  1. nope, I knew you were just razzin me
  2. I'll be looking forward to your "review".
  3. AHEM! as I recall .... on the RSV I had to change out the clutch basket in hopes of getting rid of that frikken whine ... which helped ... some. Then I had to try a 130 front tire to improve the terrible low speed handling.... which helped ... some but not enough so I then went and installed levelling links which again helped... some but it still handled like crap at low speed. Oh yea ... and I had to change the tires coz the stock ones were crap. ... and I had to put on the bar risers coz with the stock setup I kept getting a pain in my neck and shoulder and all the while, all of this was giving me a pain in the ... AHEM! ... and I already had one there from the seat. What have I done to the Vic that even compares? NONE. Performance mods is all just because I wanted to ... not because the bike needed "FIXING"
  4. Congratulations Larry and Joyce! In this day and age it is somewhat rare that two people stay together for such a long time. I'm coming up to 41 years ... 3 with the 1st wife, 30 with the 2nd, and 8 with the 3rd to you both!
  5. Warranty? These things have a warranty? ... for what? Here's the list... Lloydz high flow air filter Stage 1 ECM flash 02's disconnected CATs gutted Lloydz timing wheel @ 2 degrees advance D&D slip-on mufflers Lloydz VFC-III (Victory Fuel Controller) 1/4 turn throttle ring HID bulbs high & low Gustaffsson shorty flip shield is there a Harley corner? (I think that will come first)
  6. First thing you should add now is the Lloydz Timing Wheel. Makes a big difference in the bottom end power. With the mods I've done, I can crack it at 1800 and no faltering. Stock would have been around 2200.
  7. Looks good on ya! Congrats! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
  8. Removing the Catalytic converters makes a big difference because they are directly under the passenger's feet.
  9. Well that's a LOT better than what I thought you meant LOL ... at least it would fit I'm thinking (yes, I do that sometimes) ... as time passes and RSV or 1st gen owners decide to replace their scoots, we'll see more of them switching over to Victory or some other brand if Yama doesn't bring out a new touring model.
  10. You couldn't have said "bend over" any clearer ...
  11. Like a fool, I sent my payment in so now I gotta wait until next April (maybe by then some of youse guys will dump those behemoths you ride and get a real bike )
  12. yep... seen those black and white ones in a news article
  13. Every so often, someone creates an "RSV" or "1st Gen" sighting thread. Well I figured it was time for a CCT thread..... Last weekend (when we had a sunny, warm day) I was out for a ride and as I was riding along I glanced to my right and there it was .... another red Victory CCT ... I could barely believe my eyes as I'd not seen another on the road since I got it last May .... I was so excited ... I waved to the rider and he waved back. I was hoping to meet up with him and share stories about our CCTs and all of a sudden, he was gone! Then I realized .... it was a reflection of me in the buildings glass front.
  14. Check this out. I've been using it since it came out back in the late 90's .... http://www.maxthon.com/
  15. Can you be more specific re: "Windows page" ? Assuming you mean here.. Things you can try... Clear your browser's cache and temporary internet files get a program called ccleaner (it's free) and run it. It will clean all this crap out of your system for you.
  16. Lutz ... YOU are the MAIN REASON I stayed ....
  17. The wife turns on the golf game ... she also likes to watch paint dry I take a nap.
  18. dang... I thought this was gonna be about riding a Victory Cross Country ....
  19. It appears we've been.... SAVED !
  20. ahhhh yes, I do miss that cassette player ... well, not the player itself but the hole where I mounted my gauges .... but wait!!! ... I have a TACH! Who needs those gauges! hmmmm... guess I don't really miss it after all
  21. Those were probably harleys ... One should keep in mind that a lot of the Harley owners tend to beef up their engines by doing some motor work ... heads, big bore kits, etc so ya, buddy has 120,000 but he's done a bunch of motor work... was it needed to get to that? There are a few Vic owners reporting over 100,000 and no issues but these bikes are too new to have a lot of them. There are quite a few tho that are pushing 80,000 without any issues. All a good sign. What about the old days when we rode the in-line 4's ... all air cooled. I've had a few of them and have put a lotta miles on them, ran the crap outta them ... never an engine problem. just sayin yanno....
  22. I think what I need to get rid of is those pics I have of my RSMV (that I keep looking at) LOL Truthfully, if that bike had the balance and nibleness of the Vic and that frikken clutch basket whine was non existant, I would probably still have it. That is not to say I'm not happy with my Vic ... as the saying goes, "things happen for reason's".
  23. Just renewed for another year. Thanks Don and all the members here who make this site special!
  24. I was dreaming I traded my Vic in on an RSV .... :crying:
  25. From my perspective, it makes no difference to me if a bike is "water" cooled or not. The Vic is air and oil cooled and they have a fairly large oil cooler. These engines run cooler than an HD and bike engines have been air cooled since the beginning. Some complain about the excess heat but that is coming from the exhaust on these bikes, not the engine so much. The catalytic converters are the source of it and those are right under your feet. Remove them and it's a world of difference. Yes, that anniv edition is a sharp looker.
