Jack, I have that same Kimber 6.5 Swede, it's a nice shooter that holds tight groups well out past 200 yards.Have fun with that new gun..... I have an older Kimber 6.5x55 out of Oregon... strickly for a collectable... that's very nice.. I've heard good things about the new ones...https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=118322

I have a Ruger M77 MARK II .270 with a Swarovski scope, real nice wood, about 8 pounds, if that interests you Chuck. Sweet shooter. I'd consider selling or barter for something in .308

Looking forward to it, since we moved to upstate South Carolina in early November I'll have no excuse for missing the next Asheville get together. We are now living close to Table Rock state park.

Bummer on the dead battery.
If you were good boys and girls maybe Santa will bring you a new battery.

I run Rotella T6 year around, never a problem in the winter. When I know I'll be riding in below freezing temps I run a 60 watt lightbulb under the crankcase for easier startups in the morning.

Put a Ford emblem on it, everyone will think it's supposed to look like that!

Compared to the roads we left in Michigan, these roads in SC are like driving on a freshly made bed!In the last couple years we have added SC to our driving as we have worn out the roads around the TN/NC mountains. There are a lot of nice places to ride and camp in SC. On the down side, even though SC has usually got the lowest gas prices, they need to raise their gas taxes and spend them on their roads, especially the two lane highways. Whether in the SC mountains or the mid-state down to the coast, some of the two lanes are terrible. We were down at Hunting Island, near Beaufort, SC a couple weeks ago and did a lot of two lane riding in our Miata and it about beat us to death.Randy

I'll do my best to join that ritual!A few years ago we meet Skid and a few others in North Myrtle Beach at bike week and wound up at Hamburger Joe's just across the highway from the vendors area, so it has become an annual ritual to go to Hamburger Joe's during bike week.https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=117962

Winterize the bike? What's that!!! I didn't in Michigan, why would I in South Carolina? Heated gear , it's like riding in a toaster oven [emoji16]Congrats. We are frequent visitors of South Carolina every year. Beautiful State. I am sure you will have fun all year round. There is no need to winterize your bike. So when is the housewarming?
Bunch of other VR members up your way.
Will expect you at Hamburger Joe's next May for bike week.
My guess would be Spring of 2020 Joe. Hamburger Joe's? More info pleeze.
Nice move, Jay!You'll love it here.
You'll only be about 20 miles from me.
I'm about 10 miles south of Pickens, just off 178.
Glad to hear, I was worried I'd be the only VR member around, it's good to hear I'll have some riders to show me the country side.

Peanut butter on a hot dog! OK, I'll try anything once
Now since you are a transplant, there are things you need to know. The most important is that SC hot dogs have peanut butter on them. All the other changes don't matter. -
Yes sir, it most certainly does.Congratulations [emoji481]Huhhhh:think: does it it have an apple pie fridge with my name on it.

We put an offer in on a house about 9 miles outside of Pickens, SC. just north of Pumpkintown SC. Almost in the shadow of Table Rock Mtn. & state park. The offer was accepted, after the inspection we we asked for a price concession , the seller agreed so we have a deal! Closing will be Nov. 7th [emoji847]

Thanks for the tip Carl, we're looking for a new house, not country!Well now,, that's a bummer. Hope you suit them!We have a house for sale across the road from us, only thing is that it has no interior walls. Guy bought it, decided to update it, tore everything out to the bare studs and then decided to buy another house instead. $375k

Forget the meet and eat at that property, seller changed the terms we politely told him what he can do with his house! THE search continues.....
