yahoo thank you very much people!! thanks yammer dan they did pop right off cleaned it there is a screw type pin u screw into middle of wire the wire was barely hanging on to it when i took off put back together and seems ill be able to ride while i wait for new set of wires thanks again and ill be a permanet member here shortly!!! and will be bothering all you again im sure haha love these old bike now and want to make this one a brand new/old bike by end of summer:cool10: thanks again

thanks for great info !! just looked at the wires and the one sparking just poped out of cap in my fingers ok but how the **** do the caps come off are they screwed on to plugs ? cause the ones on there are angled at top and cant turn them off they hit sides of motor they feel like a hard plastic so do i just get pliers in there and unscrew them if they are screw on will replace with straight ones but dont want to break these for now as i might have to ride it to shop ( no trailer)

hi again all. thanks a lot for great replies on my led question great group here will definetly be joining perm. but now i have problem. this is my first older bike so im not very sure of the mechanics but love the bike 1983 venture!! got it a month ago was idleing hard had a yamaha dealer fix he rebuilt carbs and changed plugs. ran great for 200 miles. then last night went for little cruise and ran very hot started dogging out from standing start offs got home noticed clicking from right rear cylinder the spark was jumping from plug boots to motor . to hot and dark to look at it . i dont think he canged plug wires do you think its just that or something worse? or i guess these are the put together yourself wires do you think it just came apart at the boot? thanks again all

hi all glad i found this org. this my first post. i have a 83 venture and i want to add some rear running lights and a second licence plate flashing brake light so the 4 wheelers can see me. i want to go with leds do you think they wont draw to much from the electrical if i just splice onto the tail light wiring? thanks for any help
