My wife most times wishes my expansion hole WAS plugged.

We were on the way out. Blocking. Then we headed to DC. To help the local chapter in va. Right now we're in Gettysburg , fixing to head over to flight 93 memorial. Traveling with an old buddy of yours, Ken Fuhrer, his wife & another couple.

Getting in ready for rolling thunder. Heading out in the morning. I synced the carbs this afternoon, & noticed after I did, when I turn the key back on the fuel pump is "clicking" faster than normal. The bike was good & warmed up, but what concerns me is if I turn the key off then right back on the pump is clicking...doesn't make scence to me as the bowl should be full. Should I be concerned or is this one of the signs of a fuel pump going out? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Melvin

Several years ago (Aprox 5) I had a similar problem with a 650 vstar. It turned out to be the stator going bad. Don't recall the procedure for testing, but if I remember correctly I found the info needed on a delphi forum for vstars 650's, 650ccnd.com I believe, hope that helps. Best of luck, Mel

I was looking for grease seals for my hf tag along. I found out that you can order them directly from hf. and very reasonably too. I could not order them from the web sight...I had to actually call. They come 4 to a pack, $5.99 per pack plus tax & shipping. I ordered 2 packs, shipping was $6.99. (didn't matter whether you order 1 or 2, or ?) Tax was $1.28.Total $20.25. Not bad, all included $2.53 each. The only draw back.. took about a 2 weeks from time I ordered till arrival. But heck I got 8 of them so I should be good to go for a while. Item # 27737. I didn't cut it...I did get one of your harnesses. I guess I worded that wrong sorry...but that is normal for me. I guess what I need to know is where do I get the converter from I've looked around some & can't seem to find one. Part #'s would be good. I tried to search for info but couldn't find anything definite. O.K. this is the second edit...What the heck is wrong with me today.....I'm more of a goof-ball than normal. Thanks Guys, Mel

O.K. I'm ready to start cutting wires. What do I need to get to convert from 5 wire to 4 wire. i have checked @ trac supply & they don't have a converter. I have a 2 gen & HF tag along. Thanks all, Mel

I was there in the south parking lot.....with the CMA. I wasn't in the north parking lot long, (got there about 5:30.) There were at least two in the south parking lot, other than ours. & I saw several saturday while kicking around near the monuments. Mel

I had one leaking a few months back...I just glued a dime on the cover to "tighten" up the plug. Ordered 4 new plugs from partzilla. Just finished flushing the cooling system yesterday & installed the new plugs. Today I was riding it like I stole it. I am ready for riding season. Be Safe, Mel

Wow second post in the last few minutes(whats wrong with me). We used to have a saying when I raced go-karts, I think the same holds true with any helmet...."If you have a $5.00 head....buy a $5.00 helmet. Going back to my corner now, Mel

If I have a clutch whine I don't notice it. I wear ear buds all the time & listen to the radio. Even when I rode a 650 v-star I wore ear protection. I love our venture, My biggest decision on going with the venture is, When My wife & I went to test drive one, we hadn't even gotten out of the parking lot and she said "I Love this...this so nice". I knew right then, this was the bike for us. I can "put up" with a lot as long as she is happy. She is the best riding partner ever. I don't have any issues with the Venture I/We love it and are very very satisfied with this bike. We can easily do 300,400,500 miles a days and look forward to many More trips on this bike. Mel

O.K. this is what I found out from what I'm told, whether it's true or not who knows. Stebel & Fiamm are in cahoots together. The horn I have (crome) does not say stebel, but if I pull off the chrome covers it does say stebel on the black part of the horn. So I guess they just stuck chrome covers on a black stebel & let it fly. I do know it is loud as heck. So there you go. But like I said who knows????? Thanks everyone, Mel

I ordered a stebel horn from twisted throttle. It arrived today. I'm not sure it is a stebel The package says Fiamm. No where on the horn or package does it say stebel. Is this a knock off or is this the real thing. (are thy one in the same) Thanks, Mel

Thanks, Hopefully my wife's valentine's present (stebel horn & bracket/wiring) will be here this afternoon & I can install it and make her happy & she will take me out to dinner. Last summer I had the bright idea of at least trying every blizzard on the menu. I can't seem to get past the reeses blizzard......so I have to keep starting over again. Oh well we all have our burdens to bear. Maybe this summer. One of our favorite things is to take a trip to see Bessie, at the DQ Clinton N.C. it is the oldest opperating icecream machine in North America or America something like that. Either way it is cool.
