    It's really easy to get distracted in that area. There was a portion of the Smokey Mountains where I looked left and had a hard time refocusing on what was ahead of me, the view was that breathtaking. Luckily, at that time I was behind a couple of very slow cars and I could afford to gawk a little bit. I did make it up to 5110 feet on that road according to my Zumo.

    Saturday was the day I could make the trip. I'm totally wiped put right now, long 2 days and many many curves.

    I achieved a few different 1st's yesterday. 1.My 1st trip on the Dragon 2. My 1st trip through Hellbender 3. My 1st trip through the Smokey Mountain Parkway 4. My 1st 1000 mile day, with 1051 miles from 5:15 AM CST to 12:30 AM CST. All in all the day was a blast.

    I live in Round Lake Beach. I've only had my Venture for a little over a month, but I am averaging between 40-41 mpg. A thing that a lot of people don't take into consideration is that our fuel in the Chicagoland area has so many damn additives in it that our mileage generally suffers a little until we get gas away from the area. On my old bike (a V-Star 1300), I generally got 42-45 in this area. However when I went on cruises 50-75 miles out of the area, my mileage generally went up to 45-47, I also got a lot more decel popping in those areas. Just my 2cents. Kevin:322:

    Red, Maybe we could all tent it at Poopy's. Actually, there is a rather cool looking hotel in Bellevue Iowa, it used to be a mill and they converted it to a hotel, really nice spot with the Bellevue State Park right next door, just a thought. I like Savanna also, with the Mississippi Palisaides right there.

    I have a guardian bell attached to the lowest point on the engine guard. I also have a St. Christophers medallion that my wife requires me to use attached to the right mirror post. Kevin

    I'm going to need some help getting the beer fridge picture loaded. I have never done this before. The picture is 2.5 MB so it might be too big and I don't know how to make it smaller. Kevin

    Jeff, I enjoyed the event and the company. The hotel I stayed at was perfect (big couch in the basement). Loved the ride. Really enjoyed the unwind (BS Session). All and all a great couple of days I was able to spend at your place. Kevin
