  1. Don't worry. You'd be safe. It appears you have a helmet on. RR
  2. These bikes were designed for a center stand. To try to make a centre stand fit causes problems. Darn Canucks. RR
  3. You are a lucky man. I have never heard of a broken axle. I would also have the dealer replace the bearings in the wheel while they are at it. Since the axle has been running with a single support end, the bearings have been running with non-perpendicular loading. They are not designed for that. Learn to do your own wrenching. I am very leery of letting the dealer (and I have a good one) work on my bike. RR
  4. Day cover? RR
  5. Save some money. Get to know your dealer shop manager. Many will exchange shims for free if you happen to do 'some' business with them. RR
  6. Most importantly, this is the line for a Moonburger. First picture from the store area back, the other from the end to the store (which you can't really see). This was one of the most well behaved and happy crowds I have ever been a part of. Lots of folks, lots of disparate styles, no conflicts. It may be due to there being no alcohol, but it was great. RR
  7. First picture is of where I parked. Pulled in next to another Venture and his wife on a V-Star. Didn't socialize with him much as I needed to get to the store to meet up with my Dad (and I was running a bit late). BTW, the store is behind the tree line on the left of the road - about 1 mile away. I was on the north road 2nd picture is looking down the road to the east. 3rd picture was looking south. 4th picture is the Moonshine General Store. The HQ for all this fun. RR
  8. I missed this post as I was already on the way. BTW, several wings with aux tanks as well as other bikes with aux tanks. Couldn't believe how many bikes were there. Saw Mike's (EUSA1) beautiful bike right by the store but wasn't able to find him. Good day of riding. On the road at about 5:15 am, got to Moonshine and parked by 11:00, walked to the store and my Dad just sat down at the picnic table with a hamburger - and another one right next to him for me!! Yeah (wait 'til you see the picture of the food line). Walked around looking at bikes and chatting with folks until 1 and started back. Visited my daughter in Chicago and got caught in some nasty storms in Milwaukee (sorry I didn't call Jeff. Needed to get home). A little over 800 miles. Good day indeed. Time for a shower and bed. RR
  9. I have a 3x5 map that I glued to a cork board. Then made a frame for it and have it hanging in my home office. Each trip I use different colored push pins and different color string to lay it out. Will post a picture in the morning. RR
  10. Am just short of 114,000 miles on my 2nd Gen after the Moonshine run today. RR
  11. That's too bad. Perhaps I will stop by on my way back and see if you have everything sorted out (and a soda left in the fridge). Your info in your profile? Edit: Yes it is. RR
  12. What GPS? I've had my Zumo 550 there for many years and it does pretty well. RR
  13. Familiar with Marshall. Used to pass thru there (creosote plant if I recall correctly) to my paternal Grandparents who lived in Robinson. RR
  14. There are two bolts that hold the brake reservoir to the handlebars. Remove those and replace them with the longer screws holding the RAM mount. Works great. Don't do it on the clutch side or the GPS will cover the radio controls. RR
  15. Is Hamilton still dry? Used to stay at the HI across the road from the NTN plant many years ago. It was 60 miles in any direction to get a beer. RR
  16. Sorry for the confusion. Will be heading thru Milwaukee about 6:30 am or so.
  17. Get with it. We need to toughen up that candybutt of yours. RR
  18. Alright now. Who is heading to the Moonshine Lunch Run this year? http://Www.moonshine-run.com I am heading down that morning and heading back home that night. 800 mile round trip. It better be a good burger.
  19. Have a blast. If you drive through WI, give us a call to meet up. No worries. If your maintenance is up to date, tires are good, etc. - pack the bike and go. RR
  20. Email the picture to yourself. Most email programs will ask if you want to reduce the size before sending. Say yes and send it. You now have a resized picture. RR
  21. Order a set of replacement plugs for the next time you change plugs. Cheap and easy. RR
  22. KISA, Sounds like there is a rev limiter set in the TCI control. As I have never worked with these units, someone will jump on here and provide details. RR P.S. Your English is much better than my Russian.
  23. Yes it is. Difficult, but it can be done. Just did it this past winter when I did my valves. RR
  24. Yes, I ran the synthetic for a while. Didn't seem to work any better or worse than the standard dino gear lube. Replacement interval is 16k miles so I change mine whenever I replace a rear tire. It only takes a pint or so, so a gallon goes a long way. Using only dino oil for now. RR
