    Brains

A three-year-old boy was examining his testicles while taking a bath. "Mom" he asked, "are these my brains?" "Not yet," she replied.
  2. "I am not available right now, but thank you for caring enough to call. I am making some changes in my life. Please leave a message after the Beep. If I do not return your call, You are one of the changes."
  3. My wife of course thought it was excellent. Both of the daughters are still raving about it and when we exited the theater, they both said "that's it! ... we're definately getting our m/c lic". Both girls are now 30 and both love to go for a ride with me whenever they get a chance. I have a 2002 VTX1300 that I'm re-doing (it has been sitting for appx 8 years). This will be a "loaner bike" for whoever in the family wants to use it to go riding with us. Both of the girls b/fs have their m/c lic but no m/c. Nina, my wife, has many times said she wished she had gotten into riding years ago but feels that at this time in her life she doesn't have the confidence to attempt riding her own. I can't blame her much as she has enuf trouble just riding a bicycle LOL
  4. Actually, I was riding a Wing at the time .. oddly enuf, nobody said anything about "sneaking out" then
  5. Just over 15,000 kms now. ZERO issues .... ooops, that's wrong, I thought I had a head gasket leaking but further examination showed that the crank case breather tube had come loose where it connects to the air intake just under the tank. Oil vapour was condensing and dripping down to the fins and flowing off that just where the head and cylinders meet. I fixed it myself. That said, they have experienced some mfg flaws and have, in fact, had to replace the heads of a few bikes. Not much being reported on the forums as far as real problems though. As in most forums, you will have the whiners ... too much buffeting, too much engine heat, tranny is too clunky, yadda yadda yadda .... I don't notice anything like that on mine to be worth whining about. Hardly any buffeting and I have a short shield. I reduced the heat by removing the catalytic convertors. Tranny does clunk going into 1st and sometimes 2nd but so what... it's the nature of the beast. Very easy to boost the performance of these bikes. Being that they have to conform to EPA regs, etc... they are "tuned down" quite a bit. One of the simplest and most cost effective mods is what is called an Advance Timing Wheel. Timing is "locked in" via a gear on the primary from the factory. This wheel allows you to advance (or retard) the timing by up to 8 degrees. I've set mine at 4 advance and it makes a big improvement in bottom end power. Then there's the Power Commander V and Autotune which can really make these bikes come alive. Some guys are pushing around 130 hp & tq AT THE WHEEL. I've seen their dyno charts. We're seeing more and more Vics on the road and there's a lot of HD owners switching over. Many of them were long time HD .... now saying they'll nver go back. Even quite a few ex-Venture owners now riding Vics and the odd ex-Wingers. sorry, guess I'm rambling LOL but given an open door on this subject, I can't help myself.
  6. The saying goes "there's one in every crowd" ... but in this forum, just know one thing Big Tom ... you're not alone!

  9. Compared to our weather here on the Wet Coast of Canuckland, I'd say many of you 'mericans south of the border are not the wimpy ones considering the kind of severe weather systems y'all have been experiencing!
  10. hmmm... I just re-read my post and I don't see where I said if I was staying or not. Are you trying to brainwash me by these comments?
  11. Me, wife, and two daughters attended the showing of "Why We Ride" yesterday. I really did not know what to expect from this documentary other than everyone who has seen it highly recommended it. I was not disappointed! It was very interesting, very well put together, very informative and educational. What I think I took away most from it was that everything I feel about riding a motorcycle was put into words or expressions by many different riders. I found it very interesting that we all share the same passion for many of the same reasons, no matter what bike or kind of riding we do. If any of you out there are bikers, are thinking about becoming one, and especially those who are afraid of their son, daughter, wife, sister, brother or whoever it might be that is either a rider or considering becoming a rider, I highly recommend seeing this film..
  12. It's been almost a year since I bought my Victory and I've been spending a lot of time on those forums. I still come here on a regular basis but I'm finding that there just aren't many threads that grab my attention anymore. In addition, aside from a bit of humour now and then, I've little to contribute. My subscription is coming due soon and I've been struggling with the idea of renew or not renew. Well, I've decided!
  13. Speaking of BSOD, I don't think I've seen one since Windows 2000. Been running Win7 pro at work since it came out. I do a lot of different things on my work computer and not once have I had a problem. Even run a "WinXP mode" because a couple of internet based phone system reporting apps will only run in WinXP (out-dated stuff that they refuse to upgrade). We're doing a complete server and desktop refresh by June and all the new desktops will be coming with Win 7 pro. No chance in h3LL will we move to Win 8 or 8.1

  17. That's some very personal info you've shared Don, especially here in an open forum. Thank you for that! Relationships and marriage can be a rocky road at times. When two people truly are friends, like each other, have respect for each other, and are in love with each other, it's all worth the effort in the long run. Congrats to you both for realizing those things and being able to work things out! Now when did you say maintenance day is?

  20. A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. 'Have you ever done anything of particular merit?' St. Peter asked. 'Well, I can think of one thing,' the cowboy offered. 'On a trip to the Big Horn Mountains out in Wyoming, I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, 'Now, back off or I'll kick the #&%$ out of all of you!' St. Peter was impressed, 'When did this happen?' 'Couple of minutes ago.'
