1. I bet an aftermarket exhaust would really make it fast!
2. Really? When I was a naïve 21 yr. old my first experience with a car dealer (Royal Chevrolet in Huntsville, AL) They went up on the finance charge 3 times. The 2nd time everything was definitely finalized, signed & done. Next day the conman came to my workplace with new paperwork saying they couldn't get the #2 rate after all and I needed to resign new paperwork for the #3 rate. I realized I'd done a stupid thing as soon as I watched him walk out the door. Never dealt with a stealer since and if I borrow money it's from a bank, cu or lender I trust & I shop for best rate.
3. Because The FACTORY quit building them in 1974? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Davidson_Servi-Car Sort of like factory built convertibles. All farmed out to 3rd parties now. When I pondered your question I thought back to when I started riding fall of 69. Trikes were rare & cool back then. Especially the choppers of the Easy Rider era. http://www.2040-motos.com/_content/cars/images/20/10320/023.jpg Then they disappeared only to reappear as an off-road machine for kids. Then those disappeared because them were banned. http://demos.appthemes.com/classipress/files/2012/06/688418-500x375.jpg Then they reappeared when touring bikes got in a weight contest. I would want a trike for the same reasons I'd want a 67 Eldorado. http://www.eldorado-seville.com/67eldo/67eldos/files/000_0226.jpg Biggest on the road, rides like a sofa and makes a statement. I think there is a degree of nostalgia associated with them regardless what generation you come from. I remember the police trikes downtown, the Easy Rider trikes and the off road versions. All come and gone. All showing my age. 60 The practical reasons others have already stated. My 2 cents. ps... You're asking the wrong crowd if 58 is old. Now go to a forum where 14-30 year old folks hang out & ????
4. Must be sure wife doesn't see this or she'll want another! Hmm. If I could get a trike out of it it could be worth it though.
5. If it's a couple of dogs you're after I've got 2 I'd like to get rid of!

7. Used to embarrass me when my father in law would do that to total strangers. After decades of watching him buy cars bikes real estate boats businesses by simply throwing that low ball offer out there (even when item isn't "on the market") I'm no longer shy about following his line, "You gotta butter the biscuit while it's hot!"
8. you will come across people who believe if you don't subscribe to their preferences you are are inferior. Fortunately you have found a home where you'll be accepted, encouraged, and educated. If you hear folks on this site taking digs at someone's choice of ride rest assured it is only in fun. Our leader rides an American bike and many members have moved on to other brands because Yamaha forgot to put the 3rd generation Venture in production. Know that your bike could easily have. 100,000 miles left in it. Does that sound like junk to you? Flyinfool is probably right though. The guy knew it was a diamond in the rough.
9. I needed my son's car towed across town last year. 4 miles? Called AAA. Truck came from town 25 miles away. I asked why and he said it wasn't worth the effort dealing with their paper work/reimbursement. Lot of wrecker do fine without them.
10.

[h=1]Hmm, we can't reach this page.[/h]

I seem to be getting a lot of this since upgrading. Tried to go to the embedded link from another post. http://www.crankyape.com/default.asp?pg=DisItems&Cat=3 and no can do. Not the first time.
11. No one has tried it yet as for as I know. If they have they either: a. didn't live to tell about it, b. too embarrassed to admit they wasted that much money on something that wouldn't fit, or c. still going cross country trying to wear it out & don't have time to post. My bet is there's not enough room but I've never seen one so I'm an ineligible witness.
12. From Puc's original link it is for the "London Taxi". British version of the Yellow Cab. 175R16 Dunlop Taxi Blackwall OE fitment for the London cab! Made in France The Austone is the Chinese version. Therefore the price difference. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hackney_carriage

Thanks boss. I asked him about the decals because we've done some vinyl graphics for them. He said they had a source in England for water applied decals. If you know anything about that craft point me to it. I smell a new cottage business.
14. Of course I remember you Lewis. Still wearing my St Jude shirt. Was hoping to spend some time together since you're just down the. highway. Life got in the way. I'll try to start a thread soon. Would like to video the resurrection of a 1st gen. Now could I spot you in a line-up? I'm having trouble remembering my grandkids names this week!
15. [\QUOTE]One of my most used apps is the Amazon app. I am an Amazon prime customer and anytime I need something Amazon is my first stops I'll 2nd that. Last Saturday I was headed to Huntsville to get Mom. Remembered I was supposed to get her a giant print NIV bible. Got off the interstate and went to Life way book store. Looked it up on Amazon. $15 with free shipping. Went in and she shows me a $50 model. I pulled out the phone just to see if they had the cheaper model. Before I could say Anything she says we match internet prices if it's the same product. (Barcode #) she found the same one and charged $15 instead of $30 regular price. I'll start trying that trick in the future. Would rather buy local anyway.
16. You never cease to amaze me Puc. That's my youngest granddaughter and we do call her princess. But she brought ME ice cream from the store today! Now I must warn you that if you come down my way there's this thing called Southern Hospitality that still exists in a few places.although I think it's getting thinner as we become a more global village. Now you and Tip WILL. receive fine treatment and refuge from that stuff that seems to afflict y'all up there. BUT I must say that you'll be treated like family. If you can't work the fields you'll just have to use whatever talents your kind specialize in up that way. I suspect for you it'll have something to do with a first. Gen! For Tip all she'll have to do is wear that smile and keep my wife occupied a few days.r
17. Keep it up there! 70 degrees at the coast. Just a chance of tornadoes but I sorta like that kind of weather. I guess it's whatever you grew up with.
18. Totally understand. Hopefully I'll get self motivated this year to bring her back to life. Got to stop procrastinating and put priorities where they belong. A man without a scoot is a .... pedestrian?
19. So since Dave is a wannabe can we assume you won? Will meet again for sure.
20. Ditto. Open Office is great. I have had some weirdness opening MS files sometimes but when I send the file to my coworker with excell there is usually something screwy about the way the file was created. All I use it for is opening MS files customers send me. No way I'm paying for office just to do that. It works. It's really free. No ads, nags, viruses.
21. I knew he was trouble when he pulled in Logan's parking lot dragging the pegs on the Wing! Good to finally meet someone I've been following for years. Seemed like an old friend. The kind who enjoys stirring up mischief at every opportunity! Enjoyed it Eck. Now what was the pool sharks name? Almost let the moment slide past without a pic. Didn't want to receive Puc's TTIWWP mark!
22. Should there be a link? I don't see it.
23. I remember JC Whitney used to sell an adaptor to put a Corvair engine on a VW transaxle. Most were for dune buggies & rail jobs I think. 180hp Monza engine was the reason for the kit but I never saw one in person. (VW/Corvair) Classic cars like that grab folks attention. Another good marketing strategy!
24. Eck they have a volunteer program. They also farm out some tasks to special free lancers and it's funny how many have an aviation background.
