  1. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/electronic-tachometer-1-78-inch-black-face-w-led/part/DS-21-6911K Not on a RSV but I love mine.
  2. I agree they are rather tight. My Honda was VERY easy to flip. Kawi also. Never had one apart though.
  3. That's true, this is slightly different as some engine designers actually design the intakes to get a type of vortex into the chamber. It has to be designed as a complete system. Not just some insert you put in the path. Crap, now I'm just typing to hear myself typing.................
  4. The wet method is more accurate way of measuring the floats because that's the way the carb actually works. What happens when the float is slightly twisted, which I've seem many times. Which side do you measure? How well does the valve shutoff? That being said, I've always done it on the bench cause 'wet' is just a pain. I have friends that do it that way and swear by it.
  5. Vortex generators. Remember how spinning a 2 liter bottle upside down it will empty faster because of the vortex you create. Same principle.
  6. Those things may work in theory, problem is, what's the path to the cylinder. Our engines have 2 intake valves. How's that vortex you create gonna split into 2? To use those, the entire intake path would have to be designed to take advantage of it.
  7. Well I went ahead and checked the oil level with a 1" thick board under the front wheel as I have the leveling links in back. It changes the oil by 1/4th of the window. Makes sense that I don't get blow-by with oil all the way to the top, which is where I'll keep it from now on. So there!
  8. A friend of mine took his Mk1, stripped it of all plastic, made a rat/chopper out of it. It fell over once and he said all he did was grab the handlebars and it lifted up fairly easy. Can't do that with a 2nd gen. That's why he chose that model, cause the CG is so low. He also said it was much faster without all the added weight.
  9. You can set(check) them 'wet'. It's in the manual if I recall.
  10. Well maybe I'll find a 1st gen and rip everything off of it!.......................except the engine of course
  11. The wet weight of a RSTD is about 830. What's the weight of a 1st gen? The only complaint I have with my RSTD is the weight. It doesn't help when I jump on my ZRX which is 300 lbs. lighter.
  12. So is it just backfiring on decel? Slow jets are the only thing working then. Larger slow jets? I did but for other reasons. Don't need a rejet kit for that. What are your pilots screws set at?
  13. You had to be going WAY too slow then!
  14. I change it too often to notice a difference in brands. A quart of anything will last a looonnng time.
  15. All those who have installed the leveling link in back which raises the rear 1", ever notice the oil window is in the front of the engine? So how do you think that effects the reading? Now even if I have it to the top of the window I don't get blow-by like I use to. Comments, observations, ridicule?????????????
  16. Against legalizing it. Plenty of research says it dumbs you down with continued use. Good reason they call it 'dope'! Don't think we will stop it though. The US is on the way down anyway. Anyone who says they smoke all the time and it doesn't affect them is fooling themselves. How would you know it doesn't in 10 years? YOU wouldn't see it! As far as tax revenue increases, YA, that's why we should legalize it. They always need more of our tax dollars!
  17. Love both, can't help. Dragin more intense riding. Cherohala more relaxing.
  18. So nobody has tried a Bridgestone Exedra Max?? Guess I'll be the genie pig this year!
  19. Always wanted a Stratoliner Deluxe. Probably only Vtwin I'd go back to.
  20. Probably just as reliable as the rest. It has the smaller carbs (28mm vs 32mm) so power might be down a bit at higher RPM's.
  21. MV85HB-15 This is the size listed for the E3 (same as 150/90-15) Agree about D404, very low mileage.
  22. The tank is vented, it will not build pressure unless the tube is blocked,
  23. Here's my 2¢, which probably isn't worth even that. The E3 on rear is pretty good, but what I don't like about it is, it has a pretty flat profile. I have NO chicken strips on it. You can lean the bike over further than the profile. I haven't noticed a problem with this except a slight wiggle in high speed corners. Gonna try a Exedra Max or G702 as they have a rounder profile next time. Didn't like the E3 on front at all. The Stratoliner wheel setup really fixed the front end near perfect.
  24. I don't know, but if you find one, LET ME KNOW!
