  1. When you turn on the lights, does it slow down? Then you have to many lights because the gen has to work more. I had a Suzuki GS 1000 I had aircraft landing lights on the front for driving lights. I couldnt run both because they were such a draw on the system.
  2. Pull the crap out and see if it will run with out it.
  3. 6 speed and belt drive. Wow is that the 3rd gen?
  4. If we know what model of beast we are talking about it would help immensely. I would have to take a poke you are talking first gen, as there is no wire to the battery of a second gen past the positive and negative cables. If it was a second gen I would say look towards the fuel pump maybe.
  5. Plenty other roads are good, without the danger of some big truck is trying to kill you. Cherahola Pky, Moonshiner 28, The loop around Fontana Dam is neat. Drive over Franklin to Highlands.
  6. Yea Puc I dont get the dealer network thing either. Vics have a limited amount of dealers to start with, compared to the T-shirt company. Some Victory dealers are also Indian dealers, but not all. Here is a couple excerpts from an article just released from Roadrunner Mag. We found the Springfield to be a well-made touring machine, with a torquey engine, comfortable ride, and quality components. Chrome plating, fit, and finish are all top notch. The Indian Springfield is available in either Thunder Black or Indian Motorcycle Red. Retail pricing starts at ,999 for Black and ,549 for Red. Add 0 for California emissions equipment. It comes with a two-year unlimited mileage factory warranty and includes free membership in the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group for one year. As Yogi Berra once said, “The future ain’t what it used to be!” The tank-mounted instrument cluster crams a lot of information in a small space, including a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), cruise control indicator, tachometer, electronic speedometer with odometer, fuel gauge, dual trip meters, clock, and more. The dual driving lamps are standard, as is the cruise control, and it works well. Standard front and rear highway bars allow mounting of accessories and offer protection in a tip-over, and accessory leather highway bar wraps provide a vintage look. The Springfield can be further customized with a full line of accessories, including tall and low windshields, heated rider and passenger seats, soft lowers, and heated grips to keep comfortable in cool temperatures. The optional color-matched accessory trunk adds 17 gallons of capacity for serious touring.
  7. I rode my venture from Florida I think field elevation at local airport is like 45 ft, up to Charlotte NC, then thru the NY Finger Lakes region, to outside Toronto, back thur WV to Fla. No issues with bike sputtering or anything that indicate some carb issue. I would try to stay in front of the HD as it is easier to dodge parts and oil film. lol As far as Dragon goes, make sure your insurance is payed up. Last time I was going to ride it, I left the lower end there @ restaurant and made first corner when a Jack Azz in a big rig came around the corner and ran me off the road. I'm done with it until they put those ba$turds in jail. There are huge signs telling them not to drive that road. If he would have killed me he would have never stopped, because he saw me go off and kept going. Sorry to go off there a bit. Can you tell I'm still pissed? And it happened in Oct 2015
  8. Dont let the lack of highway pegs worry you. I think I have a set in the garage I can make a deal on. I loved my pillow top seat as did the boss.
  9. Glad you got a scoot you know some background on. Tastes and styles change for each of us. Long as you keep riding and hopefully check in here, enjoy.
  10. I always removed both bags and both mufflers. More room to work and less weight to jack up. Loosen clamp, and then sort of wiggle the end of the muffler in a small circular motion and gradually get larger until it has some movement to come off.
  11. A book comes to mind. Unsafe at any speed. Dunno how much I would trust a stranger's fabrication skills.
  12. Another LOTTO ticket?
  13. The kit I got (less the on/off switch) was about a 30 min job once fairing was split. It included a relay along with the harness. If you found a time delay relay you could swap with the one supplied with the kit in be done in maybe an hour and half tops.
  14. Don a little more probably semi-useless info on the HID I have picked up. First off I think Flyin gave me the wiring set up for a on/of switch I used with a flashing LED to let me know I did not have headlight on. Worked great the entire time I had it. Anyways, the headlight has only so much life on it. And it is somewhat based on "starts" of the light, that is on cycles. So if you flip key on and light comes on then goes off because of voltage shortness then when bike starts light comes back on. You are doubling the amount of starts on the bulb. They are kind of like a carbon arc torch and its hard on them and burns away at the filament.
  15. No problem sweetie. what color would you like? Link here. Or you could go with the new Polaris Slingshot. Its almost a convertible sorta kinda.
  16. I had put a Shinko 777 on the rear of my RSV a year our so before I traded it. Liked the grip and wet traction. Mileage was looking good @ probably 6k or so.
  17. You got to wax a boat? Man I know I absolutely dont want one of them things. That would take away from riding time.
  18. I do not care for them there white walls at all, no sir. Well maybe OK on his scoot if he's the one crawling around cleaning them. But they dont stay white long unless the bike is parked. Brake dust and road grim fouls them up purdy quick. So to keep him out ride'n stead of cleanin. Thats my vote.
  19. So thats the butt ugly bike Chin Ho rides on Hawaii 5-0
  20. I thought along the same lines Puc. A smaller version of V Rod which.... Well died in woll HD folks just cant accept new things well it seems. Could you imagine a V-Rod motor in a touring frame? Take say a street glide, and vision a V-Rod motor in it. It would probably be 10" or more narrower, run cooler and be lighter.

    New Venture?

Well Dont think I'd be taking nuttin I wanted fixed to that guy. He dont even know what he has there.
  22. Oh I had a pick up that I use to pull a race car trailer with. It developed a short in the wiring and would occasionally pop the fuse for the tail lights. I bought a circuit breaker and wired it in the same way. Then if it happened to pop the breaker I could reset and still have lights and no ticket. I did finally rewire the trailer and the problems went away.
  23. LOL yea buddy. I sure hope nobody takes this as serious fix. What I had done in past was I had some sort of old car, I sure dont remember what it was. but I took a glass fuse, knocked the glass out, soldered in a wire and a couple spade connectors a AGC or whatever fuse would sit in. Then a zip top bag with a couple common sizes 5,10 15 amp AGC fuses. Then if the glass fuse blew, I could plug the glass ends in slots and install the AGC "temp" fuse and get where I was going.
  24. If it is the OEM style bulbs, they are a PAR 36 bulb. Which they dont have one of those. Now if yours are like mine and been changed to the type that has an H3 or similar type bulb you may have a shot at it. I just replaced both bulbs in my Victor with a ultra star I think they are called. They are in a sort of orange package.
  25. OK Barry I will try to remember that. My class is done June 17th. Then I think I'm off until mid Aug.
