  1. Well I took the battery out of a 750 virago. It was new last summer. On the positive side of battery first cell. It was 3/4 empty of electrolyte. This bike never got rode but maybe two tanks of fuel. I thought froze and broke. Well filled it up but battery wont take charge. Is it possible for this bike to have way over charged battery in that short of time. Or did I buy a wally world reject. Also why just the one cell. This just seamed weird to me is all. ps. I turned the battery upside down probably at least 6 times.
  2. Well I checked the tire pressure and oil level. Then I saw a spot on the floor. OOO man rear shock giving up. Rode it up to j and p cycle with trailer in tow. On the way back hit a dip in the road, just about gutted me. Yep its done all the way. Was running good on way home. I been doing to much town crawling lately.
  3. what I thought it was the monsoon season while I was down there?
  4. Well I went into the tube. To see how other people were taking there rock hard tires off. I thought the video of taking a red hot knife and cutting a area out of the tire. Then dremiling the wire bead in half. I used a 6inch c clamp to put the bead in center of rim so it was not touching the rim. WELL the dremill was a joke. So I took a cutoff wheel on a die grinder and cut it in half. They showed just getting tip of knife red. I ended turning the first 2 inchs red. There was no effort in cutting, way easy.
  5. well I went to a plastic supplier and bought a small sheet. Then glued to back side to help hold together. If it was where I couldn't do that just put multiple layers of glue on. Never had problems. Just make shure to sand before glue. Never had trouble after fixing. By the way don't glue painted side. Unless there is a hole. I tried plastic welding to messy hurts paint.
  6. Well I bought ten foot ramps. when I tried to drive it in the back of van kept killing it at top of ramp. Its kind of scary going in a box with these bike. So after I had my boo boo I installed a winch. I also put a bolt in top of middle ramp permeant then drilled that size hole in truck bed. I could load and unload any where after that. The two outside ramps put 2x4 under as I have short legs. also strapped to hitch. Use a winch don't do what I did was not fun. TRUST ME.
  7. yep looks good. that front fender a lot better looking. I would want a different color. Probably would have to have it painted, ya right with my cash hahaha

    welcome to the club. I never know what I will want to work on. Not enough time in the day. ENJOY
  11. well its a bear to get too but you need to move it anyway. Take tci unscrew the box open it and see if its wet or green or burnt spots. then relocate it to top of air box. I just Velcro mine to air box lid. Clean as many connections as possible. Check ground locations.
  12. well today is the first time I've ever hit the rev limiter on new ignition. I'm glad it wasn't like a ign tec.... It just stutters don't just shut you down. This:12101: is on a dana 3000 box.
  13. Yes sir it is a lot easer with newer tires. Had to dismount and get rotation going the correct way. Even told myself to put it on correct.... What happened..... { rookies }
  14. Well I decided to change my own tire. I Used the c clamp method you spoke of. Got it done in a short time but would rather pay someone to do the job. It probably would have been easer if the tire was newer. Would do it again if it was the only way. But that's the only time for me. The front brake master was so stuck it took me along time to get it to move. Both front calipers were stuck real tight also. This was on a old 920 virago. How do I get into this stuff. lol:big-grin-emoticon:
  15. maybe you should check that fuse one more time it could be a left hand one and you tried to use it right handed

  18. well left mine out all night. Then got up this morning went to the local yama shop and picked up a gasket. It looked more like a hardly shop. Forgot where home was ran through a tank of fuel. The corn looks 10inchs high already. But I wasn't driving warp speed. I smell frost.......
  19. well I will stay in the city. all the part stores and eating places are close. and don't have to breath gravel dust or manure

  21. well I think a plane flew over and dropped a hot load on the seat. took a lot to get it all off
  22. dan I finilly went back out in garage. cleaned a few days then got motivated to get some stuff the way I want it. got some good tunes playing and knuckled down. don't think I can be much slower but making headway. my pin head has been thinking independ rear trike. after I get some stuff done and out of the way. triumph back half loose the body. or.........
  23. well I went for a short 15mile ride. left it parked behind garage. primed the 920s gas tank and side covers. Ended up having to put bike away. Tried to help build a fence at kids house.
