1. You had snow up there recently too, didn't you? Mother nature's "schedule" is a bit off here too as the weekends have generally been wet although we have had a few nice one's here and there. Today is forecast for sun and 17c so we'll be in the saddle for sure!
2. I've been called a "mother ...." a few times so, thanks!
3. This week's forecast. ... but, the only riding I'll be doing is from the seat of my office chair! :crying:
4. Lookin good there Brian! Are you sure that was taken May 9th? There's no leaves on the trees and the grass is all brown ....
5. on second look, I see it was Nina's thumb that is the second one ... so that's still one thumb for me Thought about that afterwards, but I don't have a "first" pic .. but here's a first after the paint work...
6. First pic of my new to me '06 RSMV with 1297 kms on it. This was in 2008 First pic of my '13 CCT with 3 kms on it. This was last year, May 14th.
7. That is awesome! Hope ya got more than one pic of that!
8. My '03 Wing had the Traxxion suspension upgrade and it was amazing in the twisties but I was always scraping the pegs. I do that too ... was Harley demo days last Sunday ... got rained out. Again at another dealer this coming sunday ... and rain in forecast all weekend
9. Or a Victory XCT or Vision .... these things handle the twisties better than any Wing (unless the Wing has Traxxion suspension). I've hit a few bad bumps while in a hard lean and the bike is remarkably stable. Difference between a Wing and a Vic is you'll scrape the pegs much sooner on the Wing.
10. Here is a thread or post that has a template for making your own. I made mine from a piece of 2" wide 1/8" thick aluminum. Cost almost nothing. check this link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=112227&postcount=7
11. That would suggest the tire was manufactured long before you bought it. There is a way to determine this but I forgot. Someone else will chime in maybe. I ran E3's on my RSV no problem with cracking and they are stock on my Vic.
12. Isn't wine made from grapes? So if we're drinking wine, aren't we drinking grape juice?

Sitting in my office chair, watching a remote tech support control one of my servers. Watch him open this and look around, watch him open that and look around, watch him click here, click there, change this, adjust that, and finally the problem is fixed and I watch him go bye-bye. Just another day at my office ... NOT !!!! 4 hours on Sunday (just me), 2 hours yesterday (just me), 1 hour today with the tech just to get their frikken application moved from one server to another. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Manuals and Instructions don't always "tell all" in the world of IT. But the cold beer and warm sun on my deck afterwards sure felt great!
14. I burned off a lot of fat last Friday evening
15. That would be the "all new" Yamaha Rumour! Unfortunately, nobody can ride a Rumour
16. Not a good choice to replace a 1st gen Venture. After all, it doesn't have all the ..."power, handling, pillion comfort, load capacity, weather protection, audio performance with passenger/rider intercom sophistication, 'two-up touring capability'" that a 1st gen does.
17. Not the greatest pic but this is one I've regretted selling since 1968. 1958 Chev Impala Convertible (US model with a 348 engine and 2 speed powerglide). Even had factory continental kit. Bought it for $350, sold it for $350
18. What about the CD player? (OK, maybe that wasn't "modern" LOL)
19. All these "suggestions" yet not one of you mentioned "wipers" ... I have a pair of those "yellow" glasses with mini-wipers on them ... work like a hot-damn! As for the water pooling ... I recall that was an issue one time and it near caused me to crash. Was travelling on the freeway in a fairly heavy rain storm, min-wipers at full speed, full length rain suit on, and all of a sudden I got this blast of real cold water on the "jewels" ... (keep in mind I was toasty warm down there up to that point). Well, that made me shriek and jump and I nealy lost control of the scoot! Turns out, as I discovered later, I had a hole in just the "right spot" and a pool of water found that hole when I moved slightly. (just kiddin 'bout the wipers)
20. yep and the main reason I renewed!
21. I wonder if Pootin has been eating too much Poutine and his brains have turned into it ?

24. Couple other things to note... The valve train is chain driven. Some think the tranny is helical cut gears but in fact, only the gear between the primary and secondary shaft is helical. All the other gears are straight cut. It does make a distinctive "clunk" when going into 1st as well as 2nd but the rest of the gears are relatively quiet, especially if you pre-load the shifter a bit when changing. "blipping" the throttle when gearing down, especially going into 3rd, 2nd, and 1st is not a good idea. For some reason the computer doesn't understand this for what it is and sometimes kills the engine. A real flaw IMO. Took me a while to get that habit out of my head.
25. I'm not sure exactly what makes the noise in these engines but they are noisy as the rpm's climb. You hear it because the engine is solid mounted and in fact, forms the lower part of the frame so all the engine sounds are "reverberated" (for lack of a better word) thru the frame. It's one of those things that is "normal" and you just have to accept it and tune it out. Took me a while to do that as I kept thinking "there's something wrong with this motor" but talking to other owners and after 16000 kms it still sounds the same ... I just ignore it and "ride it like I stole it" LOL Oh, and the D&D pipes help to tune out the engine sounds LOL
