  1. Gen1 RSV -- I should have picked that up! You pulled the Yamaha name off the fairing. Anyway, I need ABS. I've had a few close calls. One time, I almost ran over my buddy on his BMW R1150RT. He stopped very fast out of the blue. I still don't know why he stopped so fast and I do not believe that he knows that I almost ran him over! I decided then and there that all my bikes will have ABS. I sold my 2006 RSV and I bought a 2005 ST1300P with ABS. I really miss my RSV. I put 34,000 miles on it in just one and a half years. I rode it to visit family in CA many times. I rode it to Yosemite. I rode it to Sturgis (from Anthem, AZ). It was such a great ride! I'm waiting for the new RSV. Hopefully, it will have ABS. If I give up waiting or if the new RSV does not have ABS, I will buy a Yamaha FJR or Victory Cross Country Tour. The FJR is more sporty for the mountain roads and a lot cheaper, but the Victory CCT is more comfortable like my old Venture. I wish that I could afford a garage full of bikes!
  2. What kind of bike is that? I should know, but I can't make out the brand/model.
  3. That is a beautiful bike! I demo'ed the Victory Cross Country Tour and loved it. The only thing that I do not like is the price and the "KLANK!!!" every time I shift gears. If the gear shifting was smoother, I might be able to get over the price. Can you imagine a Victory CCT with an "Assist & Slipper" clutch like the FJR? Sign me up!
  4. Alright, SOMEONE has to know!!! Are we going to get a new RSV or do I have to settle for an FJR? I loved my old RSV, but I really want ABS and NO CASSETTE DECK!!!!! Someone has to know!!! Do I wait for the new RSV? Is it really "around the corner"???? I have attached a spy photo, so I know that Yamaha has the new RSV on the drawing board... Does anyone have an answer for me??
  5. I cannot find that lift. The only lift that I can find is $429 (Item#68892). What is the Item# for the $299 lift? Thank you!
  6. Thank you for the pics! It looks nice. I'm going to install the OEM Passing Lamps. Then, I will pick up the LED bulbs and install them like you did. Just wish there was a less expensive way to do it and get the same effect. Oh well, you can't put a price on safety... at least that is what I will tell my wife when I come home with great looking passing lights on my bike!
  7. I would be on the side of the road if it wasn't for the reserve. It has saved me many times. Unfortunately, my eyesight is not the greatest. I do not notice when the odometer switches over to the Fuel Counter. In addition, sometimes I am enjoying the ride and I do not notice that my fuel gauge has dropped to the last bar. I need a bright light to say "Hey dude! You need to get some gas now!" Thanks for the idea about the wire under the plastic housing that surrounds the ignition switch. I will follow the wire and see if it leads to the low fuel light. If not, I may be splitting the fairing!
  8. My low fuel light is very dim. I do not notice when it comes on so I end up running out of fuel, turning the reserve on, and then finding the nearest gas station. My Yamaha dealer wants two hours of labor to replace the low fuel light. It can't be that hard. I can get the 3W bulb for $3.00. I googled for instructions to replace the low fuel light bulb and I can't seem to find the answer. Is it difficult or is it easy? How do I replace the bulb? Thanks!
  9. I have 2" lights mounted on my forks. I do not like them. I plan to pull them off. Too small -- not very visible. I want OEM-sized Passing Lights for visibility (and looks).
  10. I need the whole setup. I was hoping that someone who has installed LED passing lights could tell me how to do it. However, it looks like I will get to share my experience to help others! I really want the OEM look with LED benefits. So, at this point, I plan to purchase an OEM Passing Lights system and installation bracket -- the whole deal. Then, I plan to purchase LED bulbs to replace the halogen ones. If someone can tell me a better (and hopefully less expensive) way to do it, I would certainly appreciate it. Otherwise, I will post my experience and the costs associated.
  11. I sold my Vulcan and I purchased a 2006 Midnight Venture. I LOVE my Midnight Venture. The only thing that I miss from my Vulcan is the Passing Lights bar. I stopped by my Yamaha dealer. They want $300 for the lights and mounting bar. However, the lights burn a lot of electricity. I want to use LED lights instead, but I want the OEM look. I found an LED Passing Lights that are supposed to work on the RSV, but I want to talk with the experts first! Has anyone installed LED Passing Lights? What are the best ones that do not interfere with the wind deflectors? Thanks! By the way, here is the link for the ebay version. Unfortunately, it looks like it will interfere with the wind deflectors: [ame=http://www.ebay.com/itm/151354990091?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT]http://www.ebay.com/itm/151354990091?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT[/ame] Thank you for your advice!
