  1. I was always told buyy as big as you can when you can. By the time you retire the venture will be just the way you want it. I drive over the road too, and can't wait to get out and ride my 84 VR. Going to buy another 84 soon.
  2. Can anyone tell me how to test pickup coils on my 83 VR? Not getting fire at #1 and 3. Have tested down to harness that goes to TCI and not getting anything at all. I have a good grund but not anything else. Other option could be Ignitor box, but bike starts and runs, but no fire to 1 and 3. Help in Fremont, NE.

    TCI

Not getting any readings at the TCI connectors. Following the six pin connector back to the connector right below the left side of the seat, I get similar results there also. Is there a connector other than that one. I'm pretty sure I have a bad connection, I just not sure where to look. Help aaaerstowr
  4. I bought this Venture Royale last spring and it ran great. Near the end of the season, Every time I would hit a bump it would lose it's oomph. The electric didn't go away just stumble on it's self and then pick back up. It did this intermittently. At the end of the season, My buddy and I went through the carbs as we thought it may be a carb issue. Didn't hurt. We found some clogged jets so it was worth it. After getting it back together, the bike just had no power from idle to full throttle. We started to check fire and found none at #1 and #3. This is my second bike the first ever was a 69 Honda dream which started out as pieces and parts in a box that I acquired when I helped a little old lady move. My wife and I enjoy riding very much so we would like to get it back up and going. I just need to know where to start. I wouldn't think ou could lose two coils at one time, so I'm thinking possible loose connection some where between pickup coil and coils. Any suggestions? aaaerstowr Fremont, NE
  5. Does any one know if there are any other Nebraska members besides me? I recently acquired my venture a few weeks ago. The wife and I are looking forward to riding with other people. This is our first bike. We have friends that ride but unlike us they have kids and they have more important issues to deal with. I would like her to see that it can be alot of fun. Alan and Kim
