  1. I would say replace the valve core. for $1 or so its worth a try. If the shock is in deed bad the Hagon runs just under $500 shipped to your door custom built. I think actually its $489 or something. I just put one in a fellows bike a month or so ago.
  2. Mine came from the trailer supply place you use Steve. So far excellent USA made equipment from them.
  3. I have a Krypronite lock. And one of these handy jobs. So far I have not jumped on the scoot and forgot I had the lock on it. but I had a system. I would come out from the airport terminal. uncover the bike, pack cover, unlock bike disc, load suitcase then gear up.
  4. Unfortunately for motorcycles its a monopoly. Colorite is the ONLY supplier. And they are not cheap. found this place. Depending on how much you need to paint. A spray bomb is $60.You might try this place.
  5. Nope We will be in Savannah Ga that weekend. But I think I Have been across that bridge last year on our way back from Toronto.
  6. Before Steve started making his or I knew he made his anyways I use like just a piece of 1/4" ID alum tube from home depot. I polished it up with chrome polish and installed some longer screws as the one picture shows. Steves plug makes it a whole bunch easier even if you buy the light bar elsewhere, I bet he can make you a plug and you can connect the wires up. Much better then the scotch lock deals. yuck
  7. I made some LED running lights for mine. I took the reflectors off the mounts on the rear bag rail and installed them there. I also made the same modification in the front. the rears are wired to be running and turn lights while the fronts I just left as running lights. May not bee as much light as you are talking about though. (the brite strips on the bags and under the trunk are actually the reflective stripes on the bike and tag)
  8. See if this thread helps you out. Other wise I'm going to have to go out and start looking mine over to figure it out. I can tell you I had to put mine on a lift and remove the front wheel to get it to lower into the triple tree. Then it went to far and I had to bring them back out. I could not get it to go with the front wheel on the forks. I can only guess because you have to move them (forks) exactly the same amount at the same time or else it sort of wedges it self. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
  9. I told you so. LOL
  10. I am not completly sure will have to look in service manual. But even if you have to split the fairing thats only like 30 min or so. 10 min maybe to change the, bulb and 30 min to put back together. 1.5 tops. Soumds like they want you to pay for their learning experience. If nobody jumps in Ill look it up and let you know. Mine does not come on straight away full bright. It starts dim and the longer I go the brighter it get say in 10 min or so.
  11. Just fix it. It cant be as rough looking as donvito's was. It looked like he had sponsorship from 3m.
  12. Vito my friend, enjoy the cruise. you dont do those very often (well atleast I dont) and its a special occasion. We seem to try to have meet and eats semi-regular here in Fl. You can catch up on the next one.
  13. If its a second Gen and its the actual headlight, there is no way to replace it. Well easily anyways. The lens is glued to the housing. There is a write up or two about changing it out and installing HID assemblies. Lens and all.
  14. What I have found is. As you lift the bike the jack wheels turn. Much like when you jack a car up the jack pulls itself under the car. Well the bike jack does the same thing. And because the weight is much more concentrated it makes it amplified. And if you have then removed the bags or something you have changed how the weight is after its lifter. Then when you go to sit it down the wheels dont always caster straight. It has caused me more than one or two "oh crap" as your letting it down. Letting it down is the only time I have run across scary moments. You know your trying to ease the handle off the closed position and nothing, nothing, then it seem all of a sudden it wants to go down quickly. Thats where I seem to have problems.
  15. I go back and forth. I have a set of Harley slash cut mufflers that I like, nice sound. but on a trip of 3000+ miles I dont like the roar so much. Makes it hard on ears and also hard sometimes to hear the passenger. So I usually swap them out on long trips. its a 20-30 min job.
  16. You can try to "expand" the side pieces of the plug your installing. The tooth picks will do about the same thing with no fuss though. I have thought about wiring in a fused direct wire, but have read you need to cut the voltage down to around 5v for most GPS. Garmin sells a wire you can "direct" power from. then plug end has a power reducer or whatever they call it built in. Something like this is required.
  17. Seaking: When I think of the trials you went thru on your deal I just shake my head. Its was kind of "one of them thing" perfect storm deals. What caused what to go bad first? Was the switch being in a weakened condition the start? Who knows. I'm just glad you got it up and going. I enjoyed tossing ideas back and forth on it with you.
  18. I like it has the larger tires instead of the doughnut jobs.
  19. I'm with you TX2Strugis, With the bad disc in my neck it hurts. I would think somewhere on the trailer would be a build or ID plate.

One way to look at the Bolt is its different from the Suzuki and Kawasaki options for same size bike. More on a Sportster look than a Fat Boy cruiser style.
  21. The wife and I have a trip up NC way planned for Oct around the 10th. Sure hope the leaves hold out for her to see. Last year wasnt to great. Some spots they were falling and it made it tricky to ride with the leaves on the ground and in blind corners.
  22. We use to have a group of USAF aircraft mechanics that when they got out went to Saudi and worked for them. Dang good money back then in 80's. Tax free if I remember. As for me, I'm too dang old to do that and I don't think I could get a kitchen pass to boot.

When I started looking for a bike to get back to riding in 07 I saw a lot of sporty's for sale. I bet 70% of them were 883 and punched. I guess the idea was to get something tagged under 90cc to get the cheaper rates on insurance. I have seen a few around here and they are kind of neat looking. But not my cup of tea.
  24. Good possibility its bushings.Check for leakage on the shock to be sure.
  25. I didnt even read that far. My eyes bugged out when I saw the price.
