I go thru a large bag of English Mints a week ... ain't gained or lost a pound in 30 years ... I have noticed that any excess "fat" from my upper body has managed to slide down to my mid section though!!

Seems to me I read somewhere that there's a connection ....

I've done a fair amount of polishing on aluminum bike parts as well as aluminum wheels. Aside from removing old clear-coat, etc I have only ever used Solvall Autosol. It does an amazing job; however, a bit tricky when using a polishing wheel as too much pressure, too much heat, etc... causes it to "cake" and then it's a pain. One other "trick" I learned to clean things up before polishing is to use between 1000 and 2000 grit wet-or-dry (using it wet of course) sandpaper. Have never tried buffing compound but maybe I will next time just for comparison.

My apologies as this is somewhat of a RANT. The "Thanks" button is designed to say "Thanks for this useful post" I've noticed that folks here click the Thanks button on posts that, for the life of me, I can't see what was so "useful" about it. Posts that are nothing more than comments for example and have no real usefulness ... somebody thanks the poster for it. Seems to me that this is an over-use and incorrect use of the button and thus, folks wind up with a zillion "Thanks" stats in their profile. For example, I was Thanked 457 times in 314 posts. There ain't NO WAY I posted USEFUL information that many times!

Tools ... I've always carried a variety of tools, most of which have already been suggested. There's only been 2 times when I've actually had to use them on the road ... Once to help out a Hardley rider (2009), the other to fix my tranny on my '72 Bonneville (1976). (guess I've been lucky ... touch wood)

That's a real "bummer"!! Hope ya get it cleaned out of there with minimal effort. Might I suggest using a proper pencil sharpener next time ....

OK, went into my file and I did forget LOL Changed out the stock D404 at 22050 kilometers. Replaced it with a Bridgestone Spitfire II Changed that out at 34961 Kilometers. Replaced it with a E3 Sold the bike at 43,500 kms

Now, after I posted, I got to thinking ... the problem is, my hard drive (head) can store info ... it's just that it doesn't retrieve it so well anymore ... anyhoo, I am totally not sure about what I said LOL. I will check my file when I get home .... I might have gone a 3rd rear tire, that being the E3.

FWIW... I had the D404 (rear) on my '06. I replaced the rear once with a E3. If I recall correctly, there was maybe one and a half riding seasons on the E3 when I sold it and it still had lots of tread. There was 46,000 km on the bike when I sold it so, that would suggest that I got well over 20,000 on the D404.

Kevin, I'd suggest on the back one if it has that many on it, there won't be 1/2 tread left ... some folks really have no idea and just take a wild guess about such things. Where is this bike at? Got a link to share?

Horsemeat used to be available at the butcher shop (a specialty shop that was allowed to sell it) ... I've had horsemeat steaks back in the late 60's early 70's .... the Dutch folk were regulars (my 1st wife is Dutch). It was good if cooked properly.

One of my ex-girlfriends served me her fav dish ... creamed peas. The recipe: 1 can of peas (the worst taste on the earth to begin with), 1/2 cup mix of corn starch/water, heat peas to boiling and add the mix to thicken. YUKKKKKK!! My ex-m.i.l. cooked everything beyond recognition. Steak cooked so long you needed a hammer and chisel, veggies cooked to mush .... YUKKKKK!! My ex-wife followed in her mom's footsteps and her fav was mashed potatoes smothered with butter and ketchup .... YUKKKKK!! Notice I've used the prefix "EX" here .... LOL

We considered that for the couch ... decided against it although it is a Sklar Peppler brand so generally worth the bucks to do so. The daughters have wanted it since forever so one of them will get it.

heh ... it's one of thse so-called "Smart" TVs .. danged thing ain't so smart ... it doesn't seem to know how to produce the money to pay for itself!
