  1. well I had the surgery on the right shoulder they found one bicep tendon so badly torn they could not repair it. had to shave the clav bone a 1/4 inch repaired 2 tears to the rotator cuff shave bone spurs from the socket. remove the bursa sack? I wont lie I am in pain pain meds help some. but the arm is hard to move had PT since day 5 as I had a bad reaction in the recovery room had bad chest pains and could not catch my breath. was given nitro and sent into the ICU for 3 days heart turned out to be ok. thank god. I try hard to do the PT and let them move the arm as much as they can. have to call the doctor every week for pain meds as they can only do 30 pills at a time something to do with a narco law? I have a polar ice machine that I place ice and water in then place a shoulder cuff on and it will ice down the shoulder doctor said no lifting and keep that arm in the sling for 4 weeks only take it out to do exercise and shower. don't even lift a cup of coffee with it. told me see him in a month to check how far range of motion is. I am ot sure but I think the PT person pulled or tore a inside stich? I have a small bulge in my bicep area.? he said it,s just the bicep tendon piece that was cut and left to heal on it,s own as it can not be attached to the bone? I will ask my doctor about that. I know my summer runs are over this year. but lets see how this shoulder turns out. hate it when it is your main arm. thank every one for your info on how you dealt with yours
  2. glad your ok now you have to worry if that dude had aids or something? I have seen some crazy ass dudes on pcp back in my days you could hit them till you could not punch any more and they kept coming. like Patrick said in road house no matter how big a guy is smash him in the knee and he will go down.
  3. private eyes there watching you they know your every move.. LOL
  4. I use to dribble water down the carbs on older cars to de carbon them. the look on some peoples faces was priceless but it worked. but I never heard od any one doing squirt in the radiator. now my uncle use to put a can of black pepper in a radiator to stop small leaks and it did work? I never understood what he said about putting a boot in a tire? I think he meant some kind of tube patch? as fool said something wet in an emergency. I do recall me and 6 other men in my army unit peeing into a jeep radiator LOL
  5. ok you have the red baron now time to make a snoopy?
  6. I go in on the 18th I have 2 tendons that are torn and one is separated from the bone? other one is by the upper shoulder clav something? also while there in there.. there is some bone spurs and calcium deposits and a lose piece of bone or something rubbing the bursa sack? he will start out with arthroscopic but said if it is any worse then I will have open shoulder surgery? he said the out look of doing any motorcycle rides the rest of this year is a big NO!!! I got the rootbeer run in now I will need to get the bike in storage mode. full tank of gas some stable in it. get the battery out and put it on a tender. man this sucks. as for PT I am very much a stickler on that. also hope that, he can fix the numbness in my middle and ring finger on that hand? this started after the shoulder injury. looks like a long summer and fall ahead of me till next spring darn it all.
  7. well I been having pain in my right shoulder for over a month. I lifted a kz 1000 up off the ground. I knew something was wrong but just thought I pulled something? well after a few doctors visits and some PT it just was not getting any better so I had a MRI done and I have 2 tendons that are torn and part of the bicep? so I'm going in for surgery about the end of july. to repair the damage has any one had this done? and how long before you healed enough to ride? I am trying to get in as much time as I can on the bike but weather and health has not been kind to me this year so far total miles on the bike this year is just short of 1100 miles. bike runs darn good and I need time to ride. good thing is if I am out for a while I can catch up on a little maintenance on her new plugs as she now has 7500 on the old ones. oil change is due in another 1100 miles a good clean up and recharge the air filter. just don't know how long this shoulder will take to fully heal? could use some info on how others have dealt with this? many thanks
  8. I was going to say the oil spot from the Harley but I will be nice LOL
  9. I think you need some goats.
  10. might look into that as I have done the cream coat and it worked but you had to be fast or it started to set up quick. can this also be used on the out side where the rust is inside that dent they patched up?
  11. a while back my friend bought this bike I rode it and it was fine. but some time back someone repainted it and it was sharp looking up until now. as who ever painted the bike did a nasty bondo or patch job on the tank. it is bubbling where the work was done and leaking gas. well it is weeping right now. but behind that peeling paint is rust where a dent or the old badge emblems where? we do not believe we can fix this. so he is looking for a gas tank if any one knows where he can get one please let me know ebay has a few but the prices are out of this world. some as high as $400 and need work? thanks oldgoat
  12. wait maybe trigger because I am sure you and tip are going to have many happy trails with her
  13. heart beat could be a good name because inside of it lays the heart of tweeks
  14. rooster because you came back to roost
  15. no sticker I think he should have venture riders members sign it when he meets them.
  16. well he got it welded up. he is trying to send me pictures. but I cant load them on my computer? he said he did a good beef up job on it then went after welds on the frame not that they where broke but just to make sure? he has a good lead on a 1984 parts bike no plastics on it but all the rest is there with clean title. he wants to know if he goes that way will all the 83 stuff fit the 84? he will just j put the bike together and have a 84 with low miles. I think the engine is a bolt in.? right now he is happy that he can put it back together and knows it will hold so he can ride this season then he will do the 84 swap if it can be done this winter
  17. this is why I love this club. the pictures are just what he needs to tackle this problem yep it broke in the same place .as Randys did. not much of a twist to it. he said he likes the way that welder did yours Randy he has most of the plastic removed. and to night will tear it down some more, and work on it this week end. I told him to sign up here and post pictures if he has time. once again thank you all
  18. thanks Don. I hope he can get it fixed. he owns a welding shop. just needs to find a wright up on the best way to do this. not sure if the man who owned it before was a member here or not? name is dave yeager. out of east Peoria IL he is sorry this happened. it was in a heated garage most of it,s life but sat for 7 or so years. but my friends friend went through it and has it running like a dream till this happened. if the sad part of it becomes a parts bike he can still make out okay.
  19. I am not sure cowpuc as the frame shows no rust? frame looks clean dirty but not rusty. yes no control on the dash for air. but the shocks do adjust with a air pump the guy gave him? we are thinking maybe just maybe the mono shock went out? as there is some kind of oily crap on the swing arm area. but it acted up just like randy,s did just kind of went boom and we did not want to try and ride it back home. he is a heavy guy at 300 plus pounds but he is 6 ft 3 inches tall. he said he thought he saw a split where the swing arm connects to the frame? looked like it might have a twist but he is not sure. we need to pull some of the bags and stuff off to get a better look? if we grab it and try to lift the rear by our arms it seems like it wants to go back to its height/ if that makes sense? like I said if I was to rate the bike before this happened I would give it a solid 7 out of ten. just a cracked mirror glass. and a yellow windshield. seat could use a little work no rips or splits but looks a little dry. don't know what you would call the paint? kind of maroon /purple. with gold pin stripes?

  21. thanks randy so he can do this with out pulling the motor? he is a welder. so we just need to turn this big baby over get it aligned ? and he can weld it up and make it stronger? should he drain the oil from the engine if it is going to be upside down? from what you said this is what happened to this bike. just a bump in the road and she dropped. I don't think his bike has the air adjust ride. it is not a royale. nice blke
  22. not sure if this is where to post this? my friends friend bought a nice 1983 Yamaha venture about 2 weeks ago has 28000 miles on it one owner bike he did a lot of carb work and cleaned the tank and changed the fluids and all has her running like a champ well today I was behind him and we went over them speed ridges that just before some stop signs. when his bikes rear end just dropped? almost looked like the rear tire was up in the fender. we called a tow truck flat bed and he took it home from what we could see it looks like the frame broke by the swing arm? or the swing arm broke sorry no pictures at this time. is this a known thing for a 1983 I know about the second gear issues but this bike looks like new for it,s age. and miles. he did get it cheap at $900 bucks with some extra goodies. but if it,s a frame can it be fixed? or should he just find a parts bike and get a better frame either way looks like a lot of work hate to see him junk the bike . thanks Oldgoat
  23. is it a 4 you could call it 10-4 I'm gone
