  1. Cool beans Larry, I think Jay maybe going. We can come up with a route down. I know you usually take the back roads, not sure how you go, but it works for me. Talk to you when you get back.
  2. I asked a few here in Michigan when they were going, have not heard back from everyone just yet, so I figured I would post it here. I am going to Freebird's Maintainance Day on Friday morning. Anyone from Michigan want to meet for breakfast and then ride down together?
  3. I was thinking of using this to power my Satellite radio through a usb connector. It says 500 ma max. My gps is plugged into the plug on the fairing and I need another one. Usb is a low profile. But I guess the power supply for the radio reduces the ma rating?
  4. I have not yet looked for it, but supposedly there is an unused power cord under the seat on the 2nd gens. Does anyone know what the max milliamp rating this cord puts out?
  5. Colorite is pretty pricey. I sprayed my trailer and Joes trunk using Mazda Blueberry. Had the saddle bag lid spectrographed and that's what came up. Just go to an auto paint supply that has the hand held analyzer and have the paint scanned. The black is just a plain old black.
  6. I just replaced both the front and rear E3's on my bike. Had 22,000 miles on them.
  7. Me likey my new Barnett clutch. I replaced everything including the I basket. Virtually no chirp and when you let out the clutch.......go baby go!
  8. Unless your getting excessive vibration in the bars, don't use the weights.
  9. Try a few methods that have worked for me. Find an Allen head socket that looks like it might bite into the hole. Heat up hex on the driver mounted to an extension, cherry red if you have a torch, tap into the stripped out hole, let it cool down. Try that. The only other way would be to carefully drill out the center and us an easy out. It kind of looks like a top but with reverse tapered spiral that grabs the walls of the hole. USE ALOT OF CAUTION AND CARE when doing this.
  10. I never felt any slippage with my E3's. Have a new set on now. I will keep an eye on it. Maybe they changed the compound? Plus these are touring bikes........not crotch rockets.
  11. Why do you guys keep putting the Avons on your rides when there is a constant issue of sidewall cracking? I don't get it. I just replaced my E3's after 22,000 miles with another set of E3's. Avons are not even a consideration.
  12. I would not say that. I saw a patched Harley boy on Groesbeck yesterday cutting off cars for 2 miles. He did not get any farther ahead than the rest of us. And I mean he was riding like an a$$, actually passed in a car in the center turn lane. I was waiting for him to end up getting splattered. Never a cop around when you need one.

  15. I am just going to shoot the zombies and eat them. All I can say is ......wow.
  16. I got a set you can have!! I live a hop skip and a jump from you in Hamburg. Come on over and get them!
  17. Some have raised the rear with longer leveling links. Maybe a shorter link would work? Anyone ever try this? It would be easier and alot cheaper to do than a tire swap.
  18. EBC Rear Stock Fit Brake Rotor - MD2078 $132 free shipping Ebay.
  19. We will have to do that. Let me know next time your in town.
  20. I do not put used parts on my bike. Especially brake components.
  21. 23 and Spencer Rd is about 10 miles north from my house!
  22. I did not find them on that site for the Venture.
  23. Make a living yes! But not at double the price. That is just waaaay out of line in my book.
  24. No, they never have anything in stock at this dealer. It would not be in until thursday. I will have the EBC by then. Even if they did have it in stock, at that price, the bike can sit a few more days. I don't mind supporting local businesses, but not at the cost of me being fleeced.
  25. I have never tried them. I have seen them at buffets, but never had the ummmm ...fortitude to try them.
