down the road. Everyone that hears them are impressed and nobody has said they are too loud. I may put the stockers back on someday but I really like the sound of the Bub's. I have never had aftermarket pipes on a bike before and almost all of my motorcycles have been Japanese 4-cylinders. I think the Bub's make the bike sound a bit revvy. Davo
  3. Jactana, Impressive trailer. Can you show a photo or two of the hitch that you use? I am interested in seeing how the hitch is mounted if possible. Davo
  4. I'm a new owner of a '06 RSTD. I bought the Progressive Suspension pump with a range from 0-60 psi. It takes about five minutes to air up both ends and from what I can tell, there was absolutely NO air loss while I was removing the pump. Airing the rear up to 40 psi resulted in a noticeable improvement in handling. There was about 10 psi when I started. I am keeping the front at 4-5 psi. The ride is somewhat firm but definitely NOT harsh or rough at these pressures. Davo
  5. I bought an 2006 RSTD with under 7000 miles about three weeks ago. It has Bub slip-ons and the popping. I'm interested in the results of installation of the jet kit as well. I would like to get rid of the popping if possible, but I can live with it as long as it doesn't hurt the bike or become full on back firing. The sound of the Bub's is perfect and I don't want to re-install the stock pipes.
